Re: The 2019 Silly Season thread

How many corners can Grosjean turn though before he ends up back at 2012? He is a quick driver but I can't help thinking there are other drivers available who could deliver through more consistency. Although then we are back into that whole Mercedes driver so not welcome here thing. I was hoping tha...

Re: Ponderbox

Here's a ponder for you. Would an F1 car with the hybrid system "unlimited" and with the right tyres for a single lap be able to beat the Porsche 919 Evo lap record round Spa? I was thinking about it because the Evo had to be heavily modified from WEC regulations to enable it to break the ...

Re: Reject of the Race - China 2018

The Toro Rosso crash was all Gasly's error. Verstappen's tangle with Vettel was a carbon copy. Both drivers went for a dive when it was too late and the lead driver had committed to the apex. Was never going to work. Verstappen is the reject of the race for me as he blew the win with his moves. Gasl...

Finally caught up with the F2 races from Bahrain last night.

Land Norris looked very impressive but the real star of the weekend was definitely Markelov. He's been one of the most exciting drivers in the series for the past couple of years.

Glad to see I'm not the only one feeling a bit glum after qualifying. Spent the day getting hyped up about a possible Honey Badger pole following Friday practise only to see him get beat into P3. Re: The Junior Series Thread

Yep, Leclerc has just made the rest of the field look a bit silly this year. In a way it's a bit of a shame as there are some pretty decent drivers in F2 but on the other hand we want to see the best drivers in F1 and if you can't stay with the leading driver then maybe you're not F1 material. Of co...

Am I the only person who thinks McLaren is simply trading one not-great engine for another? I'm not sure it matters either way for Alonso's championship aspirations. Or race wins come to that. I think the McLaren chassis this year is good enough to compete with Red Bull so if they'd had the same en...

Just caught up with the Belgian F2 races. Leclerc is mindblowingly quick. I know it doesn't count for toffee when they make it to F1 but he's certainly wanted the chance now. Sound assessments there guys and I agree. I would say though that Rowland's problem is that to make your mark at this level, you need to win or be runner up in season 2, season 3 at the latest. Good quali today but I was disappointed at how little screen time the back of the midfield got in Q1. Maybe it is the lack of a definitive back of the grid but hopefully that will improve going forward.

To be fair to Canamassas I don't see this one as being his fault. He gave Pic room on the inside but Pic actually loses the car mid corner.
