Re: Red Bull "to build team around Vettel"
I'm a Sutil homer, yet even I don't see him being as fast as Vettel. Sutil is just the guy Red Bull needs; an above average driver with occasional great performances, a driver that can push Vettel at times. And RBR wouldn't loose hope of winning the WCC with Sutil on board.

Alguersuari MIGHT be up for that if Webber retires. Otherwise, I don't know who can be racing next to Sebastian.

Re: Red Bull "to build team around Vettel"
Building a team round a driver like Vettel is a gamble. To me it always looks like the team lead Vettel at the moment, they cosset him and build him up. He seems a genuinely nice guy but to lead a team you need a bit of the Alonso's about you. As a back up Id employ a decent #2 to keep him under pr...

Re: 2011 Silly Season
Not to say that Sutil doesn't have ability. If I were Sutil I wouldnt sign for Williams. Williams arent so far in front of Force India for it to be worth him risking his reputation against a still quick and committed Barrichello. Agreed. But Sutil is starting to get in a tricky position, he is risk...

Re: Driver Pairings you would like to have seen....
Year 2000: Ferrari - M. Schumacher & G. Fisichella * Fisi deserved that drive back then IMO. People easily remember him as a failure but he did some unbelievably things in his first full season at Jordan in 97. Completely outclassing Ralf. Jaguar would therefore end up with Irvine and Barrichell...

Re: What Tracks Will Get the Boot?
Has anyone though about the possibly scenario that more rounds in the championship will make the championship more even. Let's say that last season would have been 2-3 races longer, and Button-Vettel would have gone down to the wire IMO.. I just thought about this. I'm just basing it on the fact tha...

Good decisions - Ross Brawn creating Brawn GP, and choosing Barrichello over Senna. (2009) - McLaren signing Kimi instead of Heidfeld. (2002) - Sauber signing Kimi. (2001) - Briatore chose Alonso to be the leader of the Renault outfit. Bad decisions - Everything relating to Jacques Villeneuve since...

Alonso, Button and Hamilton have one great advantage in this bought; they have been champions, so they know the pressure. It's at times like these those experiences count. Webber, Vettel or even Red Bull has not been in the championship fight ever, and as we have seen their minds can melt into break...

Hakkinen / M. Schumacher at Ferrari 2001-2004.
Alonso / Montoya at Renault (Most explosive pairing??)
Räikkönen / Alonso at Renault (Kimi would have beat the crap out of Nando)
Alonso / Button at Ferrari in the future.

Will Power (b. 1981), give him a first chance please. Make him Mark Webber's protege or something.
Ryan Briscoe (b. 1981), pretty much same as above.
Justin Wilson, why not??
Sebastien Bourdais, I have a feeling he could have been a much better fit in another team.

Boullier certainly played his cards right. He didn't outright lie since a fact is that Robertsson, in press words Räikkönen, was in contact with the team. Boullier got the media talking about his team when there is currently a 5-way, 3-team title fight going on in the series. I believe Petrov has be...

Re: Raikkonen to Renault?
+200 for Kimi speaking his mind about the matter in a way that leaves no one cold: "I want drive for your shitty team ever" -style. Robertson was in contact with Renault, just to look for options, which is his job. Who knows, maybe Renault would have been ready to pay a 15+ million salary ...

Re: Sauber signs Perez
Good signing for Sauber because the Telmex sponsorship is going to be pretty substantial I guess. Yet, I do not think that there will be problems with developing the car. I mean, Sauber's best season was 2001 and they had a similar line-up to that of next year; Heidfeld was in his second full season...

Re: Raikkonen to Renault?
I'm also in the minority who'd like to have Kimi back. A Räikkönen-Kubica tandem would be absolute dynamite, and with Renault looking to buy its shares back from Genii there is a case in point why Räikkönen, or Robertson for that matter, are interested in the team. As far as Petrov is concerned he c...
