The Sky team were debating the "last available seat" at Williams during FP1; they offered up - Kubica - Di Resta - Palmer - Massa What about Kvyat? Expected to stay put at Toro Rosso. In this currently fast-shifting landscape he actually represents stability and a benchmark for any newbie.

Singapore was also the setting for classic 80s TV show Tenko which told the story of the women POWs held there when the Japanese invaded and occupied the country.

At no point was Grand Prix racing mentioned during its run.

Am I the only person who thinks McLaren is simply trading one not-great engine for another?

I'm not sure it matters either way for Alonso's championship aspirations. Or race wins come to that.

I though the race was average and for once I felt the TV race director did a pretty good job of improving a slightly dull show. I felt there were a few more onboard camera sections of cars blasting though L'eau rouge, for example, than there has been in recent years (I may be imagining that, though)...
