Re: Button for the chop??

To be honest, having a 14th, 18th, 16th and 16th position in this McLaren car seems like woeful underperformance- you might think it cruel to say but you only have to look at his win and his 2nd place to start pondering. Let's be frank- his qualifying has been abysmal and his race strategies have su...

Re: 2012 Canadian Grand Prix Discussion Thread

Grosjean is clearly just a liability when it comes to early laps of racing and close-quarters battles, but quite pacey over a timed-lap. Raikkonen has been stunningly conservative with his race strategy and attitude on the track and it's starting to cost him over his teammate. I assume he thinks he ...

Whatever move he makes, he can't be someone's number two.

With Vettel, Alonso and Hamilton- the now clear best three drivers in the sport, that rules out 3 teams.

Perez is going to have to be patient or he will burn out.

Re: Your Reject of the Race - Monaco

I do think the Pirelli nomination is justified. We knew they had the ability to prevent a procession single handedly but instead made it possible to go for 50 laps on one set of tyres. Dismal showing by them. DRS was hardly talked about- maybe they should just allow it all the way around the track? ...

My thoughts on some of your suggestions.... De Cesaris- too many decent results. He is a serious consideration but has major results for lower ranked teams throughout his whole career. Longest career in F1 without really doing anything

Fairly self-explanatory. It's difficult to have a long career in F1 if your results are continually mediocre. Sponsors want that breakthrough performance, the team wants to know you can occasionally make the car do things they didn't expect. However many have hung around for a long while, rarely exc...

I think Button is a great overtaker, the key is 100% commitment to the move. That assertiveness makes other drivers yield. His driving style isn't very aggressive but I bet he must've pulled off the most overtakes in F1 since 2009.
