Re: The Jacques Villeneuve Music Thread

As a songwriter myself, I'm completely aware of that need to sound and appear original to contemporaries around me, as well as presenting something new against what's happened in the greater music scene. It's hard to explain how difficult that is. The last 10 years seem to consist of a divide in the...

The Bond canon wouldn't be as damn confusing if they didn't have that graveyard scene at the beginning of For Your Eyes Only. Most of the different actors appear to be living their own separate timelines, but when they did stuff like that it just got super confusing. Make up your own canon, it makes...

Re: The 2017 Silly Season thread

With Ferrari and Red Bull having their lineup pretty much locked for the coming years, Rosberg going to Renault is an interesting suggestion. I think the guy's possibly pushing to get a seat at Williams for a year or two as he waits for another chance at a team with a title shot. But yeah, if Renaul...

<slow clap> But yeah the BBC has a lot to answer for when you factor in the amount of money its executives receive in pensions alone. There are also apparently hundreds of executives. When considering the amount of expenditure which merely goes into salaries for BBC staff, one might describe it as c...

My entire first viewing of The Force Awakens was me wondering what to expect. There were so many ways the story could have gone, and I had managed to avoid all trailers and commentary before the film had begun, so I had absolutely no idea what was going to happen. I remember looking back on 2008 and how Hamilton and Kovalainen (to my knowledge anyway) never shared a podium as teammates, even though they were fighting for the championship. Or at least one was. I dunno they were teammates for 2 full seasons in super cars so you'd expect at least one shared podi...

It's never really been made clear as to the influence the Mercedes drivers really have over the management. In Red Bull, Vettel's influence was obvious due to Helmut Marko's presence everywhere. But with Wolff's comments that sound like he's treating Nico and Lewis like two young rascals, I'm not su...

Seeing as Mr Alguersuari has retired (an event I have apparently been completely oblivious to this whole time!), what's the youngest a driver has been at their final F1 race. I mean, Jaime was only 21, so he has to be close to the youngest, right?

I've kind of gone polar opposite to what I was like 2/3 years ago. I used be a member on F1Fanatic for a couple of years, but there really isn't room for those of differing thought from "Vettel / Hamilton / Raikkonen are the only drivers that are worth anything on the grid" mentality. I'd ...

Well if you go back to like 2001/2002, that was 17 races starting at the beginning of March and finishing at the middle/end of October with races at regular intervals. So keep the large summer break they currently have, have 16 races with the calendar beginning at the usual mid-March, and maybe add ...
