Baasch Left to Rue Another Brazil Heartbreak

For the second year in a row, Team Falken Tire were left wanting after what they thought would be their best chance to score points during the GT Super Series campaign.

In both races, the Aston Martin operated by German outfit Baasch Auto Sport retired near same time, with different mechanical issues attributing to their non-classified results. What frustrates Baasch Team Principal Florian Baasch the most though, however, is knowing how big the result could have been if they made it to the finish in both races. The team has shown quiet confidence in Falken's wet weather program since they partnered with Sumitoyo Rubber Industries before their full-time debut last year. However, the only time last year that they were able to show that was a fourth place qualifying result at last year's Round of Malaysia where they were the quickest Manufacture's Trophy contender.

"You look at John's (Magnus) performance in the first stint of the race in Brazil, and it doesn't take much to realize that we were gonna get a special result out of it." Team Principal Florian Baasch said in the team's post-Brazil press statement. "After getting run into at the start and dropping to twenty-eighth, Magnus put on a show on track and was knocking on the top ten before he had to retire the car. It was one of the best performances in the wet I had seen in a very long time."

The collision at the start was what eventually caused the suspension failure, after a investigation was completed by the Baasch team post-race. Magnus was forced to stop on track exiting Turn 9, Pinheirinho, with a left-rear toe-link failure. Before that point the American rallied to twelfth overall, and third in class. And according to the team, he and second driver Olivia Geiszler were on pace for the team's best result since last year's Round of Belgium.

"Looking at our data and the live timing with how the race ended up, I truly believe we had a chance to win that race. John was lights out once he got some clean running, and Olivia (Geiszler) was more then capable of backing that up. We have the best wet weather program, working hand in hand with Falken, but it is so frustrating to see nothing come of it again and have it not really be our fault that it ends up this way."

In the 2018 Round of Brazil, Magnus was forced to retire the car with a gearbox failure as a major storm cell moved over the Interlagos Circuit; leaving the team little chance to show what they were made of in the wet. Even then, they still scored points on three occasions last year, all in dry conditions.

"We will bounce back, we have the whole rest of the season ahead of us."

Benetton says GB Racing deal is invalid

Italian company Benetton Group S.r.l. says a sponsorship deal apparently agreed with the GB Racing team was put together by an ex-employee acting without authorization, and that it will not be honoring the partnership.

Benetton has issued a statement arguing that it has no responsibility for the five-year contract, which it says was worth 50 million euros, and that it informed GB in March that the deal was invalid.

Its statement argues that the GT Super Series team - which is preparing for their debut at the RAC Tourist Trophy - should have been more thorough in checking the deal and the Benetton representative it was negotiating with. The case is the subject of a legal dispute.

Format for Baku Grand Prix Launched

The GT Super Series has announced the weekend format it will use for the inaugural Baku Grand Prix that is set to take place in July.

For the first time in the series's history, it will adopt a two-race format for the festivities on Sunday, after previously having a second race just for Pre-Qualifying purposes on the Friday of a race weekend. The Pre-Qualifying race itself will see a return after seeing use for one season in 2017, as the number of cars advancing from the series's traditional Pre-Qualfying session will be slashed in half, leaving the other half to be determined by the Pre-Qualifying Race on Friday.

Series Commissioner Terrance Carter talked to the press after Qualifying at the RAC Tourist Trophy, "We absolutely want to make this moment special for the city of Baku, that's why we're trying to maximize on-track action as much as possible. We want there to be something important happening on each day of the event, and that's what we strive to do with this format."

On Sunday the pair of races will be 120 Kilometers in length, equating to 20 laps around the 6.003 Kilometer, 20 Turn Baku City Circuit, with the track map being shown publicly for the first time on Saturday.

Image

There will not be mandatory pit stops in the races and no driver changes will be permitted. Instead, each race will feature one half of each car's driver pairing, with the starting drivers doing Race 1, and the second drivers doing Race 2. While Race 1's grid will be determined by Saturday's traditional Qualifying session, the grid for Race 2 will be set by each car's fastest lap in Race 1 with cars not being classified at the end of the first race not being permitted to partake in Race 2.

Points for the four championships within the GT Super Series will be rewarded at the end of the weekend based on each car's combined results within the two races on Sunday; with the GTSS's traditional points structure for the Driver's and Independent's Championships being used to score the cars after each race. As a result, finishing the first race will be paramount for those in the championship hunt.

