1.World Drivers Champion: Rosberg - I hope 2.World Constructors Champion: Mercedes 3.Scandal of the season: Something involving Bernie, no doubt. 4.Who will get replaced before the end of the season: Verstappen, when they find that it's too much too young for him. Let's hope it doesn't wreck his ca...

Re: FIA sue Phillipe Streiff
Using that logic, Oscar Pistorius should have been let off (even more than he was...) for killing Reeva Steenkamp. Playing the "please don't sue me because I'm disabled" card really doesn't improve my opinion of him, unless he has a genuine mental disorder that's making him talk twaddle, i...

Can't believe it's a year since I was desperately looking for updates and dreading going to bed in case he passed away in the night. Keep fighting Michael. I am also starting to wonder if Streiff is being a bit of a troll. I can't see him being allowed to continue visiting - if he ever did - if he's...

Re: Unusual Places to watch an f1 race
I usually end up watching the flyaway races at Mini Lella's gym club, which has wi-fi, or in the gym on a Sunday morning. The gym telly has subtitles on and what the speech recognition software comes up with for the driver's names is usually more entertaining than the race.

I only had a passing interest in things this year, and I think this will be the case next year. I find drivers like Magnussen, Perez, Hulkenberg, Kvyat, Grosjean and Bottas are still worth watching - the second tier is more interesting than the top tier at the moment where one team is completely dom...

I can see Palmer's point, but at the same time you simply cannot talk yourself up like that before you've even sat in a car. Anyhow to the job in hand: 1. Ferrari. This is a front running team? Looked stale and tired. Both drivers should go. 2. Sauber. Last chance to salvage anything from this seaso...

Re: 2015 Silly Season Thread
Given the cloud that Alonso left McLaren under last time, plus the fact that he's only wanting to go there to keep driving until a Mercedes seat comes up, I don't think he will have much influence (or not as much as he would maybe like) over Ron Dennis anymore. So I don't think Ron cares whether or ...

Re: Michael Schumacher skiing accident
Streiff got into a bit of trouble with Kehm not long after the accident for saying that Schumi was out of danger. This was at the time when the family were being very militant about what news came out. I would be inclined to say that he isn't making things up though, unless he's a very unpleasant in...

I'm not a particular fan of Button but I do think it is disrespectful of McLaren to make him potentially be going into his last F1 race without being able to mark it or do a proper farewell. The fatal flaw in Bernie's argument is that the rich 70 year old fans he is so keen on will also remember a time when F1 was much better than this.

This really is just facepalm to the power of facepalm.
I think he's playing a game of "If I can't run this, then no-one will" and is making sure he kills it off or leaves it in too desperate a state to continue, then retires.

I saw this too, and unless he's been mistranslated then I'd say it's accurate. Todt is very much part of the family's inner circle. This is more than I had dared hope for actually. Forza Jules indeed. As I said on the other thread, waiting for news like this is awful and reminiscent of the waiting of news on Schumacher, and indeed other injured drivers in the past.
And as I said with Schumacher, meaningful quality of life is the outcome we must hope for.

I think the radio has it's place but it's overused now. If you watch footage from the early to mid 90's the radio was there but the quality was so poor and it took so much concentration to listen to it - especially for the drivers - that it was largely used for essential communication only, and that...

Probably Benson doing his usual stirring but if this does come to pass then who's leaving?
In spite of the criticism Rosberg got from the team in the last race, I think it would be Hamilton getting the door shown.
They'd never afford him, but I'd love to see him beside Bottas at Williams.
