There doesn't seem to be too much trouble passing, but it's not quite been the crazy start many were expecting, has it?

Re: 2016 Grand Prix of Azerbaijan thread

One thing I am happy about is the 2pm UK start time - as I finish work at 1 on Sundays, it means this is a lunchtime race I can actually watch live for a change, rather than on half an hour's delay!

Amazing! What a race! Not necessarily the most thrilling contest in the world, but just *so* tense at the end, waiting to see who might win and if Verstappen could hang on. That puncture for Ricciardo was incredible - the sort of heartache that might usually snatch away a fairytale such as this, alm...

I think Rosberg's side of the Mercedes garage will be pretty happy with that, given the tyre situation - Ferrari will be disappointed to have lost out to that great lap from Ricciardo at the end, too. I feel a little sorry for those who missed out in Q2 due to that Force India wheel giving up the gh...

Re: GPDA statement

The British GP was one of those 'protected events' that must be on FTA. Not sure if it's been altered recently, but it was certainly still the case when Sky first got involved in 2012, hence why that race has always been live on FTA, regardless of picks. This is incorrect - the British Grand Prix h...

I think part of the problem may be that Ecclestone and / or the others in charge have seen at the huge sums football can gain from Sky and BT in the UK, and wanted to be a part of that club, but either haven't appreciated or just haven't understood the differences between football and F1. Football c...

I'm lucky enough to be able to afford to have Sky Sports F1, but I have it because I became an F1 fan watching free-to-air broadcasts. If you go down this route, it surely cuts off the potential of attracting new fans to the sport. Nobody will, as I did at the age of 11, happen to chance across a li...

It's always interesting with Hakkinen, as when you see him speaking to the team quite casually in the 1993 BBC documentary "The Team: A Year with McLaren", he seems much more fluent in English than he ever does in any interviews!
