Re: What If?

What if...the 1999 BAR hadn't been such a shitbox. (reliability wise, not pace) What if...Schumacher didn't plough into the back of Coulthard at Belgium in 1998. What if...Jean Alesi had seen his pitboard and come in at the 1997 Australian Grand Prix. What if...Schumacher didn't slide into the wall ...

Re: The 'F1 Challenge' Championship- Another Computer Series

Damnation! If only I had pitted on the same lap as Douglas and Daniel, the race might have turned out significantly different. I lost some much time my title hopes went there and then. I don't think there's going to be much harmony in the Mastercard Lola motorhome, for Roda did another reject move....

Re: The 'F1 Challenge' Championship- Another Computer Series

So, it has come down to this. 69 laps is all that is separating one of us from the title. And there is another wildcard in the act, for Daniel's team mate has secured pole, with us three all behind. My target is to win. Hopefully a certain Mastercard Lola breaks down at the start, and I don't mean ...

I have some reject-related What If moments here. What if...Panis's engine finally let go, allowing the Forti of Pedro Diniz into 6th place and scoring a point at the 1995 Australian Grand Prix. I fear the Renault engine has all but ended Douglas's chances for the title. I was just ahead of him coming up to the hairpin and suddenly all I could see was a HUGE plume of smoke behind me. All I have to do now is to win the next race and I will be champion! Considering my awful luck in the first...

I must say I wasn't expecting to be nearly a second faster than Daniel! I knew I was on a better lap, but I didn't think it would give me pole, let alone be faster by that margin. Quite a solid race I thought. The only thing I did of note was a pass round the outside of Phoenix at Hella-Licht. Anyone else think this 'A1-Ring' has ruined the old Osterrichring? It is going to be a tight last three races of the season, with the top three covered by just 4 points, any mistake or...

The FIA do know how to ruin a feel-good moment, don't they. It must be a coincidence that the main beneficiary of the disqualification is Ferrari... Anyway, I do hope they win their appeal. Zonta was to drive the 555 car, and Villenueve was to drive the Lucky Strike car, from what I remember from a book about the 1999 season. I wonder if anyone has any images of the cars in their seperate liveries before the adoption of the split livery?

I actually remember watching the 01 race back in 1999, and I liked it because of it's livery. I still do like the livery 12 years later. With both Daniel and Douglas well down the field, I could say I have an easy win on my hands, considering my pole. But this is Spa, where nothing is normal. 11th place is a bit of a let down considering the last few races. Just like in Canada, the Yamaha powerplant doesn't have the legs of the Renualt and Ferrari engines on long straights.
