Re: The _TCC Series Thread
The champagne's only just been washed out of Andy Jordan's overalls, and already we have a couple of important announcements about the 2014 BTCC season. 1. Honda-Yuasa-Dynamics will switch from the Civic Type-R to a new unspecified model, to be revealed later in the year. I read a rumour in the offi...

Re: Extended Project about Ferrari 1979-2000
Alan Henry wrote a book called Ferrari: the Battle for Revival in the mid-1990s. I don't own it, and it's been several years since I flicked through it in a second-hand bookshop, but I believe it covers your topic very well. There are cheap used copies on Amazon and Abebooks, so it could be worth bu...

Re: How did pacific gp get its name?
On the subject of Pacific, I've just noticed that last week's issue of Autosport features an interview with Oliver Gavin. Most of it covers his current role as a works Corvette driver, but there is also a sidebar on his almost-F1 adventures with Pacific. I'll scan it when I next have the chance. He...

Re: Foreign born F1 drivers
Jochen Rindt was Austrian, but born in Germany. So they wouldn't have had to wait so long for Schumacher to come along and give them their first title. I thought that Rindt thought of himself as German rather than Austrian (being born in Germany to German parents, but having to be raised by his gra...

Unfortunately from a statistical domination point of view, Cammish has decided to step down from the final two meetings of the year to give another driver a chance in the JTR team. I expect to see him in the BTCC next year.

Re: Retrospective F1 Rejects of the Race
One team that did have an awful year was Footwork Arrows. They had a reasonably competitive car at the start of the season and looked a challenger for the minor points and the top 10. But the moment Tom Walkinshaw bought the team, they just gave up on the season. Plus, sending Verstappen back on tr...

Re: High Resolution Formula One Images
My first point of reference for distinguishing the FW11 from the FW11B is that the FW11B has a fully dark-blue nose tip, whereas the area under the plane of the front wing is white on the FW11. Compare FW11 with FW11B . So it is solved. And though I would usually pride myself on being able to spot ...

Re: Formula Ford: A Joke
I think Formula Ford is really struggling in its first year with wings, so to speak. Also, the fact that a 24-year-old-driver with a lot of prior experience in higher categories is racing for the best team in a Formula Four-level series has got to count for something. Anyway, Fords are no longer co...

He's a good driver, but he does have significantly more experience at this level than the rest of the field, except Jayde Kruger, who is nevertheless having to learn all the British circuits and joined the championship late.