"As soon as the Super GP concluded in 2017, we immediately started to evaluate potential options for a new race, a special event or otherwise, on the GT Super Series schedule," Carter said during the press launch, "when the city of Baku and the Azerbaijani government came forward to discuss a potential event we knew we potentially had something special. I just returned from a trip to Baku to see the progress on the track construction, and believe me, it's gonna be a great weekend in July."

.

Full Weekend Format

Friday:

20 Minute Pre-Qualifying (Top 8 Advance to the rest of the weekend)
30 Minute Sprint Race (Grid set by Pre-Q times, Top 8 Advance to rest of weekend)
Practice Session 1

Saturday:
Practice Session 2
Qualifying

Sunday:
Race 1 (Starting Drivers, 20 Laps, Grid set by Qualifying)
Race 2 (Second Drivers 20 Laps, Grid set by Fastest Laps from Race 1)

If peeps want to enter one-off entries for Baku, if able to within the confines of the rules, you are more than welcome to do so until we have a total of 30 Independent cars for Pre-Qualifying.

Silverstone Victory Hard to Believe for Baasch

After the early retirement in Brazil, it would have appeared that Team Falken Tire's best chance to score a good result in their 2019 GT Super Series campaign had vanished, and the season was only one race old.

And then race day came for the RAC Tourist Trophy. And once the dust settled on the two-hour affair at a bone-dry Silverstone Circuit, the Aston Martin driven by John Magnus and Olivia Geiszler won in the Independent's Class, helping give Aston a double-victory at their home race.

"We're a couple weeks removed from Silverstone, and I can still hardly believe we got the victory and by eight seconds to boot." Said Baasch Auto Sport team principal Florian Baasch in a interview after Pre-Qualifying for the Round of France at Paul Ricard, "Everything fell into place for us, and for that to happen in a dry race with our underdeveloped Dry compound Falken rubber is something I'd never expect to see so soon into the program."

After the Tom Douglas Racing Saleen driven by Antonio and Vidal Reyna-Sanchez retired with Gearbox troubles, the Team Falken Tire car found itself with a very real chance at class honors, facing off against the debuting part-time entry from Czechmate Motorsports. In order to capitalize on that chance, Olivia Gieszler would have to overcome a eight second deficit after a issue in their second pit stop.

"The air jacks lost pressure after the compressor unexpectedly turned off, luckily it was before our crew guys took off the first pair of tires, otherwise our shot at the victory would have been out of the question."

However, working in Team Falken Tire's favor was the decision by the Czechmate team to leave their second driver, Natalia Pavlovskaya, to do her mandatory stint in the final run to the finish. The team had lead driver Phil McCracken do the heavy lifting for the first two-thirds of the race to put them in a potential class winning position.

"Natalia (Pavlovskaya) is a bit of a rookie in these cars, and it showed when she took the wheel to end the race. Olivia (Gieszler) put in a great opening to her second stint in the car and caught and passed her in what felt like no time at all. From there on it was just hoping that she'd come home in one piece, which she did."

Magnus and Gieszler finished tenth overall, scoring the last World Driver's Championship point, as well as the class honors for the Independent runners; while Pavlovskaya dropped to the final step of the Independent podium after the Melanie Bourne rallied late to take second in class in her Boutsen Ginion Corvette.

"I am incredibly proud of our team at Baasch Auto Sport. To bounce back the way they did after Interlagos is why I love this sport so much, and to be doing it our own way with Falken Tires on board makes it all the sweeter.

McCracken promoted to lead driver by Czechmate

British driver Phil McCracken has only driven in two outings this season. Yet he has impressed his team to such extent he was named the lead driver for the 550 entry for the rest of the season. It is rumoured that current first driver Jiri Komarek will either be demoted to second driver or will be reallocated to the 17 car.

Final Czechmate driver lineup (effective from Race 5):

550: Phil McCracken / Jiri Komarek (5-6, 8-10, 13) & Wulfric Wombesi (7, 11-12)
17: Wulfric Wombesi (6, 9) & James Wilmington (8) / Natalia Pavlovskaya

New Zonda Coming for 2020

Horacio Pagani revealed that a new Pagani Zonda race car will be making it's debut in the 2020 GT Super Series season alongside the launch of the revised Zonda road car during the Round of Italy weekend.

