Re: The forum is 10 years old
Blimey is it really that long, I suppose it is as it's the 10th birthday of the brawn era or as I call it a real changing of the guard season in F1, something I don't think had happened before in F1 (except 1994 when Benetton started a brief dominant period) 2 of the previous years Top teams struggl...

Re: Ponderbox
Formula 5000 was cool back in the day. Better than F3000. Very different intent as well. Formula 3000 was a stepping stone formula whereas Formula 5000 was intended as an alternative series to Formula 1. Speaking of alternatives to F1, I often wonder why one didn't spring up during Japan's 80s boom...

Whilst the next driver who made his debut at Renault after Kubica drove there was of course the legend that is Jolyon Palmer! (not counting the non-debuting drivers in between) I'm cheating, but Jolyon's worth it. You missed a trick there Renault were smart, and knew the only driver around capable ...

Here's a ponder for you. Would an F1 car with the hybrid system "unlimited" and with the right tyres for a single lap be able to beat the Porsche 919 Evo lap record round Spa? I was thinking about it because the Evo had to be heavily modified from WEC regulations to enable it to break the...

Wow, thinking about it, Herbert certainly was a lucky fellow. You can't argue that he didn't take advantage of his opportunities, though. When you compare that he got three wins whilst Alesi only got one says a lot about their careers, I think. While we've agreed he was inconsistent in another thre...

With one race to go in 2017, we've had five extra drivers on the grid this year from the original 20. The last time this happened was 2009, with somewhere between one and four driver changes occurring each season in the interim. Before this, 2006 also had five extra drivers, but we have to go back ...
