Now that Round 1's done, I have some things for you to do.
1) I suppose it's time to introduce the upgrade system. I'll be updating money shortly, so keep your eyes peeled.
Engines:Each engine follows the upgrade path given above. You may purchase engine upgrades sequentially. Upgrade 1 is unlocked after round 7, and upgrade 2 is unlocked after round 14. Upgrades 3 & 4 will be unlocked at some point next season, and upgrade 5 will be unlocked in 2021.
Upgrades:You can buy upgrades for your mechanics and your marketing team.
- Upgrading your mechanics will improve reliability by 5% of the base value each level. Each level from 1 to 5 will cost $400k, and every level following that will cost a bit extra (Level 6 costs $400k + 20%, etc). You can purchase a maximum of four levels per season.
- Upgrading your marketing team improves your chances in RNG events. Each level from 1 to 5 will cost $200k, (every level following that will cost extra, as detailed in the spreadsheet) and will add an extra 5% to your RNG value in cases where two or more teams bid for the same thing. You can purchase a maximum of four levels per season. For example:
Code: Select all
Penske and Ganassi both bid for A. Stooge. Penske have a Level 3 marketing team and receive a 15% bonus, Ganassi have a Level 1 team and receive a 5% bonus.
1-50: Penske
51-100: Ganassi
101-115: Penske
116-120: Ganassi
2) After the next race at Barber, the circuit will be hosting a young drivers' test. You may select two drivers to test, and must meet the following criteria:
- Must be aged between 18 and 25 years old.
- Must have participated in less than five Indycar, ARWS or F1 races.
- Must currently race in a junior category above F4 level.
I won't be RNGing drivers, so it's first-come-first-served for real life drivers.
3) Indy 500 entries are still open for the time being. You can edit your entries to improve your chances of being selected to appear, and those who haven't submitted an extra entry may do so.
