Re: The 2019 Silly Season thread
How many corners can Grosjean turn though before he ends up back at 2012? He is a quick driver but I can't help thinking there are other drivers available who could deliver through more consistency. Although then we are back into that whole Mercedes driver so not welcome here thing. I was hoping tha...

Here's a ponder for you. Would an F1 car with the hybrid system "unlimited" and with the right tyres for a single lap be able to beat the Porsche 919 Evo lap record round Spa? I was thinking about it because the Evo had to be heavily modified from WEC regulations to enable it to break the ...

Re: Reject of the Race - China 2018
The Toro Rosso crash was all Gasly's error. Verstappen's tangle with Vettel was a carbon copy. Both drivers went for a dive when it was too late and the lead driver had committed to the apex. Was never going to work. Verstappen is the reject of the race for me as he blew the win with his moves. Gasl...

Finally caught up with the F2 races from Bahrain last night.
Land Norris looked very impressive but the real star of the weekend was definitely Markelov. He's been one of the most exciting drivers in the series for the past couple of years.

Glad to see I'm not the only one feeling a bit glum after qualifying. Spent the day getting hyped up about a possible Honey Badger pole following Friday practise only to see him get beat into P3. Verstappen really turned up the heat in the inter team battle there. Credit where it is due though, that...

Re: The Junior Series Thread
Yep, Leclerc has just made the rest of the field look a bit silly this year. In a way it's a bit of a shame as there are some pretty decent drivers in F2 but on the other hand we want to see the best drivers in F1 and if you can't stay with the leading driver then maybe you're not F1 material. Of co...

Am I the only person who thinks McLaren is simply trading one not-great engine for another? I'm not sure it matters either way for Alonso's championship aspirations. Or race wins come to that. I think the McLaren chassis this year is good enough to compete with Red Bull so if they'd had the same en...

Just caught up with the Belgian F2 races. Leclerc is mindblowingly quick. I know it doesn't count for toffee when they make it to F1 but he's certainly wanted the chance now. Meanwhile Gasly who made a meal of it is left swinging in the wind. I'm echoing Gene Haas but F1 badly needs though backmarke...

Crazy as it might sound, how about both Giovinazzi and Leclerc in Saubers next year? Ok Giovinazzi hasn't covered himself in glory this year with what is it now, 3 crashes? Sound assessments there guys and I agree. I would say though that Rowland's problem is that to make your mark at this level, you need to win or be runner up in season 2, season 3 at the latest. He's doing that but not in the way that Giovinazzi was runner up for example. And there don't seem to be t...

I thought it was a good race. A good mix of errors, raw overtakes and a strategy battle thanks to Red Bull on the super softs. Grosjean and Giovinazzi together in one team would be amazing.
After all, they're ggggggreat!
Good quali today but I was disappointed at how little screen time the back of the midfield got in Q1. Maybe it is the lack of a definitive back of the grid but hopefully that will improve going forward.

Nice to see Lynn sign off with a win but I question his logic of not doing a 3rd season. It wasn't the best of campaigns for him so surely a 3rd year to really do a good job would make more sense. To be fair to Canamassas I don't see this one as being his fault. He gave Pic room on the inside but Pic actually loses the car mid corner. You can see from the onboard how he steers suddenly left towards Canamassas mid corner as the backend lets go. That was enough to cause the contact. It's very e...

Totally agree Coops. The rules determine the safety structure of the car and also of the circuits and so could have played a part in causing those deaths.
I still think the Halo is bloody awful though and I don't want to see it in F1.

I'm going to don't worry. Sky box missed the Feature race so I had to wait for the replay this morning to record it.
Even if he won I still don't think it changes much. He hasn't shown that he has the killer instinct and overall performance to be an F1 drIver.
