We'll deploy our spare and ask Richard Shepherd-Barron to drive it. We'll also start building a new Plus 4 SS LT.

Saab will order two Saab 60s to replace Olsen and Larsen's (deadly slow) stock 96s (that's cars #961 and #962) which will be deployed from Round 5, with the whole team entering the next six races (Rounds 5-11) with the cars stated.

Chester Automotive Racing (GBR) enter as the full time privateers. They would like to run two Super 95: 1216cc Coventry Climax FWE straight-four stock cars with numbers #68 and #69. Drivers in this team are David Buxton and Robin Sturgess. The livery colour will be gold with blue stripes.
They could enter rounds 4, 5 and 7.

Hope it's a correct order.

This will take a back seat for some time while I concentrate on AR 3.5. However, it is best advised that you keep posting whatever plans you have in mind for Rouen and/or Brands Hatch, as I'll pick this up immediatedly after AR 3.5 is in good order.

Re: 1962 WSRC - Check your stuff, manufacturers available!

Post by Nuppiz »

So after exactly one year (minus a couple of days) of total inactivity on my part, it's time to resume this series. At this rate we'll all be in a retirement home by the time I get to start the last season... :badoer:

I reuploaded all car previews on the first page (not in-thread because I simply don't have them saved anymore) as well as the race results to Imgur, given that Turdbucket stopped providing 3rd part linking a while back.

So, let's get started... again. A year is a long time in the virtual world so the first thing to do is to confirm which users are still interested in participating in a series which refuses to die despite being comatose every now and then. Some users have reduced their involvement of left the forum completely (at least for now), but at the same time new, active users have joined.

When the series last slipped into coma, the following users were running manufacturer teams:

Biscione: Ferrari, Morgan
CaptainGetz12: British Motor Corporation
Dexter249: Sunbeam
Gonzalez: Porsche
kevinbotz: Jaguar
Miguel98: Chevrolet
Normal32: Maserati, ZiL
pasta_maldonado: Fiat
peteroli34: AC, Ford
pi314159: Shelby
Rated: Citroën
roblomas52: TVR
SeedStriker: Alfa Romeo
Simtek: Aston Martin, Lotus
SuperAguri: Volvo
TheFlyingCaterham: Volkswagen
This Could Be You: Saab
tommykl: BMW
V8fan12: Peugeot
Wizzie: Triumph

Names in green have checked in and run only one manufacturer
Names in blue have checked in and run two manufacturers (one must be dropped in case a new user wants to control a manufacturer and there are no vacancies)
Names in yellow haven't checked in and run two manufacturers
Name without a colour have not checked in and run only one manufacturer

I'd like the users on that list to post whether or not they still have interest in carrying on. Given that roblomas52 and SuperAguri haven't been active on the whole forum in quite some time, I'm immediatedly taking in applications for the management of TVR and Volvo, as well as Alpine as Rated has dropped them. The first priority is getting someone to manage them, so users new to the series are more than welcome to apply as well. Also, some users are currently managing two manufacturers so I'd really like if someone new applied to run one of those as well.

New applicants (primary/secondary preference):
Gertrand Bachot (Volvo/Lotus)
Reject_Dom (Aston Martin/TVR)
Pilot (???)

You don't need to wait since there's a couple of manufacturers without a manager. Also, some people are currently managing two manufacturers so you can apply for one of them as well (just ask which one of the two the user in question would prefer to let go). Check this post for details.

And even when all manufacturers are taken, you can always enter a privateer.

Right, it's been a while since the previous post so I guess we can move on to the next phase.

Gertrand Bachot takes over the management of Volvo. As SuperAguri never actually turned up to make any decisions, you have to build cars and sign drivers before you can enter any races.
Reject_Dom easens Simtek's load by acquiring Aston Martin. One of your cars was wrecked at Monza, so you should replace it (one spare car is available).
Pilot is handed the role of Ken Richardson at TVR. Due to management turmoil following the departure of Trevor Wilkinson, the factory team is currently one driver short as they've failed to secure a replacement to the injured Christabel Carlisle (who will recover in thime for the Brands Hatch round, so you only need a one-off replacement). This should be your first priority.

Please refer to the first post of the thread, which contains rules, entry lists and injury data, as well as the available vehicles post to decide what you might want to build, and finally the inventory post which lists the current status of the possessions of each team.

This doesn't mean entries are closed - they never are. People who used to run teams here can still confirm their participation, and new users can make bids for vacant manufacturers and/or enter privateers as they please.

BMC would like to purchase 2 MGB Rally, with one MGB Rally to replace our MGA for the French round onwards (Since you said that the MGB would be available from May onwards). I will keep the same driver lineup as car #58 (Paddy Hopkirk, John Young will replace Hopkirk at Brands Hatch due to scheduling conflicts)

British Motor Corporation
Class 2.0
Car: MGB Rally
Car #: 58
Drivers: Paddy Hopkirk, John Young (for Brands Hatch)

Please put the other one in storage as car #60 please.

The template list does not have the template for the MGB however. Can you please send me a link to the file so I can make it a livery?

Finally, I will open the MGB for customer drivers. The Base Model is available for all, while the faster Rally is first-come-first served.