The car, to be based on the Zonda F that was revealed at the Geneva Motor Show in March, will be replacing the troubled Zonda GR that has been run in the series since the championship's formation in 2016. Initially the cars were operated by Rosenforth Engineering, with the cars designed and built by Dallara with the full support of Pagani, before switching their focus to a short-lived AutoReject World Series program in 2018. Pagani would take over control of the program and run it in-house and have been doing so ever since.

Both they, and Rosenforth, have struggled with running the Zonda GR in the three and a half seasons the car has seen competition thus far, dealing with the highest amount of mechanical issues out of any car to race in the series. Even with setting a series record five pole positions in their 2017 campaign with the Zonda, Frank Zimmer and Mike Stern only were able to score points on four occasions, their best result all year was a fifth at the season opener in Argentina, after scoring what has been the car's only podium result at the Super GP the season before. While reliability has improved somewhat under Horacio's watch, it is clear it's something they continued to struggle with.

"We have been constantly chasing issues since we brought the program back in house," Horacio said when discussing the announcement, "one weekend it's the engine internals, then it's the valvetrain, once we figure those out it then the gearbox can't take the added stress and then we start snapping half-shafts."

"We think a lot of this comes from a lack of care and attention when the cars were initially contracted to be built and initially raced. The team's dedicated engineers, when we first got the cars, were left shaking their heads when they reported back to me after the initial teardown and rebuild of the cars during the winter before last year's season got under way."

The new race cars will be designed and built in-house in parallel to the new Zonda F road cars, but is presently only a after hours project with the Pagani staff currently busy working production and development of the test car as well as tooling changes required for the updated Zonda. Many of those tooling changes being directly contributed from Pagani's time running the Zonda GR race cars.

"We've learned a lot about what subtle changes to the carbon materials can do to the weight and structural strength of the car through the program, and a lot of them will see the light of day in the F road car. It is something we are going to learn and experiment with in the new race cars once they hit the track next year."

Successful Shakedown for new Boutsen Corvette

The Boutsen Ginion team enjoyed a successful shakedown of their new Corvette C6.R race car, which will replace the C5-R which Eliana Diaz and Ito Shidehara have used up to this point in the GT Super Series season.

The team completed 200 KMs of trouble-free running with Diaz and Shidehara both driving the car at the Waterford Hills Road Racing circuit outside of Detroit, Michigan. The reason for the shakedown being located there is due to it being relatively close to Pratt & Miller's headquarters, the company which produces and helps to operate the C6.R Corvettes with factory team Carson Speedworks.

Also present for the shakedown were a pair of drivers from Carson Speedworks, with Joey Alliot and Oliver Jones assisting Diaz and Shidehara with getting accustomed to the new Corvette they will be racing come the Round of the United States.

"I couldn't have asked for a better start-up for the new car," said Team Principal Olivier Lainé, "while we already have run one of the next generation Corvettes for half the season already with Melanie (Bourne) and Marie (Alberta Luisa), having Joey (Alliot) and Oliver (Jones) around for the shakedown taught the team some new things which will help in our Independent's Trophy bid for Melanie and Marie."

Melanie Bourne and Marie Alberta Luisa currently sit fifth in the Independent's Trophy points table after tiebreakers are taken into account as there are an additional three driver pairings sitting on twenty-three points. They all sit one point behind Phil McCracken in the Independent's Trophy standings, and twelve points being the pairing of Peter Oliver and David Simmons who lead the way in their Oliver Motorsport Lamborghini.

The new Boutsen Ginion Corvette will be transported directly to Indianapolis Motor Speedway from Michigan for the GT Super Series Round of The United States that is set to take place on the sixteenth of June.

Lucchini Livid with Ford's "Gamesmanship"

BMS Scuderia Italia's Team Principal Giuseppe Lucchini has called into question CWG Team MacMillan's tactics after their lead driver Rhys Davies scored the pole position for tomorrow's GTSS Round of The United States.

The lead CWG Team MacMillan Ford GT, driven by Davies and Tomo Kazama, topped all of the sessions they've taken part in this weekend at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway after they, and teammates Darren Older Jr. and Markus Jacobson, have routinely struggled to be near the top of the pecking order on outright pace thus far in the car's first year in GT Super Series competition. However that lack of pace was brought into question as soon as the Pre-Season test at the start of the year when Giuseppe Lucchini accused the team of sandbagging. A question that has been brought up again with the car's recent performance at the hands of the former Formula 1 and AutoReject World Series champion.

