Car Allotment Stage 4

Post by RealRacingRoots »

Link to the Car Allotment Data can be found here when you click on the 2019 season tab, the link also includes how many for each individual car is available.

Now that Stage 3, and by extension Stage 2, is done if you did not enter during those stages you will now have to wait until Stage 6 to re-enter with that team unless you have other avenues open. Currently the full-time entry list is at 32, with the cap still being set at 36. As soon as capacity is reached and a stage ends, the Car Allotment System for full-timers will conclude.

One more driver is still needed to fill in at BMS Scuderia Italia when Davies, Restov and van Walwijk are busy elsewheres.

This is Stage 4 of the Car Allotment System, which is about teams that are making the jump from part-time competition to full-time. They can either enter the car they ran the previous year, or move to a different car entirely alongside moving to a two-car operation. The main caveats of this are if the car they ran in 2018 is still available, in which they will be entitled to use it again as long as there are still examples in circulation, and if they have already entered cars full time for 2019. If they've already entered two cars full time in 2019, they will not be able to move the part time team to full time participation. Here are the list of teams that can enter via Stage 4:

(In order of Car Number from 2018)

Aoi Formula Group - Normal32 - Lamborghini Murciealago R-GT
Westside Racing - Pinkd56 - Lamborghini Murciealago R-GT Unavailable for Full-Time Use.
Tsuchigami no Kyojin - RacingHeart - Saleen S7-R
Jameson Brothers Racing - Autonomous - Saleen S7-R
Kiwi Racing - Autonomous - Lamborghini Murciealago R-GT Unavailable for Full-Time Use.
Antegra Ayari Autosport - Autonomous - Saleen S7-R
Toshio Race Team - Autonomous - Ferrari 575 GTC
Clockwork Racing - Cynon - Saleen S7-R
Team Astana Motors - Autonomous - Ferrari 575 GTC
Lynxe Development International - Autonomous - Chevrolet Corvette C5-R

Everyone listed above has until December 6th, 2017 at 1000 hours pst to post their plans if they are to enter full-time via this portion of the entry process.

Alternatively, if they are continuing with the part-time program they can be announced now. They are allowed to enter four events over two continents, as well as the Baku Grand Prix if they choose. When the full-time Car Allotment Process is completed, everyone else can enter part-time entries.

Lynxe Launch Into 2019

High-profile fashion line Lynxe announced their 2019 Rolex GT Super Series program at their design studio in Paris.

Lynxe Development International, their in-house team, will continue their Part-Time involvement in the series using their Chevrolet Corvette C5-R running at the same races they did last year: being the races at Paul Ricard, Monza, Indianapolis and Gatineau, Quebec. They will also be going to the Baku Grand Prix as a part of the series's initiative to have as many part-time entries be a part of the festivities. Driving the Corvette will be the returning Maria Rodriguez and new recruit to the program Weiss von Koenig. Weiss was spotted racing against Lynxe driver Olivia Geiszler in Carrera Cup Germany competition by Lynxe CEO Juliette Lauvais.

Weiss, from Heidelberg, Germany, is succeeding Emma Pescatore who will be joning series champions Racing Team Solvalou for the 2019 season in their number 03 Lamborghini Murciealago R-GT. She was present at the press conference donning the Silver and Black driver's suit of the Italian team; with her to announce the signing was RTS Team Principal Marco Gilbert.

"She is very special..." Marco said in a statement at the event, "but she has big shoes to fill with Einar (Armannsson) returning to F1, I feel like she has more than enough talent and ability to do so. It has been a pleasure working with Mrs. Lauvais to make this deal possible."

Emma Pescatore was the next to speach and echoed Marco Gilbert's sentiment, "I am honored to be a part of Racing Team Solvalou. With the help of the Lynxe crew last year, I feel my place in GT Super Series has been validated and I look to carry that momentum with RTS this upcoming season."

