Re: Champion elimination alternative championship

Having more than half the field eliminated is mental but I guess part of the reason for that is teams seemingly preferring experienced drivers like Haas and now Alpha Tauri. Indeed of the bottom 4 teams, all of them have a driver eliminated with Albon and Bottas completing the group.

Re: Infinite Improbability Drive of the Race - Hungary 2023

I will tie it between Red Bull for breaking the consecutive wins record (yes it was boring but that doesn't happen everyday. I thought McLaren's 1988 record would never be broken) and McLaren themselves because I didn't expect them to carry over their Silverstone form here. But both are kinda tenuou...

Having had Big Zeddie cover 2000 on YouTube, and me do an alternative championship for that year along with it (ie lose Ferrari and McLaren and see what you're left with) - Fisichella scored 49 points up to Canada and 3 for the rest of the year :-)

Never thought De Vries should have been in that seat anyway - he's essentially a Mercedes man and having him in their arch-rivals' squad didn't really fit for me. If anything he should have been in a Williams. Checo better watch it!

Re: Reject of the Race - Austria 2023

I find it quite interesting that Hamilton has got countless shouts for airing his frustrations over the team radio, but not a single shout for Sainz for his pathetic attempts to get a penalty for Perez. It wasn't great but at least Fred didn't have to tell Carlos off like Toto did, PLUS he could sa...

Checo to me is a lot like Fisichella - great in midfield cars but struggles at a top team when they're up against a truly great driver in Max or Alonso for Fisi. I had to go back through this to remind myself when Hulkenberg won (because he obviously isn't in the 2023 line-up). Zhou was the only one who finished much higher than you would expect, once Tsunoda's penalty kicked in.

What if Damon Hill had joined Jordan a year earlier? Probably would have scored their first win a year early, given how good the Jordan was in 1997, no offence to Ralf or Fisichella but a more experienced driver certainly could and would have won a race. I said the same on Big Zeddie's YouTube chan...

Stroll to be out of the points when his teammate is on the podium was just about the only thing standout here. Has to be Yuki really. A Red Bull 1-2 even if it was the opposite way round to what was expected thought it was a specialist circuit for Checo, the chasing 3 teams covering 3rd to 8th and Lando top of F1.5 is all expected I guess.