"What are they (Ford) playing at with this stunt?" asserted Lucchini in a post-qualifying interview, "we are all here racing flat out all the time and they think they don't have to play by those rules? It is insanity."

Ravenwest Motorsport owner and driver Nathan McKane also talked about performance of the Fords after qualifying,

"...a lot of the team is made up of employees that worked on the Caterham F1 program that I raced against a lot previously. That team had a lot of professionalism in how they acted on-track and off. And after seeing what MacMillan have done throughout this year, it's safe to say I expected a whole lot better outta them than what we're getting."

Lucchini also confirmed that BMS Scuderia Italia will be launching a formal inquiry into the legality of the Ford GT GTM through GT Super Series officials, questioning the means that CWG Team MacMillan has gained additional performance in such a short time frame between the Round of Italy and this weekend.

Sportscar365 wrote:Davies: Sandbagging allegations "rubbish"

Ford-CWG driver Rhys Davies has derided suggestions voiced from Giuseppe Lucchini that his team have been deliberately concealing the true competitiveness of the Ford GT GTM throughout the season, for tactical purposes. The 2003 Formula One champion scored his first pole position of the season at Indianapolis, following a difficult opening half of the season for the new manufacturer outfit, and subsequently caused an uproar throughout the paddock.

"It's all a load of rubbish," Davies scoffed. "It's no secret that this is a new car, new project; everything's going to take time to gel, people are getting settled in. And for all the hubbub and ballyhoo from people who really should know better, Fergie [Fergus Macmillan] already mentioned at Monza that there was a pretty major upgrade coming in. They've taken 'upgrade', and 'performance boost', and somehow ended up with 'sandbagging'. They can't put two and two together, and still somehow ended up with five."

"I drove for Ferrari in F1, so I know how they operate, from top to bottom. Impressive outfit, and I enjoyed my time there on the whole, but they've a certain bent for politics. That's what's happening here. Giuseppe's [Lucchini] been around these parts for quite a while, and he's certainly no fool; there's no possible way he'd seriously think that we're sandbagging in a series without BoP. Honestly, the thing that really pisses me off is that these accusations just completely discredit the efforts of the incredibly dedicated people working 'round-the-clock at Ford, CWG, and Macmillan."

"It's all about deflecting pressure onto the other guy, creating stories that aren't really stories. I don't particularly appreciate it, and I'm sure the rest of the team certainly don't appreciate it, but that's just how things are. I've the utmost confidence that we'll get there pretty soon and knock them off their perch - and then they'll actually have something to cry about - but, for now, I'm just going to enjoy this result with the rest of the team, keep our heads down, and keep working on this platform to ensure that we can deliver the results that the potential of the car warrants."

Paul Ricard To Not Feature on 2020 Calendar

It has been revealed that the Round of France won't be returning to the GT Super Series calendar for the foreseeable future.

Originally set to take place at the Le Mans Bugatti circuit in the series's first year, the Paul Ricard High Tech Test Track quickly took over the rights to the Round of France after a track inspection revealed the track surface condition of the Bugatti circuit was in no condition to host a major event. Event Promoter, the Fédération Française du Sport Automobile, elected to keep the event at Paul Ricard after a successful first event in 2016 and would continue to hold the event there to uphold the four race contract that was signed prior to the 2016 season.

The contracts between the series and the promoters, revealed by a FFSA representative, all have options for continuous renewal with some of the locations that have been on board with the series since its first year set for renewal at the end of 2019. They are the only one to confirm they will not be taking up the option to continue at this point, citing disagreements in the distribution of revenue between the FFSA and the Paul Ricard circuit the reason for the contract not being renewed

Representatives from Silverstone and Interlagos have already confirmed to have renewed their contract with the GT Super Series, while negotiations between the GT Super Series and the promoter for the Round of Malaysia currently ongoing. There is currently no word if a different event will replace the outgoing Round of France on the 2020 Calendar.

Lister to Wind Down GTSS Involvement

One of the manufactures that has been involved with the GT Super Series since its inception has announced that it will be leaving the series at the end of the 2020 season.

The Lister Motor Company has announced they will be ending manufacture support at the end of the 2019 season for the Gerald Pereria-Pan Asia Alliance, a partnership that has been in place since the series began in 2016. While there will be no Lister team in the Manufacture's Trophy as of next season, the Jaguar-powered Storm GT will still be eligible for Independent's Trophy usage for the 2020 season before the car's homologation is set to expire and not renewed.