Also present at the launch was Auto Reject World Series superstar Tomo Kazama donning a Lynxe polo shirt, but it isn't presently known her involvement with the young-driver program.

Team Name (Nationality): Lynxe Development International (French)
Car: Chevrolet Corvette C5-R
Tires: Michelin
Car #78 Drivers: Maria Rodriguez (Spanish) - Weiss von Koenig (German)
Participating Rounds: France, Italy, America, Canada
Baku Entry Y/N: Yes

Car Allotment Stage 5

Link to the Car Allotment Data can be found here when you click on the 2019 season tab, the link also includes how many for each individual car is available.

One more driver is still needed to fill in at BMS Scuderia Italia when Davies, Restov and van Walwijk are busy elsewheres.

We are at 33 of a maximum 36 Full-Time Entrants.

This is Stage 5 of the Car Allotment System, which is about users on the Reserve List getting their chance to enter full-time, assuming they haven't done so in the previous stages. They can enter whatever team they choose from their portfolio, be it a brand new IP or otherwise. They can be a two car operation as well if you do so choose. People who are higher up on the list will receive priority on their entry, so if we hit the Full-Time Entry List Cap in this step, only the highest however many users will enter, but if we don't hit the cap and only a few people enter come the deadline they all will get to race. Here is the reserve list and when they joined it:

CaptainGetz12 - Entry was declined at the start of 2016, was put at the top of the Reserve List as a result.

TomDilain - 20 Nov 2017, 06:49

Everyone listed above has until December 18th, 2017 at 1000 hours pst to post their plans if they are to enter via this portion of the entry process. There are a few people on the list who haven't been around for a whiles, so do keep that in in mind when you enter.

Tsuchigami continues part-time in 2019

After a rather surprising race win in the 2018 GT Super Series season held at Sepang, a formerly uncertain Japanese tuning house is now making a very serious consideration for a full-time entry in future seasons.

“We had full confidence in (Ai) Tsukimura and Sakai’s abilities, of course. But when our crew took the win at Sepang against some of the greatest teams in GT racing, even I was surprised at the potential we had despite our status as a part-time entry,” says team principal Haruna Tsukimura. This result in the GT Super Series came at a critical time for Garage House Tsuchigami, as the company had established its first overseas shop not too far away from the Malaysian circuit only a few months prior.

When asked by fans about retaining the Saleen S7-R fielded by the team last season, Tsukimura stated, “We have been in talks with Honda with regards to a works entry [in GTSS] in the future, but their priorities are focused entirely on Pacific Endurance Series. For now, our Saleen will help our team bridge the gap between the present and the hopefully-not-too-far future.”

After Haruna answered, another fan inquired into Ai Tsukimura’s thoughts on competing full-time in GTSS. “To finally compete on the world stage of GT racing full-time would be a dream of mine made reality,” Ai stated. “As an Independent team, I have not a single doubt about our strength… but our objective is to be in the spotlight first and foremost. For me return to the series, the conditions would have to be perfect.” This comment comes off of her and Shouta’s impressive performances which resulted in the WMS Group promoting both drivers up to Platinum and Gold rankings respectively for this year.

To end the team statement, series and team newcomer Meiling Huang would be officially introduced to her new crew for GTSS. Coming off of a strong win in the 2018 Macau Cup, her disciplined racing style caught the eye of Tsuchigami’s team principal. “I’m just glad to have been given a real chance,” says Huang. “I want to put full trust in the Tsuchigami team and continue moving forwards; this opportunity to prove myself in GT Super Series is exactly what I need.”

Team Name (Nationality): Tsuchigami no Kyojin (Japanese)
Car: Saleen S7-R
Tires: Michelin
Car #18 Drivers: Meiling Huang (Chinese) - Shouta Sakai (Japanese)

Autosport Japan wrote:Aoi continues GTSS operations; press release with team principal

After a rather decent part-time affair in 2018, the Aoi Formula Group has announced their entry into the GT Super Series for at least one more year, amidst rumours of closure due to their heavy focus on their EC project.

