1. Esteban Ocon. Almost a podium, kept cool much of the race.

2. Lewis Hamilton's front wing. Hit Ocon and Verstappen and didn't break down badly enough to warrant pit stop.

Re: The End of David Coulthard's Championship Dreams

There's a small mistake regarding Nürburgring race. Schumacher was aware that his T-car had some problems and went for a shakedown - with car stopping on track. He then took his race car and won.

1. McLaren. Norris puncture was his own doing IMO but Ricciardo DNF combined with good race by Ferrari was really bad for WCC.

2. Yuki Tsunoda. Ironically, the safety car caused by his clash with Stroll benefitted Hamilton in the battle against Red Bull.

1. Lewis Hamilton. Yes, Mercedes was clearly the fastest car but still to win the race after all the penalties was notable.

2. Nikita Mazepin. Not doing anything wrong while his team-mate damaged front wing and finished behind.

Alguersuari was in talks with Lotus/Renault before he was persuaded to stay with Red Bull family and then in the end he and Buemi were replaced by Ricciardo and Vergne. And at that point there was no other place to go but if there was no Kimi in Lotus there might have been a drive available.
