Von Hoff announce campaign for 1955:
Baviera baron, Trod von Hoff, has announced that, after entering the season finale for the 1954 Formula One World Champioship, in Italy, he will go for a 1955 campaign for the 1955 Season, entering select events. He's revealed the team will use an updated version of the TVHR100, used in the mentioned race. Fritz Riess won't return to drive the car, although, von Hoff revelead that Riess will continue to develop the car outside races, in order to slowly bring the team forward. The engine will be the OSCA unit used at Monza. The team will run at all European races, so they won't run the Moroccan Grand Prix and the Soviet Grand Prix, with the Baron quoting: "Running in those communist bastards ground? NEVER".

For customer teams I would like to point out that O.S.C.A. has cheap, top-level cars on offer: 27 500 for an O.S.C.A. 154 chassis, 17 500 for an O.S.C.A. 156s engine.

Maria Teresa de Filippis will run one car (154 chassis 2/156s engine 2) for the full season.

If the asking price was a bit Cheaper 1000-2500 I would consider it.

Tommy, I now have new chassis and engines after the deal with This. Could I also sell my 1954 engine and chassis back to the company?

OK, so my final offer is this;

17500 for two Ultimate chassis and two Merc engines, plus you throw in your 1954 engine. You can keep the '54 chassis for yourself.

Once i know the budget for Porsche i will submit the plans, but the plan is that Porsche will only built engines right now.

And you get £150 000, which should be enough to build a good engine.

pi314159 wrote:For customer teams I would like to point out that O.S.C.A. has cheap, top-level cars on offer: 27 500 for an O.S.C.A. 154 chassis, 17 500 for an O.S.C.A. 156s engine.

Maria Teresa de Filippis will run one car (154 chassis 2/156s engine 2) for the full season.

De Filippis has brought me to announce how the driver RNG will work.

Every team should post how many cars tops they intend on running this season. For each of these cars, every team needs to nominate ten drivers they would like to see in that car. The same driver can be named in different lists, of course.

At the end of the deadline, if a team's first choice for a car has only that team where he is the first choice, he has a 95% chance of signing for them and a 5% chance of waiting for another offer. If a driver refuses a team's offer, he is removed from that particular list. Any ties for the first pick result in an RNG between every team involved.

Once a driver signs for the team, he can still drive for other teams, but only with that team's permission. If a team decides to expand mid-season, they can choose from unsigned drivers or ask other teams to lend them their driver.

The deadline to submit your top ten picks is Sunday December 7th 2014 at noon CET.

If you haven't submitted picks, you are not disqualified from the season, but you will have to settle for drivers who haven't been picked yet.

The sole exception for this is driver/owners. If a driver owns his/her team, he/she will not be subjected to RNG, unless he/she wishes to drive for other teams. The drivers concerned by this are Jacques Swaters, David Hampshire, Maria Teresa de Filippis, Cliff Bergere, Geoff Richardson and Bernie Ecclestone (assuming Klon follows through on his plans).

Alright, here's some development for you:

1) From now on the entry that was "Mercedes-Benz Team Europe" is now "Bernie C. Ecclestone"
2) Said entry moves location, its new "HQ" is in Bexleyheath, United Kingdom
3) Bernie C. Ecclestone purchases three Bentley 16VL-1 engines from Bentley for a total sum of £54,000, engine designations TBC.
4) Ecclestone will enter all races except the Dutch Grand Prix with this entry:
3. TBA (Bernie C. Ecclestone) - Mercedes WM-2 chassis 1, engine TBA
And the Monaco, French, Italian, Portugese and Moroccan Grand Prix with the following entry:
4. Bernie Ecclestone (Bernie C. Ecclestone) - Mercedes WM-2 chassis 2, engine TBA
And the Belgian, British, Scottish, Soviet and German Grand Prix with the following entry:
4. TBA (Bernie C. Ecclestone) - Mercedes WM-2 chassis 2, engine TBA

I think that's it ... oh yeah, and obviously Ecclestone doesn't produce new Mercedes-Benz engines, so they aren't for sale anymore.