Kyoko Aoi held a press release yesterday, where she had the following to say;

"We are most pleased at continuing in this series for 2019." she said to the press in a euphoric tone.

The question of the car was quickly put down by her following statement, "I would like to adress that the Aoi Group is satisfied to rely that they will be continuing their use of Lamborghinis for the Super Series in 2019. Our data that we have gathered in 2018 has been incredibly useful for not only the 2019 assault, but also to the staff at Aoi and the EC project. We did have talks about modifying the car, but that fell flat on the face."

The team's next question was about it's line-up. During the off-season, Aoi had managed to make a move to get Luisa at Boutsen Ginion, and Kremnicky moved on the establishment Ravenwest Motorsports.

She responded with the following: "Of course, we are incredibly happy with what we have done with Luisa. We are also happy to see Kremnicky at Ravenwest, as he deserves that spot, and he has helped us a lot here."

"However, I do think this new line-up will be just as capable."

Then, covered in flash, came the first driver of the newly-faced team, Nathan Scott. a British driver, who had been Minarae's driver from 2017-18, winning several races.

"We are most pleased to have Scott at the helm of the staff. His experience will be reassuring and his talent speaks for itself."

And then, came the second. This was when Japanese driver Mai Tokugawa was introduced.

"Tokugawa's been an interesting fish. She has been around Japanese motorsport for a bit, but her splash's been loud, even if small." said Kyoko. "Her results in JAF Formula 4 and AJF3 have been very impressive, and certainly put her at a very respectable level." Continuing, "She has even done a few one-offs at Super Taikyu, where she has been rather impressive to all of us."

"The meat of this is however, our team." she railroaded the conversation. "The rounds that the team will be different. We will change Malaysia with China. We thought that it would be the best for us. We will also be attending the Baku Grand Prix." She concluded.

No takers from the reserve list huh? Ah oh well. This is Stage 6, and the final stage of the Car Allotment System. This is the last call for full-time entries for this season of GT Super Series competition. If you don't already have two full time cars in the series, no matter who you are you can enter whatever team you choose from within your portfolio or create a new one, within reason. This is completely first come, first served. First three entries I got, implying there isn't some major flaw in them, will be the last three players in the 2019 GT Super Series.

If you want in, you got until December 25th, at 1000 hours pst to make it happen. Have at it hoss!

With Full-Time Entries being completed, everyone else that wants to enter part-time, given they haven't already reached their entry limit of three cars total, can now do so. They are to be one car entries, using whatever examples of cars are still available via the Car Allotment Data. If you already have a two-car team running full-time, it will have to be a different IP running part-time.

The Entry Form is Below. Beyond Baku, Part-Timers can enter up to four races over two continents and cannot have Gold/Gold driver pairings or any Platinum driers at all. A total of 13 part-timers can join the fun at Baku, and a maximum of five part-timers are allotted for every other race weekend.

BMS Scuderia Italia would be interested in Enrico Molinaro's services for the three race weekends Davies, Restov and van Walwijk aren't available.

BMS Scuderia Italia Shuffle Lineup, Declare "All In for Andrea"

BMS Scuderia Italia have announced their driver lineups for the upcoming 2019 Rolex GT Super Series campaign. They will retain the quartet of drivers they had in their first season in the series: being James James Davies, Evgeny Restov, Denis van Walwijk and Andrea Constantini for the duration of the season. The team has also signed on three additional drivers: Alexis Tantovic, Enrico Molinaro and Valeri Kozar, due to commitments Davies, Restov and van Walwijk have in the expanding FIA Endurance Championship. Andrea Constantini is the only one staying with the team for the duration of the season, and as a result, has seen the team's pairings dramatically shift compared to last year to give him a chance at the World Driver's Championship.