"It has been a fantastic journey for everyone involved; to be a part of such an amazing championship since it's inception like the GT Super Series," said Lister owner Andrew Whittaker in the official release, "we have learned a lot through working with Gerald Pereria and his team in terms of improving and developing our engineering and design process, and it has helped improve every new Continuation Lister that exits our factory. But there comes a time when you must move on and challenge yourself in new ways, and right now is the right time for my son Lawrence and I to take on a new challenge."

The partnership between GP Racing and Lister produced seven wins and seven pole positions as of the 2019 Round of The United States, with the highlight being a 1-2-3 result for Lister at the 2017 Round of Malaysia. The race run in torrential conditions saw Shane Sparks and Owen Carvill lead teammates, and eventual World Driver's Championship runner-ups, Fabian Rei and Ryota Wong to the chequered flag in a dominating performance, while being joined by a Independent Lister that was run by Globex Scorpio Racing. The Globex pairing of Nikolas Hirvonen and David Simmons climbed twenty positions in the challenging conditions, with Simmons putting in one of the iconic stints of the 2017 campaign, climbing into the top 5 before making it to third with just minutes remaining.

Gerald Pereria stated Sunday morning before the Molson GT Gatineau that he was aware that this news was coming well in advance of this announcement, and is currently uncertain of his plans for 2020 and beyond.

The full race report and provisional results for the Molson GT Gatineau can be found at RejectSport.

Weather: Light Cloud Cover and Dry

Fastest Lap – Car 63 (Carson Chevrolet – Alliot/Malenfant) – 2:17.962

Infinite Improbability Drive of the Race – The 63 and 41’s pit strategy: The 63 didn’t actually run out of gas coming to the flag, considering Scuderia Italia did the same last year and it failed miserably…pretty impressed they still got second place.

Reject of The Race – Antonio Reyna-Sanchez: Spun three times at the exact same place in his two stints, buried any chance of a good run for his TDR Saleen.

With the inquiry into the legality of the Ford GT GTMs currently ongoing, results for the Molson GT Gatineau and the Round of The United States are currently deemed provisional. As a result, the points tables will not be updated until the investigation and report on the findings have been completed.

AutoFiction wrote:EXCLUSIVE: Fuel to the Fire

Since it's inception, the MacMillan Ford GT program has created much controversy and angst amongst the Rolex GT paddock, most notably with arch-rivals Ferrari. However, just as the program started to build real momentum, the upcoming stewards' investigation threatens to derail all the progress the team has made in such a short period of time.

AutoFiction can exclusively reveal that the team has been cited for two separate breaches of the regulations, after BMS Scuderia Italia made a formal complaint to the stewards after the recent race at Road Gatineau. It has been alleged that the MacMillan team have made changes to the car outside of the permitted homogolation development cycle, as well as exceeding the maximum fuel usage limits for both cars at Indianapolis. Both issues revolve around a brand new B-Spec fuel system that has been installed in the Ford GTs before the American event.

MacMillan will be arguing to the stewards that the changes to the fuel system were done in response to the new-for-2019 fuel monitoring system that Rolex GT organisers have mandated in all cars as part of the new BoP procedures, and that the changes were done purely for compliance purposes and gave no performance advantage. However, one unnamed team manager has claimed the new system could be worth upwards of 30bhp once fully dialed-in. It's believed that the experience from Indianapolis led to further developments in the system, hence why neither MacMillan Ford was pinged for a fuel usage infringement at Road Gatineau.

Regardless, it's hardly expected that this would present an issue for Davies' win at Road Gatineau. The Australian legend produced a timeless display of brutal pace and overtaking masterclass to score an improbable and well-deserved first victory, as there is no precedent in a team being disqualifed for such breaches in the past.

GT Super Series - Baku Grand Prix

From: The Stewards - To: CWG Team MacMillan

Date: 18 July, 2019

Stewards Decision

The stewards received a written request by BMS Scuderia Italia SpA to settle a matter, as they were inquiring into the means in which Ford-CWG Team Macmillan Ltd. had gained performance between the Round of Italy and Round of The United States. The request cites that such an increase in performance implies that a major vehicle upgrade took place, and those upgrades require homologation that would be seen on the series's technical bulletin prior to their first use.

