As I mentioned before, I will be entering Scuderia Centro Sud for this year. The team will be run as closely as possible to its real-life counterpart; it will be based in Rome and for 1956 will only run on a part-time basis, most likely with a decent Ferrari package, as Maserati does not appear to be offering a good enough car. The team hopes to sign Luigi Villoresi, Giorgio Scarlatti, Toulo de Graffenried and Harry Schell, but that's something we can worry about later.

As for IRA, the team's plans to build its own car will be delayed by at least a year due to lack of sufficient funds and the fact that the Lancia should still yield some decent results this year. Also, if the team built its own car I wouldn't be able to run Centro Sud and I want to at least get that up and running and possibly hand it over to a competent manager before focusing on IRA again ;) But yes, IRA confirms its entry for the 1956 season and hopes to put on a good show for its fans on its local track in September :)

Manuel Bautista's Business announces Bid

Manuel Bautista has announced that he has submitted a bid to join F1 for 1956, possibly as a Privateer or Customer Team.

Story:

Equipo Castelldefels is a garage business originated from the spanish town in Barcelona of the same name, Castelldefels.

Equipo Castelldefels started in 1950 as a private garage business by Manuel Bautista, Grandfather of Mediterranean Motorsport Team Boss, Alex Bautista when he opened a garage in Castelldefels, near Barcelona, by the seafront of the Mediterranean. In 1953, Bautista who enjoyed watching F1 all the time, even when at work on his hidden TV in his garage office, he started to show interest in turning his garage business into a racing team.

By 1955, Bautista bought an old F2 Car which he spent almost all that year bidding for his new type of business. After heard work of restoring the car to is lovable state and with a new engine he bought from a second-hand shop installed into the car, he took his car to the Streets of Montjuic, where he organised a private motor show. There he impressed a few other racing and garage associates there with his racing skills.

There were also reports from all Spanish Newspapers that an unknown racing expert was persuading Bautista to submit a bid to race in a season as soon as possible and it is not yet confirmed whether this is true.

O.S.C.A. - Split with Bentley likely, new car planned

O.S.C.A. has great plans for the upcoming Formula One season, as reveiled by O.S.C.A. race director Piero Taruffi. The former F1 driver, whose career was ended in a high-speed accident at Bremgarten one and a half years ago, has taken over a management position at O.S.C.A. in late 1955.

A split with Bentley is likely, given a perceived lack of committment from the British manufacturer. Nonetheless, O.S.C.A. are hoping for further performance gains.

"1955 was quite a disappointment. We were hoping for our first race win, but actually we rather stagnated, while newcomers like B.C.M.A. or IRA appeared. We hope to catch up with the new car we're introducing this year."

The new O.S.C.A. F156 is nearing completion at the team's factory at Bologna, and will begin testing shortly in Sicily.

"We're hoping to deliver a top-level car, and we're confident to succeed", Taruffi says. "Customers are always very welcome. We will make the full package available, but the possibility to buy just the engine or the chassis will remain too."

The old F154 will be discontinued, however, existing F154's will remain available to customers looking for a competitive car for a smaller budget.

"The F154 is become a bit outdated for someone looking to be at the front of the grid, but it still has enough pace left to outperform newly designed cars in the same price class." Taruffi says.

As for the imminent split with Bentley, Taruffi commented: "We had a great partnership with Bentley for the past two years, and reached a level of performance that wouldn't have been possible otherwise. However, it seems that they are shifting their focus away from Formula 1. And we have the funding in place to do our planned programme without them.

So, to sum it up, O.S.C.A. will take part in 1956, most likely without Bentley. A new, top-level car will be produced.

Customers are always very welcome. Prices for the new F156 and the corresponding new engine will be announced when the new chassis design details are available.

The F154 chassis will be available for 15 000 GBP, the 156s engine will be available for 9 000 GBP. Only as long as O.S.C.A. has chassis of that type available, new F154 chassis won't be produced.

With your small budget, I would recommend one of my O.S.C.A. 154 / 156s combinations. The cost will be 24 000 for the full package.

Cooper Car Company will enter for 1956 with a full works effort.
This year our involvement will only be in the Irish, Scottisch and British Grand Prix.
Cooper will order one new T41 for the time being, until releasing a new car in 57 or 58.
More information will follow later.
When it comes to engine deals, the priority lies with Maserati as in the gentlemans agreement i had with their owners. But nothing is concrete yet, first we need more information.
I don't know what i want and i want it now!

Gordini Prepare for 1956

Gordini officially announced its participation in the 1956 Formula One world championship. The team have announced that they will enter under the Equipe Gordini banner running at least 3 new chassis, under the Type 56 designation to be powered by a brand new Gordini developed 2.5 Litre V8. Official details are expected to be released by the team in due course.

So Gordini will build brand new cars and engines exact specs and prices will be available once we get that part of the thread. The new Cars will be available to purchase for other teams

The Current cars will also be sold of to any entrants. Those cars were still competitive in 1955. and the price can be negotiated.

Anyone interested in the New cars or the current cars we have in stock

Lotus will design a new chassis for the 1956 season, dubbed the Lotus 10. Further details will be released once the chassis system details are confirmed, but we plan on building four cars as the initial batch. We'll also repair JFE-2-6 and scrap JFE-2-11, while making the remaining chassis and engines available for lease to privateer teams or one-off entries.

Vanwall will design a new chassis, but to cut costs we'll downsize to just one car. Our existing chassis will be sold at cut prices to any interested privateers.

Drivers who aren't team principals of their own outfits are run through RNG just like everybody else.