"We are here to represent Ferrari in the Manufacture's Championship first, but that should not remove us from contention for the World Driver's Championship," as Scuderia Italia Team Principal Guiseppe Luccini talked to Italian media, "we still have one driver with us the whole time, and we are all in for Andrea (Constantini) and his shot at a championship. He's gonna be with James (James Davies) and Alexis (Tantovich) this year, as much as I wish I didn't have to split up Davies and Geno (Restov)."

Restov's new partner in their Ferrari 550 will be Denis Van Walwijk when they aren't in competing against each other in the FIA Endurance Championship; Enrico Molinaro and 2018 Independent's Champion Valeri Kozar will be taking their place on the three clashing weekends. Kozar and Tantovich have additional rides lined up this year as they will be racing for Winton Racing in the Independant's Trophy for the rest of the season. The races where they, and Enrico Molinaro are with BMS Scuderia Italia are the rounds in Brazil, Yas Marina, and the Baku Grand Prix.

BMS Scuderia Italia Lineups:

Car 27:Evgeny Restov (Russian) - Denis Van Walwijk (South African) for Rounds 3-7, 9-13
Enrico Molinaro (Italian) - Valeri Kozar (Russian) for Rounds 1, 2, 8

Car 28:James James Davies (British) - Andrea Constantini (Italian) for Rounds 3-7, 9-13
Alexis Tantovich (Ukrainian) - Andrea Constantini (Italian) for Rounds 1, 2, 8

.

GP Racing went unopposed in their application to be the factory Dunlop squad, as a result they've been rewarded the right for 2019.

BMS Scuderia Italia and Pagani Automobili S.p.A. once again were the only ones to apply to the be the factory Prielli team The RNG that will be run to determine the result will be similar to last year, with a series of five being run with whichever party getting the majority of their rolls in their favor getting the factory Pirelli status.

Odds:

1-2: BMS Scuderia Italia (due to their greater commitment to the series from a competitive standpoint as was demonstrated last year)
3: Pagani Automobili S.p.A.

Results: 2-2-3-3-2 - Scuderia Italia are the factory Pirelli team.

Next up on the docket will be driver ratings once everything in the carset within GTR2 is ready to go. Those who still want to enter part-time cars can do so at any time.

VA Racing Teenagers Denied Licenses

A pair of drivers that were slated to drive for VA Racing in the Rolex GT Super Series have been denied licenses in the lead up to the Pre-Season Test in Bahrain. South Korean driver Choi Jin-joo and Brit Michael McManus have had their licence applications rejected by GT Super Series management after they failed to receive special dispensation to race below the series's minimum required age of 19. The pair of drivers were expected to pilot VA Racing's part-time Maserati MC12 GTM Evo for the Rounds at Silverstone, Paul Ricard, the Nurburgring, Spa-Francorchaps and the Baku Grand Prix.

An official statement from GTSS Management stated, "We denied the license applications for Jin-joo and Michael McManus after we discovered that they applied with birth years on the application form that did not match what was on the copies of their passports. A copy of their passport information was required as a part of the license application package, as a result we found out they were below the series's minimum age requirement of 19 years of age as of the running of the first round of the current year's championship. The GT Super Series does permit special dispensation for drivers under that age who have proven to series management that they are more than capable to handle cars with this kind of power and downforce like those seen in GTSS competition, but we have seen no positive evidence that either driver is capable of that in what competitions they have been a part of. As a result, on the grounds of the rules of the championship and of safety, their license applications were denied."

Choi Jin-joo and Michael McMauns will both be just fourteen years of age at the time of the first round of the Rolex GT Super Series season, which will take place at Autódromo José Carlos Pace.

..

The GT Super Series is suppose to be a top flight championship, not a daycare. This kind of action will not be tolerated. I do not ask explicitly for drivers ages in this championship but it is expected from all team owners to use some rational sense with their driver decisions.