As per the technical regulations, "New components that are for areas of the vehicle classified as major within the Upgrade Article must be declared and documented to the Technical Delegate so that it can be approved for use." The sporting regulations also state, "Vehicles receiving a major upgrade mid-season that surpass the threshold of 150 examples of the road-going variant built per annum must have those upgrades initially installed on new chassis or a previously existing chassis that hasn't seen GT Super Series Competition and hasn't been used in testing in excess of 250 kilometers."

From the Round of Brazil to the Round of Italy it has been documented and recorded in scrutineering that CWG Team MacMillan used Ford GT GTM chassis 002 and 003 for cars 40 and 43 respectively for all rounds up to that point, with all components within the major vehicle upgrade areas matching the car's homologation from the pre-season test in Bahrain following checks at regular intervals during the season.

At the Round of The United States, CWG Team MacMillan used chassis 000 and 001 for the first time and there was no declaration about new parts in the major upgrade areas of the car. Those chassis were also used at the Molson GT Gatineau, where a regular check of the documentation of the parts documented as major within with the Upgrade Article was to take place even with the inquiry by BMS Scuderia Italia. Both chassis were used prior to first seeing competition at a Michelin tire test at Sebring International Raceway where both cars surpassed 250 kilometers in mileage during the test.

What was discovered during scrutineering in Gatineu, Quebec was discrepancies in the design of several parts that are classified as major upgrade areas of the car compared to the homologation of those same parts. The fuel tank, fuel injectors, cylinder heads, mounting brackets for the engine and rear undertray were all indicated as different parts than what was homologated at the start of the year when investigated by the Technical Delegate, while still sharing the same identification and labels as the original parts. The only part not deemed a major upgrade within the regulations was the mounting brackets for the engine.

The Stewards find that:

1.The regulations that stipulate that new chassis be put in use for major upgrades when the road going variant passes the threshold of 150 examples of the road-going variant built per annum was put in place to promote constructors building additional examples of the race car for Independent teams to run in the series, ensuring a constant flow of new vehicles entering the series.

2.The actions taken by CWG Team MacMillan and Ford directly contravened the intention laid down by those regulations once if had been discovered the discrepancy in the parts during scrutineering by the Technical Delegate.

3.The parts that have been changed would necessitate a major upgrade which would require re-homologation and certification before their first use which was not completed by CWG Team MacMillan before their first use at the Round of The United States and was not completed for the Molson GT Gatineau either.

4.With the team not going through the proper avenues for what has been deemed a major upgrade, the Ford GT GTMs that were used in Indianapolis and Road Gatineau were not of a legal specification for GT Super Series competition.

Therefore, the stewards have decided to exclude CWG Team MacMillan from the Round of The United States and Molson GT Gatineau race results due to cars not complying with the specification that has been put in place for the Ford GT GTM. As a part of being excluded from those two race results, CWG Team MacMillan are also required to pay back their winnings to the GT Super Series from those two rounds.

The stewards also note that on the Technical Bulletin for the Baku Grand Prix that CWG Team MacMillan has a major upgrade that has been homologated for the Ford GT GTM.

MacMillan Lodges Appeal after Indianapolis and Gatineau Exclusions

CWG Team MacMillan has lodged its formal appeal with the GT Super Series over the exclusion of both of their entries from the Round of The United States and the Molson GT Gatineau.

The duo of Rhys Davies and Tomo Kazama was stripped of their overall victory at the Molson GT Gatineau, as well as a second place at the Round of The United states, with their teammates Darren Older Jr. and Markus Jacobson losing their ninth and sixth place finishes respectively at those events after it was discovered parts on their Ford GT GTMs did not comply with their homologated specification after a protest by BMS Scuderia Italia.

An investigation by the stewards discovered that their cars were running upgraded parts but without proper homologation and certification by the series's technical delegate, while still running the same part numbers as the approved parts.

The protest was lodged by Scuderia Italia after eyebrows were raised at the increase in performance from the MacMillan-Fords without a major upgrade being confirmed in the series technical bulletin prior to the Round of The United States.

Team MacMillan has until Monday evening to lodge its paperwork with the GT Super Series, having made a notification of its intent to appeal on Thursday evening after the report was released, and it has now confirmed its appeal with the series.

It is expected that confirmation of the appeal process, and the timing of any court hearing in London, will come next week.
