The F3000 Thread
I don't know if anyone shares my interest, but I love watching clips from the old F3000 series and seeing the stars (and rejects) before they were famous. Also checking out races like the long gone Pau and Birmingham street circuits. I for one would love to see the Birmingham Superprix return to mot...

I'd like to thank the Tamburello corner and broken suspension. 1994 I'd like to thank Jochan Mass for not knowing how to get the f*ck out the way. 1982 If you thought I was an ass now, wait till next year! 2006 I definitely earned this championship on my own merits and not my cars. 1997 I'd like to ...

Jeff Gordon was able to step into a Williams on a track he never saw before and not having any open wheel experience... This wasn't the first time Jeff had driven an open wheel car. About a decade before, Jeff was given a test in a Formula Super Vee and within a handful of laps was equaling the qua...

I would even wager that Dale Junior isn't even much of an oval man judging by how bad he's been driving lately... He hasn't had a great season, but he still has a decent shot at making the chase. I think his seperation from Tony Eury Jr has a lot do with why he has struggled, particularly when comp...

Speaking of Penske, since American constructors seem to have a hard time getting into F1 - USF1 only succeeded in producing a nosecone, and Cypher has no money - why don't they just come back? It would be interesting. Never gonna happen. 1. Roger isn't the kind of guy who goes racing unless he has ...

Finally... I thought we settled this "wings should never flex" debate years ago? I really hope the new tests bring the performance of the Redbull and Ferrari back down to the McLaren. We have the best WDC fight since 1986 going on right now, and leave it to the same old nonsense to f*ck it...

I really like Schumacher (and he's why I got interested in Formula One) You do realize that for any non-german, that's like saying "I really like Nazis (And they're why I got interested in World War II)"? It's not really. I'm the same, as I imagine many people who got in to F1 in the late...

Personally, I think it's a shame that Jeff Gordon wound up in NASCAR - IIRC he drove a Williams around Indy in 2003, and found himself quite comfortable with the car. If he had wound up in F1, I reckon he would've won at least one world championship, and probably more. I think the fact that he abso...

Nowadays that may be true, but imagine if he'd signed for Benetton in 1994...pretty sure Schumacher would have been put in his place off-track if not on it! Did that almost happen? I can't stand team orders. I can't argue with the fact that they are sensible from a manufacturer's standpoint, but I hate that they interfere with racing. I'm a little curious as to why they have chosen to focus primarily on the 1968-1982 period. Sounds like its a documentary about the Cosworth DFV, or at the very least, the DFV era. Should be good, after 1979 you never really saw the cars drift through the corners the way they used to. Chalk it up t...

So why is it that Prodrive is held in higher esteem? Simple, Prodrive despite its previous failed attempt to enter F1 has a 20+ year history of successful racing in other prestigious categories (ALMS, LMES, WRC, ETCC). Up until about 18 months ago, USF1 didn't exist. Lets be realistic, as much as I...