It is highly advised that you place all of your rookies that are young in a entry-level series where they can develop and grow. The GT Super Series is not the place for that.

VA Racing Announcement

VA Racing has announced that they will drop their part-time car on the next season of GT Super Series as they're having a difficulty in finding the drivers. This will mean that VA Racing will only race with 1 car.

Driver Ratings Info Post

Post by RealRacingRoots »

It's time for you guys to start sending in Driver Ratings!

Please send them my way either via Private Message or by the forum's E-Mail function. You only need to send in the ratings if it's the drivers first time participating in GTSS come the Pre-Season Test at the Sakhir Circuit, or the round before their debut if they are doing a partial schedule or are in a part-time ride. Drivers that have already raced in the series and therefore already have Stats to their name can be found at the Driver Classification Master List at the link below. If your driver raced in the previous seasons and the aren't on the list, I forgot something that transpired in Free Agency, or you wish to make a case for a promotion/demotion of a certain driver's ranking, tell me and whatever issues there might be will be looked into.

Link to Classification Master List (Start of 2019 Tab): https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1A0E8X4SnCAp1foizgXG0gr3u6whJ8ipl9l7UKrVAl7c/edit?usp=sharing

Moving onto the actual ratings part. These are the drivers' stats that they will have throughout their foray in the GT Super Series. These are locked upon being sent and the only values that can change afterwards will be Cornering Add and Mult, with those changing when a driver gets a Classification Promotion or Demotion. Cornering Add/Mult affect the driver's ultimate pace on track, and were formally a part of the ratings process in 2016 before it changed to this system in 2017 to what it currently is. What you do have control over in this process is their general performance in certain conditions, as well as how aggressive they are on track. Here is what you will send in:

Driver Name (Ranking):
Race Ability (Dry): 1-5
Rain Ability: 1-5
Qualifying Ability: 1-5
Average of three stats above: (Has to be higher than 2.125)
Track Aggression: 0.5-1.25

For the first three stats, the lower the value the better they will be; with a higher value in track aggression making them more aggressive. You can go to the thousandths decimal point on the first three values in case you want to specialize a driver's stats to the extreme. The Minimum Requirement for the first three stats is in place so you can show a drivers strengths and weaknesses: Some could be all-rounders, others could be garbage in Qualifying but really good in the race, or for those who are just terrible all-round you can just give them bad stats across the board. It is entirely your call. Major penalties will be handed down if the Average is below 2.125.

Driver Ranking, however, is less in your control. Driver Ranking affect the driver's Cornering Add/Mult stat when they get promoted or demoted. Cornering Add/Mult are RNGd when the driver's ratings are sent in, with potential for the stat to be rolled in ranges that are for the Rankings beside what they are actively ranked as. The ranking system itself is basically the same system that's used by the ACO in real life and here in the various other endurance series. How your driver performs in series and in what series dictates their Classification. There are some changes for GTSS, the main thing being it is much harder to attain the top two rankings. Those have to be earned over multiple seasons of success unless they activated the auto-Gold clause of racing in the AutoReject World Series or Formula 1. Here's the basic rundown.

Bronze: New drivers to the ASMF with little racing experience, inside a ASMF-run series or otherwise. Gentleman drivers who have this be their hobby also fall into this category if they aren't on the pace of some of their compatriots who do this for a living.

Silver: New drivers to the ASMF with a full CV outside of ASMF-run series will show up here. Most drivers who are rising through the ranks or racing at all in the various ladders will show up here, with drivers showing well above average pace being considered for Gold Ranking. Gentleman drivers who are on the pace will be ranked here, as well as older drivers who are in the twilight of their careers. If you don't know what your driver's ranking is, assume they are Silver Ranked unless they're hot stuff and been so for a while.