Driver Choices for the full-time car:
Hernando da Silva Ramos
Jack Brabham
Consalvo Sanesi
Tony Bettenhausen
Dries van der Lof
Giuseppe Farina
Porfirio Rubirosa
Maurice Trintignant
Stirling Moss
Edgar Barth

Driver Choices for the part-time car:
Stuart Lewis-Evans
Fritz Huschke von Hanstein
Juan Manuel Fangio (in that case the entries will be adjusted to account for his recovery)
Ray Amm
Phil Hill
Richard von Frankenberg
Jack McGrath
Bill Pitt
Keith Campbell

Hampshire Racing Alliance planning to run two cars in 1955

After a highly successful season in Formula One last year, scoring points at the Great British and American rounds of the championship, David Hampshire and his eponymous squad are planning for bigger and better things in 1955.
"Last year was undoubtedly the best season of my career so far, and I hope to be able to build upon that this year" said Hampshire, 37. "The team I've built from scratch has been fantastic. It will be tougher this year, considering the calibre of the opposition, but with them behind me, and the quality equipment that Bentley have provided for us, I'm sure we'll be troubling the points positions again".

Part of the plans for 1955 involve expanding the team to run a second car at certain events of the season. Hampshire told us that he aims to purchase a new Bentley Speed 4 chassis and 16VL-1 engine before the start of the season, to be raced by himself, and that the car used last year will be entered at most of the European rounds of the championship, bar the season-opener at Monaco.

"We tried running a two car effort a few years back, when we didn't have the resources to get one car competitive, let alone two. But after the success of last season, I feel we have the finances and experience to do so. We are currently talking with several young drivers around the country, and hopefully we will find a decent chap for the second car".

Whilst Hampshire is young in comparison to some of the drivers in the championship, he admits he is considering retiring from full-time competition in the next few years

"I love my racing, but at the same time I have a wife, two daughters and a son. I do want to be able to spend more time with them. The aim at the moment is to do a few more seasons full-time, hopefully get a great result at my home race in the future, and then move into managing the team, although I will still enter the odd race or two. I want to build a great team for the future."

David Hampshire will enter all of the rounds this season. The second HRA car will be entered at all rounds apart from Monaco, USSR, and Morocco. Driver(s) TBA.

HRA will purchase a new Speed 4 chassis and and 16VL-1 engine from Bentley.

British Racing Motors to return to Formula One

Having entered two rounds in 1951, BRM will return to Formula One under the "Owen Racing Organisation" banner. Raymond Mays founded the team in 1945, entering in multiple hillclimb and road events. He brought the team into Grand Prix racing for 1951, but the team suffered financial issues and could not return for the following year. This was until Alfred Owen, the owner of the Rubery Owen engineering company, bought the BRM team with the intent of returning the marque to Formula One.

The team will purchase a chassis and engine for use in 1955, whilst Owen's team of engineers based in Bourne, Lincolnshire set to work on a bespoke car for the following season. BRM have experience in building their own chassis, but having been out of the sport for several years Owen thought it imperative to reassess the demands of modern machinery in order to be competitive. BRM then intend to produce their own chassis and engines for future use to ensure their future is in their own hands, with intent to supply privateer teams.

It is unknown at the moment which chassis and engines the team will purchase, but Owen will be looking for a good deal in order to divert finances to the development of BRM's 1956 car. They will be entering one car full-time for 1955, and two cars full-time for 1956 once they've produced their own car and engine.

So, offers go out to the following drivers:

Tony Brooks
Roy Salvadori
Kenneth McAlpine
Robin Montgomery-Charrington
Desmond Titterington
Jack Fairman

*ENB will put up all their chassis for sale after the Belgian GP (except for the Osca, which is outsourced), in order to save money to build a Cooper works chassis. Prices are negotiable. (edit, the engines will not be sold)

*ENB will run their 3 operational cars only in the Belgian GP, and possibly in the German GP, in case they aren't sold yet. Possibly they will return in the end of the year with a Cooper works car.

*As Jacques Swaters will now try to make it as a driver, the management of ENB will be left to the experienced former driver Artur Legat.

*For drivers, i offer for André Milhoux, Lucien Bianchi, Olivier Gendebien, Leon Dernier, Georges Berger, Roger Laurent, Paul Frère, Jacques Swaters, André Pilette and Johnny Claes. However, when they sign for another year at ENB all previously agreed deals with other teams will be honoured.

*I kept on requesting to repair that damn Bentley engine, please please please?

