Re: Reject of the Race - Australia

That actually may not be so far from the truth. Apparently, as part of Channel 4’s contract, Sky has put in the provisos that they are not allowed to do interviews in the interview area, they aren’t allowed to do grid walks and the race is only supposed to be 50-60% of the broadcast show. Shockingly...

2) Button's Mclaren - not even a Button fan, but that was a bit naff.

1) Verstappen - it wasn't his fault the engine went boom.

2) Mclaren - seem to be developing at a great rate of knots. Should be aiming to get one car in second qualifying next time out.

1) Red Bull - the less charitable part of me would be enjoying their decline if it weren't for the fact I genuinely like Riccardo.

2) Maldonado - while the final accident was undoubtedly Button's fault, The Reverend drove like a plum up to that point.

For sheer comedy value, it has to be Ericsson.

Dishonourable mention to Red Bull - hope they can halt the decline, as their drivers deserve better than this.

1) Vettel - not his biggest fan, but he wiped the floor with an over-confident Mercedes team. Good job.
2) Raikkonen - unlucky, but blimey, what a recovery! Imagine what he could have done without the first lap issues.

Re: Ponderbox

Something that struck me earlier - is 2015 the first season where two different F1 teams have fielded driver pairings consisting of two former F1 World Champions? I suddenly thought now, if Rosberg would have won it last year, we would have three teams with driver pairings consisting of World Champ...

My avatar is simply a celebration of my favourite moment in F1 history - Vittorio Brambilla elatedly celebrating his only F1 victory, despite having smashed off the front of his March as he passed the chequered flag in Austria way back in 1975. Mclaren / Dennis has gone the safe route, instead of doing the brave thing and taking a punt on youth and potential.

Prior to the non-decision by the board, I kind of had the feeling that Honda wanted Jenson to stay at Mclaren for the next couple of years due to their previous association, whereas Ron wanted him out due to the fact Jenson was a high-profile acquisition by Martin Whitmarsh - Whitmarsh always shower...

How about Ian Scheckter's career ? I can remember that he did that full season for March once, but not much else. Nobody has a chance of fame when you're teammate to the great Alex Ribeiro I've seen footage of Scheckter spin off in Austria back in '77. Anonymous he may have been, but graceful with ...

I don't tend to support specific teams or drivers, but inevitably have a soft spot for the various minnows of the sport. Beyond F1, I have a general inte...
