Re: Unpopular F1 opinions

....These days the FiA is... barely even there? Especially when it comes to in-race decisions, there hasn't been an in-race DSQ since probably 2007 or 2008 or something, and there have been PLENTY of incidents that have warranted that kind of action*. Re: Sprint races in place of quali being discussed again

Also won't that mean the people who actually pay to sit in the stands get less track action over the weekend, if FP2 is replaced by qualification, and FP3 and quali on Saturday are replaced by a 30 minutes sprint race? Are they banking on spills in the sprint race leading to Parc Fermé breaking fix...

Re: Sprint races in place of quali being discussed again

Seems they may award points for it... In which case, I really really don't like it. The championship should reflect the performance in Grands Prix only, for me. Not performance in quallie, in sprint races, in FP1, in 5 a side, in Esports etc . And it'll devalue the GP. Takes away from the focus on S...

It's an old obsession of mine; brake failures in F1 aren't acceptable . It's the pinnacle of sport, and if they err on the side of caution I'm sure they wouldnt have half the problems

So Haas ..

Thanks for this - a really enjoyable read . Yas Marina in my view isnt that bad as a layout , and the non-F1 categories seem to cope with it quite well in terms of finding a way to race each other . Some might suggest that the "water cooled brakes" was veering more into outright cheating, given that the system wasn't intended to coll the brakes, but to allow the car to run underweight instead. One that might be debatable would be the Ligier JS11, where the team found that the floor w...

There was Piquet losing a perfectly good win in Brazil 1982 for 'water cooled brakes' issue . Not really an innovation that was banned though.