Having been lured into the Bentley-OSCA negotiation room with cigars and rum, Alfred Owen has shelled out on the following:

- Bentley are repairing that old Speed 4 chassis for us, and we're giving them 15k for it after it's been checked over by "Rusty", BRM's top mechanic and owner of "Mr. Rusty's Victorian Tea Room".
- We are buying a brand new Bentley 16VL-1 engine for 20k.
- We are also buying a formerly-works OSCA 156s engine for 15k.

So, essentially, what you're doing with Cooper is building the chassis on their behalf, yes? ENB isn't Cooper itself, but rather where the chassis is built?

And finally, for your Belgian Grand Prix entry, you have so many possible car combinations that I'll have to ask you to be more specific ;)

Pretty much good. The only problem is that you didn't specify which 156s engine was sold/bought.

Jack Brabham
Robert Manzon
Johnnie Claes
Stan Jones
Rudi Fischer
Louis Chiron
Aldo Gordini
André Pilette
Maurice Trintignant

For simplicity's sake, I kept both entries open, and I've got you down as running a JAMR-style operation. Combined, you have plans for the 1953 Leader chassis, the 1954 Balkan Lion engine plus one of each. On top of that, you have a 1953 Alfa Romeo chassis and a 1954 O.S.C.A. engine.. You also have £25 093.

Also, there is no United States Grand Prix this year :P

While you get everything sorted out, I haven't entered you into any races, but entry list sizes aren't limited, so take all the time you need.

Still have to think about that. There is time, I believe.

Now I want to design another top of the line chassis called AR161 and another top of the line engine called AR2V8. Both will be available at command for the prices of 30000 the chassis and 18000 the engine. Which will make old AR160 and old engine ARV8 will no longer be available to customers except by request and pending negotiation for the next two seasons only.

Vanwall will spend 70 000 pounds to design a chassis called VW 55 and 60 000 pounds to develop an engine called Vanwall 254. Two examples of both will be built to form our factory team for this season, and these two cars are going to be entered for the full season. The chassis will also be available for customers on command for 25 000 and the engine for 20 000, or both can be bought as a bundle for 40 000.

tommykl wrote:I think you mean the chassis :P

So, essentially, what you're doing with Cooper is building the chassis on their behalf, yes? ENB isn't Cooper itself, but rather where the chassis is built?

And finally, for your Belgian Grand Prix entry, you have so many possible car combinations that I'll have to ask you to be more specific ;)

Yeah, ENB buys a car from Cooper, a car specifically built for F1. So ENB will pay full building costs to Cooper Car Company. Cooper Car Company itself is not entered in the series, so a separate count for them is not necessairy. ENB just pays what a regular constructor would pay. A big part of my explanation is just backstory. I hope i finally managed to explain things properly now  It means that i don't ask for a bigger budget, but that i'm willing to work with what i currently have.

But the novelty is, that other privateers can co-engage in design and upgrade costs, to get a semi-works status, and will receive the very same spec cars. Instead of selling cars, the idea is to share the costs, as this will be for the benefit of a lot of smaller garagiste teams. Instead of purchasing, they will have to pay the building cost. But they'll have to do that with any other customer car too, unless other constructors sell their car on a loss, but that's not my problem. It's still cheaper because of the sharing of design costs and update costs. Of course, old cars will be available for sale eventually, and incoming sale money will be equally distributed between all teams that engaged in the design of that specific model, and will not go only to ENB.
Interested teams can state their intentions to co-develop the Cooper T40 until the entrance deadline for the second race in a pm, so i will know what budget will be available and how many cars will have to be built. It will have an engine in the back! (i will make a document where i keep track of other teams involved, because if i don't, it will become a mess)

For the Belgian GP i will enter these cars. And for the German GP, the same combinations will be provisionally entered.
Bentley Speed 4 chassis 1+Bentley 16VL-1 engine 1
Aston Martin AM-04 chassis 6+Jaguar JFE-2 engine 5
Ferrari 555 chassis 8 + Jaguar JFE-2 engine 7
I don't know what i want and i want it now!

Excellent. I now want to build one AR161 and one AR2V8 and test them against the AR160 1/ARV8 1 combination. I want to know these test results before deciding anything else.

We will only enter 1 car and engine through the season, albeit two drivers will drive through the season, one for european races and one for the 2 non-european races.
Furthermore, here's a list of candidates for drive:
Europa
Bob Sweikert
Don Freeland
Roberto Mieres
Cesare Perdisa
Cliff Griffith

Bill Vukovich
Jimmy Bryan
Jack McGrath
