Re: Reject Engines...
The 2002 Mercedes engine had horrible reliability, especially on Räikkönen. But of course, it isn't even close to the ones mentioned here earlier in terms of rejectdom. The '96 Mercedes engine apparently wasn't brilliant either. Loads of mapping problems and power delivery that Hakkinen & Coult...

Re: Reject of the year 2000, 2001 and 2002??
1st- Damon Hill: The second former champion on the podium, takes the crown with his lukewarm attitude to the season. Granted, Villeneuve scored no points all year, but he had a poor car that no one could score points in, though Salo came close. Damon scored 7, in the same car that H-H Frentzen made...

Re: Your Reject of the Race - China
There should be also a honorable mention to the Chinese GP organizers that played the English anthem instead of the Austrian one! Good spot, actually. I was wondering the same thing, myself. My RotR has to be Renault . Annoying throughout the week claiming that this diffuser was 100% illegal and ye...

I actually don't hate any of them anymore.
I think Hamilton needs to accept that he values winning over everything else and stop pretending to be some innocent little lamb whenever someone sticks a microphone under his nose, but otherwise they're all okay.

Re: Your Reject of the Race - China
Piquet - Accident littered performance. Flavio will want to think about docking 3 front nose cones from his pay cheque this month. Nakajima - Accident littered performance that finished with him parking it in the pit garage. Although his off road excursions were less damaging than Piquet's. Hamilton...

Re: Chinese GP Race Discussion
Would've been interesting to see where Massa would've ended up, he was only a couple of laps lighter than the McLarens, and unlike Raikkonen, was showing some level of race pace. Pity.
Good race otherwise.

Re: Flav on the warpath
His team was never going to win the World Championship, even if the FIA got everyone to replace their diffusers with bricks. Interesting question though, if the big-hitters don't catch up, will the novelty of Brawn hegemony wane and it'll become as boring as Ferrari hegemony of the early 2000s? I kn...

Re: Perfect Season Calender
I read your start and was sceptical that Suzuka wasn't near the end, but then I read your final four rounds, and now I think that your fantasy calendar is probably the best.
I thank you. Although I just realised Laguna Seca's only 2.2 miles. Wonder would that be a little tight.

3) Japan: Aida a/k/a Okayama maybe alternating with Autopolis Aida? That short, narrow twisty thing in the middle of nowhere? Odd choice... Anyway, trying to be realistic: 1) Australia - Albert Park, Melbourne 2) Japan - Suzuka 3) Malaysia - Sepang 4) Singapore -Singapore 5) San Marino - Imola. Oka...

Re: British GP Track Wars VI- The return of Donington Park
1- The nearest train station to the track, is over three miles from it, and the train service in the area is notoriously poor. 2- The buses, though good, would not be able to cope with the projected thousands of fans heading to the circuit. Classic FIA blundering. Any known plans to sort that? And ...

THE IMMORTAL WORDS OF DELETRAZ: "I am very happy to be returning to Formula One and we will work hard together to make this a competitive end to the season. Although the Pacific team is quite small, they have a lot of motivation and I think everyone knows that Keith Wiggins is determined to mak...

Re: Kimi And Massa Not Good For Ferrari
I have been watching F1 for quite a long time now. I think current Ferrari drivers, Massa and Kimi are not driving to their potential. Both have made lots of errors during period of last 2 years. When Ferrari was clearly the best car, they drove horribly and came close to losing (Kimi-2007) OR lost...

Re: Reject Seasons
94 is probably the best candidate, between Wendlinger, Barrichello, Senna, Verstappen, Montermini and Ratzenberger all having horrible accidents, and the litany of reject drivers that snaked into the sport. Although I have a certain fondness for it because of the Grand Prix 2 video game. 2002 would ...

Re: Malaysian GP Race discussion
ROTR has to be the race start time. Okay, no one could've predicted a few months ago when it was going to rain today, but they could've predicted what rain during the race would do to the light and visibility. Although Kovalainen deserves an honourable mention for ROTR for falling off the track afte...

Re: Phoenix / Dart F1 "team"?
It was a scheme by Tom walkinshaw to get his buddy to buy Prost, run the team for a few races and then merge the teams, (and Prost's share of the TV revenue from 2001). Unfortunately for Tom and his buddy they didn't buy the team, they just bought some old race cars from the bankruptcy auction, aft...

Re: Hamilton/Trulli incident re-examined / Hamilton disqualified
The thing I don't understand is why they ever suggested to Lewis to give the place back in the first place. If Trulli went off wide under the safety car, then the pass is OK, surely. Why McLaren told Hamilton first to give the place back before seeking clarification from Charlie is bizarre to me. T...

Phoenix / Dart F1 "team"?
Anyone know anything about this? I've seen a throwaway mention or two about a buddy of Tom Walkinshaw's buying Prost's assets, and attempting to enter the Malaysian Grand Prix in 02 or 03 with some old chassis, older Brian Hart tuned engines and Gaston Mazzacane to drive, and having their entry reje...

Paul Tracy- Tested for Benetton in the mid 90s sometime, but probably not picked up because Schumi didn't want a strong teammate. But Tracy was also known for a lot of silly smashes, such as crashing his teammate out at Detroit during a CART event and then winning the race! Also, in 1995, Sam Posey...

Re: Your Favourite Reject RACE????
Back to Paul Ricard I say! I think my favourite French race track of all time would have to be Rouen-Les-Essarts, closely followed by Dijon. Sadly I don't think I will ever see an F1 race back at either of these venues. I think that Rouen, Dijon and Clermont-Ferrand were much better tracks than Pau...

Re: Submit A Reject
Hmmm... Indeed. Mr. Tarquini has but a single World Championship point, I thought he had more than that. So he's a good call. Was around F1 for a good while, it'd be interesting to know why he never got a half decent car to work with. Other than that, Tommy Byrne would be good. But there's not much ...

It is a good book (if you like reading loads of swear words), and he was clearly a driver with some talent. Leaving the McLaren test aside, you have to wonder what would've happened if whatever he thinks had broken on his Theodore in Austria had stayed in good nick and he'd qualified in the 13th pla...
