Podium quiz

https://www.sporcle.com/games/driveride ... -finishers

It's easy... and then you get to about 90% of the way through and you're tearing your hair wondering who the Indy 500 podiumsters are and who was the Swiss driver who got several podiums and that one's got a star to say they're still competing but I've done everyone on the grid at the moment...

Re: What If?

OK here's three for the price of one: 1.What if Jack Brabham hadn't thrown the lead away at the last corner in Monaco and Britain 1970? Those extra points would have given the championship to Jacky Ickx instead... 2.What if Nigel Mansell had managed to squeak past Senna on the line in Spain 1986? Th...

Re: Ponderbox

Well Phoenix moved from June to March and the audience still didn't come in. Austin has been bringing in the crowds so there's obviously Formula 1 interest in that area-or perhaps it's only grown over the last 25-30 years so was it purely the heat that killed off Dallas?

If the Dallas track had actually been scheduled for a sensible time of year(spring or autumn) would it have been able to continue successfully for longer than just one year?

Re: Top 6 best/worst F1 seasons

Choose any from 1989 or 1990 for an enjoyable experience. If you like unexpected faces running at the top and some complete rejectworthiness may I suggest 1989 Canada-wet/dry race, featuring a great inter-team battle, lots of cars lying around the track and how not to start a race properly. 1995 Austr...

Top 6 best/worst F1 seasons

Having been spending a lot of time watching old F1 races in lockdown I've come up with my list of my top 6 best and worst F1 seasons-put up your own too and we can argue about them. For me,any season where one team or driver completely dominates is a bad one, especially if there's not much action beh...

Re: F1 Rewind on F1 YouTube channel

I'm sure a quick scan of YouTube should bring up some. I've been indulging in m the 1984 Canadian Grand Prix. Interesting things to note: Jackie Stewart commentating for CBC The interesting pronunciation of driver and team names- 'Proast','Re-no','Pi-kay'. Despite being World Champion in 1983, Pique...

Re: What Tracks Will Get the Boot?

With the ongoing political situation,it wouldn't be a total surprise if Russia finds itself dropped from the calendar-especially if it escalates-Formula 1 teams travelling to the middle of a war zone wouldn't be too popular.Of course, there is a lot of oligarch-billionaire money floating round and th...

Re: Unusual F1 Stats

Here's one I didn't see mentioned, unless I skimmed past it: Only driver to win 2 consecutive GPs held in the same country : Damon Hill. Damon won the season finale in Adelaide in 1995, then also won the 1996 opener in Melbourne. A very unique record and probably won't be beat anytime soon! Ah not ...

I would also add in: Teams will not be penalized if they do not attend every event. That was what killed off some of the smaller teams in the late 90s-having to trek to races at the end of season they knew they would not do well(or even qualify at),just to avoid the fine.It did for Larrousse in '95-...

OK-remove the huge tarmac areas. Some of them can surely be replaced with grass or gravel,so if you make a mistake and go off,you pay the penalty-you may end up beached or with gravel in the radiator or grass blocking your air ducts or damage to your floor. That's what happens if you go offtrack-you s...