Though...for the sake of her career, I'd advise BRUNEL try to sign her. You don't want the first notable female driver to hit a career dead end, now do you? ;)

Your equipment is entering its fourth year of competition, and is becoming rather outdated. O.S.C.A. are debuting a new top-level car this season, and you should easily be able to afford one.

Your equipment is entering its fourth year of competition, and is becoming rather outdated. O.S.C.A. are debuting a new top-level car this season, and you should easily be able to afford one.

Why waste money with such an obscure car when you could have a brand new Ferrari? Discounts negotiable!

O.S.C.A. is by no means obscure. We're an established Formula 1 team and scored several podium positions over the last two years. And besides, Ferrari's past success won't make your car any faster.

Though...for the sake of her career, I'd advise BRUNEL try to sign her. You don't want the first notable female driver to hit a career dead end, now do you? ;)

In which case, BRUNEL definitely want to try to sign her. The team will obviously return with another part-time schedule, entering two or three rounds throughout the year (definitely Silverstone, defo Monza if we sign Maria, and perhaps Scotland and Ireland too).

Whooops. That was a typo from me. I'd advise BRUNEL definitely does not sign her, if you want her career not to fizzle out into obscurity! :P

I'm still going to try to sign her, then it'll be up to her and her RNG to decide whether to accept the offer or not. I'd rather see her remain in the sport like a 1975 Graham Hill rather than risk a Mika Hakkinen-style sabbatical!

The O.S.C.A. F156 chassis will be available for 27 500 and the O.S.C.A. 1500S-56 engine will be available for 17 500.

The team hopes to sign Luigi Villoresi, Giorgio Scarlatti, Toulo de Graffenried and Harry Schell, but that's something we can worry about later.

Maserati may not be able to offer a good car, but O.S.C.A. can. And since O.S.C.A. was founded by the Maserati brothers, it's as close to Maserati as you can get if you want to have a top-level car.

The engine of the future is here! The revolutionary Loonmotor, a remarkable and fantabulous new creation, handbuilt in a shop just outside Amsterdam, incorporating the latest innovations in engineing technology thanks to the one and only Jonkheer Gijsbert van Loon himself! Purchase this iconic and no doubt landmark engine for the low, low price of £9500! Can you really afford to be left behind by progress!?

I keep forgetting the Maserati-O.S.C.A. connection! Seeing as O.S.C.A. is the closest front-running parallel to Maserati, Scuderia Centro Sud will be more than happy to purchase one of the team's new chassis-engine combinations.

The team would also like to publicly express its interest in any Ferrari 555 that is for sale for its second entry at the German Grand Prix.

Scuderia Ferrari themselves can lend Scuderia Centro Sud a 555 package for the German GP at a cost of 5000 + transportation costs between Maranello & Nürburg

Scuderia Centro Sud is extremely grateful and accepts this deal.

Scuderia Adriatica (although short on budget) would like to buy a brand-new engine-chassis package from a works team.

Vanwall will sell their 1955 equipment at following rates:
Vanwall VW55 chassis 1 £ 15 000

Vanwall 254 engine 1 £ 12 500
Vanwall 254 engine 2 £ 13 500 (less used as Poore didn't qualify for that many races)

Chassis 1 & engine 1 bought together will cost £ 26 000
Chassis 2 & engine 2 bought together will cost £ 27 000

New VW55 chassis will be built and delivered to customers at the price of £ 22 500
New Vanwall 254 engines will be built and delivered to customers at the price of £ 18 000
A complete new VW55-254 package will be built and delivered to customers at the price of £ 38 000
British privateers get £ 500 off on the individual parts and £ 1000 off on the full package.

Vanwall's new chassis design will be called VW56; further details will follow once the new chassis system is published.

Edinburgh - 101 laps

I was under the impression that a new 10 km layout was being used for 1956. Or is this going to be a proper 1,000 km endurance race? :P

Oh right, completely forgot about that one :P

The Scottish Grand Prix will indeed be 35 laps long instead of 101.

Planned privateer entries;

Louis Chiron
If he fails to land a drive of his own at another team, I intend to enter him in a Lancia combo for his home race, if I can get my hands on one of course. Otherwise, possibly using the same Gordini equipment I hope to borrow for Voeckler (see below).

Ecurie Voeckler
Ecurie Voeckler are hoping to enter two Gordinis (preferably with the new gen chassis, old engine is ok). If they aren't already racing for other teams, the intended lineup for Reims is André Simon/Mike Sparken, and for Spa it would hopefully be André Simon/Olivier Gendebien.

Ecurie Ecosse
Entering the trio of races in GB & IRE, Ecurie Ecosse will hopefully return with a combination of a Cooper T41 with one of the new Coventry Climax engines bolted in. The first priority is to have Ron Flockhart driving, if he isn't employed elsewhere. David Murray will drive a second car in Edinburgh if feasible, or in all three races if Flockhart is employed elsewhere.

Ecurie Maghreb does show interest in Louis Chiron, and we will offer him a full-season drive in our customer Ferrari. We also have a spare Lancia chassis for a part-time, but with our current situation we can get Chiron another spare Ferrari should something go wrong with the first one.

We are disappointed that the FIA did not put the Moroccan Grand Prix on the calendar this year, and the Moroccan government is currently looking to negotiate terms to bring the event back on schedule.

In the meantime, Reatherson Racing Developments does remember the deal they agreed to with Ferrari for 1956 (as discussed via PM), which involves Gino Valenzano or Giulio Cabianca being signed (depending on Valenzano's availability) for a loan of Ferrari's works package. We still do repair and travel costs, though.
