Re: Champion elimination alternative championship

And we all think Max winning 14 races for real is boring lol. At least next year looks interesting now with all 6 drivers from the top 3 teams out and I see no reason for that pecking order to change unless Ferrari have another shocker. If there's a similar pecking order then I'd put Norris, Ocon as...

Re: Reject of the Race - Mexico 2022

Lewis Hamilton - I’m not sure why yet, I haven’t had time to think of justification yet. Give me time, I’ll come up with something. I’m sure he complained about his tyres at some point, so we’ll go with that for the time being. You made me laugh with that one. Yes he did complain about the hard tyr...

Re: Infinite Improbability Drive of the Race - Mexico 2022

I was about to give him RotR for that silly move but all credit to him - with no other credible nominations I'll have to go for Ricciardo. Made it work and I did not envisage him winning F1.5 under any circumstances.

Merc strategy. At least split it! If they're trying to catch Ferrari for 2nd in the constructors then that would cost them 2023 wind tunnel time. :-) Ferrari You would not think they had a 46-point lead at one point, it feels like they've just given up now. I agree with the penalties for being too l...

Danny Ric. At least Stroll and Bottas showed some decent pace before their respective incidents, and Russell too after it, but he was absolutely nowhere when his teammate was best of the F1.5. .

Horner (and indeed Marko) are two of the most dislikeable people in the whole sport. I don't feel the relatively small punishment is a big deterrent for the other teams not to do the same next year!

It's almost impressive at this point how people will shoehorn a Hamilton nomination in for literally anything. Came second, within a few laps of winning, in the third fastest car, and still gets a nomination. Incredible stuff. Think I was just overly disappointed/frustrated Max got past him on the ...

Here's one that completely got me head-scratching - is Danny Ric SERIOUSLY wanting the go back to the team he chose to leave for pastures new, only to be reserve driver? It seems completely shameful to me. At least Mercedes I would have understood as Hamilton is quite close to retirement age. Even i...

Feel that's a good move for Gasly, he was going nowhere in the Alpha Tauri especially as Red Bull probably won't get a much better #2 than Checo. I always wonder what went wrong with Hakkinen in 2001. I mean he proved he still had it at Barcelona, Silverstone and Indy but so many times he was nowhere. I mean Nurburgring he was only like a second ahead of Irvine's Jag at the end!!

About 1997 I always wonder if they'd have had the balls to still DQ Schumacher from the championship if Villeneuve's car had been too damaged to continue - removing him from 2nd place was trivial in comparison.

I remember watching Imola 1998 or 1999, the one where Häkkinen famously bumped it into the wall on the start straight. The reason I remember it is because of how shocked I was that the car remained there for the rest of the race, always on the TV screen when they would show that start-finish straig...

I know it's done for safety these days but I've been watching quite a few 80s/90s races recently and I really miss just letting the races continue if a car has pulled off with mechanical issues or spun off (I'm primarily referring to pulled completely off the track rather than stopped on track), rat...

Unless he gets tripped over at the start, I still think Max will win from 15th. 3 cars will jump out of the way for him, and can't see anyone else apart from maybe Sainz being able to hold him up.

And I can't see Mercedes winning a race this year based on that qualifying performance.

Ferrari's strategy with Leclerc. Here you go Max, here you go Christian, there's your championships on a platter. 80 points, no coming back from there.

I think with the track limits, if everyone was doing it then the criteria is too harsh. If it was 1 or 2 drivers yes but not nearly everyone!

Otherwise Vettel was pretty poor for a 4-time champion, and Sainz's engine, well that a blow-up from the 80s turbo days!
