Re: F1 To Be Split Between BBC 1 and Sky Sports from 2012

I wonder how many times over the next few years we UK non-SKY viewers will learn a race result before the BBC re-run thus making watching it partly redundant? I wonder how many people sign up for SKY and feel a sense of disappointment and annoyance that half of what they've paid for is still availab...

Actually, has there ever been a Reject Team Principle thread or discussion? Campos and Windsor would rank equally rejectfully for me.

As would Craig Pollock.

Re: Unpopular F1 opinions

Martin Brundle isnt a clever as he thinks he is.

Although being a pootling mid-fielder does give you plenty of anecdotes.

Not many about actually winning, though.

Re: Luis Perez Sala

What about Gerhard Berger and Toro Rosso? Now we're getting into the nitty-gritty of success and mediocrity. I would describe Berger and Toro Rosso as the Annakin that brings balance to this discussion. Both neither crap nor, sorry, mega star status. I think Ive trolled enough for one day. Im going...

Re: Colin Kolles Goes Home

The team was pretty much bathplugged under Campos' management & very nearly didn't make it to race at all thanks to his ineptitude. <opens imaginary rule-book> Exactly, Campos never competed as a Team Principle. He was an F1 Team Principle in the same way that Peter Windsor was an F1 Team Princ...

Campos was replaced by Kolles before they had even raced. The theory still stands up.

It will, however, become a confusing tangle of narrative if Michael Schumacher becomes a Team Principle.

Not quite. Paul Stewart was the de facto Team Principle, JYS was, well, Triple World Champion Jackie Stewart.

And Paul Stewart was not a succesful driver.

Vettel is the new Schumacher.

In the sense that while all his competitors are flailing about like drunk monkeys he does just enough to take the wins.

Were it not for his arm-severing helicopter accident Alessandro Nannini would've won a World Drivers Championship in a Benetton before Schumacher.

Re: Unpopular F1 opinions

What I would do if we had the 1-lap qualifying system still in place is that I would make the teams register their cars. So, whenever their driver wants to go out, the team sends someone to Charlie Whiting and his merry men and register their car, then the driver goes out. There will always be one ...