Gold: Drivers who have proven over the span of multiple seasons to be quick behind the wheel and are racing in middle to top tiered series. Most of the higher ranked drivers racing in the second highest rung of some ladders (AR 3.5, Formula 2, etc) will be classified as Gold. Drivers who have raced in at least one AutoReject World Series or Formula 1 race will be automatically classified as a Gold ranked driver, unless other circumstances say otherwise (age, relative pace, etc). Championship winning drivers who make the jump to GTSS as a part of their progression after winning the championship will be given Gold rank as well. This applies to Formula 3, Formula 5000, among other seies. This has to be earned.

Platinum: Be the best in the world at everything you do. Look for these guys in F1, ARWS, GTSS and in factory Prototypes. Others will be elsewhere, dominating the lower ranked series. Once again, this has to be earned.

If you aren't being honest with your driver's ranking or you just don't know, I will rank them for you. If you want me to do their full stats, let me know with a general guideline of how they do on track.

Everyone running full-time has until February 8th at 1000 PST to finalize their driver pairings and get their ratings in. If you need extra time to get stuff finalized because of users being away or because you are busy yourself, please say so and extensions will be granted depending on the time-frame involved. There is no excuse.

If you are running a driver that you do not own, you must contact them to confirm their driver's ratings. It is ultimately their driver and their call how they perform. If they want to send in their driver's rating by themselves, they can as well. If you put in ratings for a driver you do not own without the blessing of the DEC Owner, consequences will be severe. If you are having issues getting drivers from other users, and you do not want have to make fresh drivers just for GTSS, there are a collection of drivers that ran last year in random part-time entries that were made primarily to help people fill out their lineups. As soon as you hire one up, they are yours to keep; you are their new DEC Owner. They will get a small boost permanently to their Cornering Add/Mult to make them a bit more competitive. Take only as you need.

If you got any questions, don't be afraid to ask, got it? Have at it boys!

Ratings are due tomorrow. Here's what I am missing for the full-time entries:

Winton Racing - Ratings for Pedro Renales

The format of the Test has reduced to only two sessions per day, with one session in Race Trim, and the other in Qualifying Trim. However both sessions were sixty minutes in length. Starting Drivers partake in Day 1, Second Drivers do Day 2.

I did dun goof and had Helena Bertinelli do driving duties for the 45 Euromotor Lister on Day 1 when Feldhoffer is penciled in as the starting driver. Feldhoffer will do Day 2 and then return to his ordained role as Starting Driver for the Round of Brazil.

Jacobson's Second Chance

Twelve Months is a long time in the realm of Auto Racing; the livelihood of anyone involved in the industry can change as fast as a modern race car can change gears. And so we take the spotlight to the last 16 Months in the career of Markus Jacobson. The 20 year old found himself with no where to go after the RT Solvalou development program closed up their Autoreject 3.5 program right as the Helsinki native was set to thrive after his rookie campaign in the series. And after a deal to drive the second Speedworld entry in the 2018 series fell through with the team entering Administration, the Finn was left seemingly at a career crossroads.

"It was umm, not the first time I was put into a situation like this. When I was fourteen, my parents forced me to choose between ice hockey and racing with the financial burden I was putting on them becoming too much by that point, even though the commitments never overlapped in a year." A dual-sport athlete, Jacobson's childhood dream was to play for his favorite hockey club Jokerit, and then he used go-karting and racing during the off season to help stay in game shape, "We decided I should continue racing, there's more potential for work in the industry, there isn't that luxury in hockey."

That decision ultimately led him to being part of Racing Team Solvalou's driver development program in Italy in 2014, racing for them in Formula Renault 2.0 before making the jump to their AutoReject 3.5 seat in 2017. While it was expected that he, and teammate in AR 3.5 Luc Pellerin, were to stay onboard for 2018 the Turin based team unexpectedly closed the program, ultimately to focus on their GT Super Series program, leaving both without seats for the season. Jacobson tried to salvage his open-wheel career with a last second bid to race for Speedworld, but that fell through resulting in the crossroads he found himself in at the start of last year.

