Re: What Tracks Will Get the Boot?
Wasn't sure whether to post this here or in the FE forum : http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-birmingham-44003961 The Birmingham Superprix could be making a comeback through the medium of Formula E. Some hyperbole below : West Midlands Mayor Andy Street said he was in "advanced talks" ov...

Re: 2018 Car Launch Thread
Orange and blue, McLaren. Orange and blue! I don't want to sound like Gok Wan here, but that is not a winning combination. Orange and black, orange and white, orange and red, orange and yellow, all fine; orange and blue, not so. I was going to be smart and post something in response with the tradit...

Re: The National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing threa
Man, bathplug Austin Dillon. This, a hundred times over. What an absolute punk move, and you just know NASCAR are going to milk this for all they can given it's 20 years since the #3 won the 500, and 17 years to the day Sr passed away. Oh well, I'll happily take Bubba finishing 2nd. True indeed. To...

Re: No Grid Girls from 2018 onwards
https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/134153/f1-to-end-the-use-of-grid-girls-from-new-season Discuss, I suppose I'm personally not strongly fussed either way. On one hand it's obviously a bit outdated in the current year to have them, but on the other hand grid girls do make up part and parcel of the c...

Re: The Marco Simoncelli MotoGP Thread
For those who've not seen it yet, I won't spoil anything, but the final race of the season, in Valencia, is well worth watching if you get the chance.
It's been a good season overall, pretty much the same as Rob Dylan mentions in the post above throughout the whole year.

Re: 2018 Silly Season
https://twitter.com/tgruener/status/908255759036817408 Can't help but feel McLaren have played a blinder here. Red Bull are likely stranded with that horrendous lump, and unless Honda somehow have a massive turnaround in performance ala Honda in CART between 1994 and 1995 (which isn't going to happ...

Re: The Lucas di Grassi Formula E Thread
Looking at the coverage for this weekend and it's beyond pathetic. 5 are supposedly covering the Saturday race live though the Formula E website says it's a delayed 'as live' broadcast. Unless I'm missing something it looks like they're not showing the final race of the season AT ALL Looks like it ...

Re: The Lucas di Grassi Formula E Thread
I did see the race, and in some ways it went in a similar fashion to the Spanish GP - the top two drivers, in a class of their own, having what turned out to be an interesting battle. Those last few laps I was, however, somewhat worried that Di Grassi would have a dose of brain fade and end up stick...

Re: The Lucas di Grassi Formula E Thread
That was a true classic, the sort of thing that'll be fondly remembered decades afterward. Best race FE has ever had. Yup, great race, very entertaining throughout. I feel as if it was the circuit layout that helped - the cars were 'topping out' so early down the straights that it was pretty much i...

A supplemental HM: Hamilton's sudden concern for not being able to overtake? He had been predicting that they would have difficulty in overtaking pretty much since the new regulations were introduced. I even wonder if, to some extent, he has become so convinced that it would be difficult that he en...

Re: The Marco Simoncelli MotoGP Thread
Missed the F1 race, but managed to see this one. It's the first MotoGP race i've seen since 2014/5, and I must say I was really impressed. Not too sure about all the delays, but once the race got going it was exciting and entertaining from start to finish. It's good to see that Vinales is doing so ...

Re: The Marco Simoncelli MotoGP Thread
Just a quick reminder, as this thread has been so quiet (no posts for 5 months!) that the MotoGP 2017 Season starts this weekend, as well as the F1. For those in the UK without BT Sport, ITV4 have dropped their coverage, much like with Formula E. So, Channel 5 now have the highlights package, it's o...

Re: The Pre-Season Thread: launches, tests and all the rest!
Just seen the pictures of the new Mercedes from its test run at Silverstone. Compared to the Sauber, Renault and Force India it looks very smooth and refined, and no full shark fin (It's more like a horse's mane). That could well be a very bad sign for all the other teams if Merc can get the car wor...
