Re: Longest gap between scoring points?

It would be an impressive Formula E grid, if nothing else. Not to mention Alex Rossi, who I'd love to see get a second chance in F1.

Very minor point - Jordan won four races, not three - Belgium 1998 with Hill, France and Italy 1999 with Frentzen, and Brazil 2003 with Fisichella. Otherwise, great article.

My bet is Bottas, but it's hard to see a new one soon - Nico is that bit worse than Lewis, and Ferrari look the most likely to close the gap.

Re: Reject of the Race - Japan

As for the cameras, what idiot decided to mount that fancy swivelling camera on the left of Perez's car, when all the overtakes are made on left-handers, meaning it missed most of the action it was there for. The whole thing was pretty rejectful really, only enlivened by some great midfield jostling...

Great article, well written and with nice details and the right level of enthusiasm for the subject. So sad that he didn't recover. With this and the Joe Kelly profile elsewhere, perhaps this site is in good hands.

Re: The Alessandro Zanardi IndyCar Thread

Different cars in the same team having different liveries is nothing new in IndyCar, the terminology is always of an owner running three teams, rather than a team running three cars. More often than not they have their own sponsors who follow them through their careers, and often their own crew. I d...

Re: Editorial direction of GP Rejects

Alex Rossi counts, in my mind - at least for now, Haas could do worse for 2016. Others who never contested a qualifying session were there, because they were entered or contested official practice sessions. Rossi has done those in two different races - though his name isn't as good as 'Ricardo Londo...

Re: The Alessandro Zanardi IndyCar Thread

Really sad day, and more negative press for our sport. I'm not totally convinced by cockpit canopies, as they could add other dangers when a car is overturned (especially if on fire as well). Maybe some sort of collapsible windscreen that absorbs impact but bends to it is the best solution, that rem...

Re: Unusual F1 Stats

Would Mansell count? He did win a race in 1990 when not too busy being outqualified by a Eurobrun didn't he? 1982 is what excludes Mansell - de Angelis won in the other Lotus in Austria (a race in which turbo cars qualified in the top 5, all failed to finish, four through enigne failures, and de An...

Re: Was Ricardo Rosset actually terrible?

Based on what he did in F1, yes he was. There's barely a glimmer of an impressive performance in two-and-a-bit years in F1, against some pretty mediocre team-mates. And he shone in a fairly weak F3000 year. In fairness though, his lack of career post-F1 was largely his own decision, as he took over ...

Re: Unusual F1 Stats

One related fact I read a while ago, and which I believe continues to hold true, is that Jenson Button has never had a teammate win a race in a season in which he too has not won a race. In other words, whenever Jenson has been in a race-winning chassis, he has managed to win a race. Impressive, th...

Re: Editorial direction of GP Rejects

Maybe we should start with drivers/teams which were never on F1Rejects, just in case we get the old content back? They onlt really reached Pizzonia and Friesacher, so we have 10 years to cover. Hispania and Caterham for a start, plus so many drivers - Buemi, Alguersuari, bruno Senna, Chandhok, di Gr...

Magny Cours 2007 - Glock and Zuber (team-mates, lest we forget), then Viso not slowing down under yellows, then Lapierre's botched pitstop. Amateur hour, only slightly tempered by the initial concern over whether Viso was okay (amazing that he was really).

Delighted that they both finished today, even if Merhi got the world's most pointless punishment (five seconds added to his race time when he was last anyway) for the world's least significant infringement (failing to keep up with the safety car pace when he was last anyway).

Re: Most Forgettable Drivers

Sebastien Buemi got a funny mention on the British gameshow Pointless (in which the questions are asked to 100 people beforehand and contestants are rewarded for knowing the obscure answers) - when just one of the 100 people managed to identify Buemi as (I think) a 2011 F1 driver, the host's explana...

Ah, the Earth Car. Who could sum it up better than Mark Blundell?: "They've got a new image. They've got everything that they're moving into in a different way - whole new process - but what they've got to be careful of is they don't lead the way on the track, that they're leaving behind techno...

The FA1L always made me chuckle - ironically it was one of their least unsuccessful cars (high praise indeed). Speaking of the 1999 European Grand Prix, the false start was pretty rejectful, as the first 5 cars and a midfielder all drive away, and the other 17 cars just stay where they are. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EgxbuM9W0l8 The midfielder being Jean Alesi of course. Re: Most Forgettable Drivers

Isn't the timing of Larini's one great result precisely what makes him forgettable? Anyone who saw the podium interviews just remembers a deeply saddened and philosophical Schumacher, and oblivious and seemingly delighted (at his own result) Hakkinen, but not the guy in between.
