I saw a documentary last year about how the modern, advanced, rich waterfront / promenade image which Azerbaijan is trying to promote via these high-profile events hides some worrying issues beneath the surface, but perhaps that's opening the usual can of worms about sport and politics and human ri...

Re: Roland Ratzenberger 1960 - 1994
Im not so sure Ferrim. By the 90s coverage of F1 was broader than in the 60s and 70s and I remember clearly Ratzenbergers death being a big feature of the evening news that Saturday night, it wouldnt be easily forgotten about. Yeah, that's a point I thought about as well. But I still think he would...

Re: Roland Ratzenberger 1960 - 1994
I might have already made this point in these forums, but I believe it's precisely Senna's death what makes Ratzenberger to be remembered, and not the other way around like we use to say. I mean, does anyone see people remembering Ricardo Paletti on June 13th? Or Elio de Angelis, who even won races,...

Meanwhile, in a parallel universe, the flag guy of the 2008 Brazilian GP happens to be a Brazilian with big knowledge of the F1 rulebook, who decides to wave the flag as Massa comes by to complete lap 70. Can i nominate Webber for having his reputation slowly decreasing with every performance by Ricciardo? It's showing that 2013 probably was one year too many for him. Although I think he would have been closer this year, without exhausts' blowing. Anyway, it has to be between Räikkönen, McLaren and ...

Can't see Brawn back to be honest. He has nothing left to do in F1, and he'll probably feel too old and the next big rule change is too long in the future. It would be much pain, without guarantee of success - and even in success, he could always find himself in a situation on which he ends up displ...

Terrific news! I fully understand he will never again be the man he was before December 29, which remains tragic. To be honest, I prefer dry races these days. Nowadays, wet races consist of a few laps in a track dry enough for intermediate tyres, and everyone switching to slicks within 10 laps, after an absurdly long SC period that wasn't needed in the first place. Not my cup of tea.

In 1995, there were 130 mechanical failures, or ~31.1% of the entries. No year since then has beaten either figure. We can do it. It's possible.
