My top 3 are: Chequered flag guy for obvious reasons Lance Stroll - Just embarrassing, not to mention he put Hartley's health (drive?) at risk McLaren - They've really fallen back since Australia, this was a performance comparable to something from the Honda days It must be said, I agree that this r...

Even if the rules were changed successfully to make that work, I'm sure engineers would still design the cars to produce some turbulent air for the drivers behind. It's not that simple IMO.

Re: Your own driver rankings
Bumping this thread after almost exactly 5 years (not-premeditated, I swear!), I've recently decided to do end-of-year rankings for old F1 seasons again, in this case 1997-99. 1997 gave me a real headache, it was so hard to remain unbiased, especially when so many drivers had good seasons! I might d...

Wow, thinking about it, Herbert certainly was a lucky fellow. You can't argue that he didn't take advantage of his opportunities, though. When you compare that he got three wins whilst Alesi only got one says a lot about their careers, I think. While we've agreed he was inconsistent in another thre...

I don't mean to bash him again, and he did nothing particularly bad in the race, but Verstappen gets a nomination from me. Had he not crashed in FP3, it could've been him standing on the top step instead of his teammate! And also Leclerc's luck with regards to the brake failure, let's hope this isn'...

Re: 2018 Indy 500 Support Race: LIVE from Monte Carlo
Given how Max scored the most points of anyone after Singapore, and how easily he had the measure of Ricciardo at the end of last year, I'm surprised at how badly Verstappen has thrown away his momentum going into 2018. Then again, perhaps I shouldn't be. As many have said, we haven't seen him make ...

Grosjean is my pick again. I believe we'll have our first back-2-back winner since Kimi for his last two races at Lotus in 2013 if Romain 'wins' (sorry if that's a bit of a mouthful ).

Changing my vote from debris to Magnussen, for that ugly bit of driving, as well as effectively causing Bottas' puncture. The FIA/stewards ought to have thrown the book at him, I'd give him a 10-place grid drop for Spain at least, never mind a time penalty.

Although I'm a huge Alesi fan, I agree that Jean wasn't the best when it came to consistency and making big decisions. He had some really stupid moments [ "Ohhhhhhhh Jean, you've got a major problem, sunshine!" ] and perhaps he should've signed for Williams in 1990 (I feel he had the speed...

I believe that's the first race since 2015 where we've had 3 different leaders, on merit that is! That's something which has been a regularity at times in the past! It wasn't that fun to watch at first, but I think I might end up savouring this one more than last week's Bahrain GP.

I've been of the opinion that if DRS exists, drivers should be free to use it whenever they want to during the race. Looking at the lap time data for the race, I noticed some trivial but interesting details: - Hamilton was the fastest driver on 26 individual green-flag laps, while Vettel was the fastest on just 13. The race in Baku this year would be near the top of my list (it's definitely the best one I've seen from F1 since I started watching it in 2010). From 2011 onwards, I loved Abu Dhabi and Italy 2012, Bahrain, Canada and Hungary 2014, Hungary and USA 2015, & Spain and Austria 2016. There's Canada ...

Hamilton and Vettel have more luck than the rest of the field IMO (today isn't completely the case). Most of the race was enthralling, I w...