"Speedworld closed up, so I ended up following through with what my parents and I talked about before, other jobs in the sport beyond behind the wheel. I had something lined up to become a mechanic in F3, but I got a phone-call in mid-March for a race drive." The call would come from the Commonwealth Group, and their program in the GT Super Series, "they needed a driver on short notice due to someone not being around for the next round, I was lucky enough to be the one that got called." With no expectations, he jumped into the Number 56 Corvette paired with Valeri Kozar and finished fifth in class on debut. This would only be the beginning, as their pairing would go on to win two races outright, catapulting Valeri Kozar to the Independent's Championship crown, and Jacobson to third in his own right on the limited schedule.

"I still can't believe that that was real. Most people don't get a second chance like that, and now look at where I'm at." Jacobson was announced as a part of the quartet to lead Ford's attack on the GT SuperSeries, joining former F1 World Champion Rhys Davies, Tomo Kazama, and the driver he was substituting for in Darren Older Jr, "I'm in the car tomorrow for the test. It's fun knowing I get to do this full-time properly, got a second chance and made the most of it."

2019 GT Super Series - Pre-Season Test Day 2

As is tradition, Day 2 features the second drivers in the cars. Outside of Feldhoffer...

Session 1 - Race Trim 1 Results:

This is the last call for full-time teams if they want to shuffle around their pairings before they get counted towards each individual car's Driver Change limit. It is also the last call for the part-time teams that are already entered if they want to change what races they do, once Pre-Q for Brazil gets underway they are locked in for the year. However new Pre-Q entries are always welcome, assuming they are within the confines of the rules.

Lucchini: Ford a "Wolf In Sheep's Clothing"

BMS Scuderia Italia Team Principal Giuseppe Lucchini has accused the Factory Ford team CWG Team MacMillan of sandbagging during the Pre-Season Test which took place at the Bahrain International Circuit.

In a interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport after the team returned from the test, the 66 year old discussed the team's goals for the year as well as where he thinks they stack up against the rest of the field. BMS Scuderia Italia are now in their second year of running the Factory Ferrari 550 Maranellos in the series, which continues a long standing partnership they have had with the Prancing Horse.

"The 550 is now one of the oldest cars in the field, but we still believe it has plenty of pace with how well developed the car has become since it was first introduced in the series," Lucchini told La Gazzetta in the translated interview, "we have nothing to hide with the car being around for so long." The only driver that is with BMS Scuderia Italia for the entirety of the season, Andrea Constantini, put in the fifth overall quickest time out of everyone from the two day test.

"He (Andrea) is really showing his worth now, with our commitment to his championship bid," Lucchini continued, "but some of our competitors in the series aren't showing us, or anybody else, what they are really worth." These comments arose after one of the new Factory entries for this year, CWG Team MacMillan, showed middling pace during the two-day test; their quickest time was a combined eighteenth quickest overall, set by former Formula 1 World Driver's Champion Rhys Davies.

"We had a bunch of team members go to various parts of the Sakhir Circuit to survey what the competition was doing, and we weren't the only ones doing this." Citing that members from Carson Speedworks and Ravenwest Motorsports were also doing scouting work, "I talked to Henrik (Carson) and Nathan (McKane) in private after the first session on Tuesday (Day 2) and they agreed with me that something does not add up with the Ford GTs." Reports from the tracks had the Fords lifting early before braking zones, and the drivers not attacking the corners compared to their competition.

"They (Ford) are hiding something in plain sight from the rest of us, they are a wolf in sheep's clothing and are waiting to strike."

This is the first time that allegations of sandbagging have been brought up in GT Super Series competition. While the series is run with the interest of the Manufactures at the heart of its Mission Statement, there is no Balance of Performance within the series's sporting or technical regulations compared to the GTE Class within the FIA Endurance Championship.

A representative from either Ford or CWG Team MacMillan declined to comment on the matter.
