Obverse:
The coin features an uncrowned portrait of King Edward VII facing right, with the legend "EDWARDVS VII DEI GRA: BRITT: OMN: REX FID: DEF: IND: IMP:" around it, which translates to "Edward the Seventh by the Grace of God King of all the Britains Defender of the Faith Emperor of India".
Reverse:
The reverse depicts Britannia, the female personification of Great Britain, seated facing right. She is wearing a crested Corinthian helmet and a flowing dress, resting her right hand on a shield bearing the combined crosses of the Union Flag, and holding a trident in her left hand.
Composition and Value:
This bronze coin was a standard circulation coin with a value of 1 Penny (1/240 of a Pound sterling).
Historical Context:
King Edward VII reigned from 1901 to 1910, and coins bearing his image were issued during this period. The 1907 penny is now over 100 years old.
