Re: Expression of Interest for New Teams

The whole new team procedure is a joke. Oh how I miss the 1980s and 1990s, with Life, Coloni, Osella, AGS, EuroBrun and all the other hopeless but entertaining entries. They made racing interesting, if it was only for their failures. There will never be a Life L190 again. Sad days.

Re: A GPR what-if

Mid-1990s, I’d go for Bernd Schneider and Eric van de Poele. As for Schneider, he was so unfortunate to only really drive shitboxes in F1. And when he finally did get to sit in the Arrows, he immediately got yeeted for Alex Caffi, who still bagged a couple of points that should have been Schneider'...

Great info ! But wasn´t the F1-87 primarly designed by Gustav Brunner ? It had the typical Brunner look.

Re: John Crichton-Stuart, 7th Marquess of Bute 1958-2021

It is notable that he achieved both his points-finishes on circuits which were not very familiar for F1 drivers - Hungaroring was hosting its first and Adelaide its second race. And he had a DNQ in Monaco in a Lotus, which sure did not help his reputation. Even Ghinzani in the awful Osella outquali...

Re: Christian Danner

I think he was a competent driver. Not that far away from his highly-rated Team members Boutsen and Brundle at the time. Although it probably hurt that he was the only driver in a Turbo car (besides Caffi) without scoring a single point in 1987, even Moreno in the terrible AGS was before him at the ...

Re: Michael Schumacher skiing accident

Admittedly, he's been quoted because he's probably the only available quadriplegic ex-driver around but, unless he has been misquoted, I see no reason to believe he's invented this. I think I'm going to have to take the above comment back. In fact, I'm beginning to think Streiff has gone a bit ment...

Paralysed, unable to speak but "better". Bitter sweet news.

I doubt this is really legit. Philippe Streiff really belongs to Schumi´s inner circle ?

Great read

I would go for Life. Andrea Moda was pathetic too, but at least they got the car on the grid once. Life was so painfully slow they would have trouble to keep up with a F3 car.
