Yep, this was what we arranged. I'll go back and get the post where I explained this:

Aislabie wrote:Just confirming that BCMA have sold their three V2 Bentley engines to BRP for £150.

OSCA is building us a fourth identical engine, for a cost of £1,875. More fun to follow on this topic

Aislabie wrote:British Racing Partnership are going to combine the four 0.5L V2 engines we bought the other day to create a new prototype 2.0L X8 engine.

Given that we can't easily turn its name into something silly like "Coswojuddhartlambo" I think we'll actually be sensible about this and dub it the "Bentley-BRP Mk.1 Proto"

Should the concept work (which it probably won't because I expect it to melt Tommy's spreadsheet) we may consider manufacturing similar engines in the future

Here y'are - this is the situation

August 1st 1958, British Grand Prix prequalifying

As Peter Collins begins to pull away in the championships lead, it seems that only the surprising rookie John Surtees can even hold a candle to him. Yet, Collins' third win of the season only came about after the leading B.C.M.A. duo of Brabham and Moss retired. As we pass the halfway mark of the season, it's still possible for either of those two to put together a good streak of results and steal the crown from Ferrari. Time is running out, though, as 49 drivers make their way to the airfield circuit on the border of Northamptonshire and Buckinghamshire.

1. Bruce Kessler (Écurie Guillon Bachot) - Lotus 10 chassis 1, O.S.C.A. 1557 engine 15

50. Just-Émile Vernet (Just-Émile Vernet) - Guidobaldi FG01 chassis 1, Mercedes-Benz UM153 engine 10

-Bruce Kessler continues to represent the fledgling Bachot team, this time joined by Harry Schell in a loaned O.S.C.A.
-Redmond Gallagher is replaced at Scuderia Centro Sud by veteran Consalvo Sanesi after the Irishman's subdued performance in Germany. Gallagher instead replaces Harry Schell at Rob Walker Racing.
-Similarly, the aging Juan Manuel Fangio is benched from the O.S.C.A. squad in favour of Ottorino Volonterio, who hadn't raced since the French Grand Prix.
-Paul Armagnac brings the DB Owners' Club to the other side of the Channel, as does Hezemans with Loonmotor van Holland. I'm sure they're very confident of prequalifying.
-Once again the Daily Express sponsors two entries, one for independent constructor Paul Emery and the other for British Hill Climb Champion Tony Marsh.
-In the absence of a works Maserati entry, Reg Parnell returns to his own team, entering the Cooper-Climax.
-Alfred Owen takes advantage of his team's home race to bring out the third car once more for Maria Teresa de Filippis to drive. With such a small grid, she has her work cut out for her!
-Brian Naylor was offered a bargain to enter his second car for Dan Gurney and duly accepted. Qualifying will be a challenge.
-Facing imminent bankruptcy, Norfolk Engineering have decided to make their last entry in Britain with Bruce Halford.
-Cooper have pulled out all the stops for their home race following Hawthorn's podium in Germany. Joining the Brit and young Bruce McLaren are third driver Cliff Allison and former driving school instructor and successful F2 driver Ian Burgess, driving an older T41.
-The Lotus driver merry-go-round continues for Silverstone, as Graham Hill is joined by Ferrari drivers Phil Hill and Wolfgang von Trips.
-Joining other British teams in entering an extra car for their home race, British Racing Partnership have entered a second O.S.C.A. for Formula 3 ace Tom Bridger. His engine is the talk of the paddock, though, an unsightly amalgam of four old Bentley F3 engines to create a V8. One must hope rumours of its lack of power are greatly exaggerated.
-For the first time, three unrelated drivers with the same surname have been entered as Hampshire's Henry Taylor is joined by Formula 3 drivers Dennis Taylor and Trevor Taylor. Another privateer making his début would have been Australian motorcyclist Keith Campbell, but he was killed in an accident at Cadours in July at the age of 26.
-Taking the small grid into account, Ferrari have gone from five to four cars for the core quartet of Collins, Maglioli, Gregory and Marimón.
-Similarly, refusing to enter a fourth car in a race run by those nasty rosbifs, Voeckler have three cars for Simon, Manzon and Trintignant.
-David Murray's Ecurie Ecosse had entered both Ivor Bueb and Ninian Sanderson. Unfortunately, no car could be found for Sanderson, leaving Bueb as the sole Ecosse driver in Silverstone.

With only 22 spots available on the grid, 27 drivers will have to compete in a prequalifying session:

Bruce Kessler
Stuart Lewis-Evans
André Guelfi
Consalvo Sanesi
Jo Bonnier
Hans Herrmann
Paul Armagnac

26. René Cotton (Guidobaldi-Loonmotor) - 2:06.99
27. Tom Bridger (O.S.C.A.-BRP-Bentley) - No time

No real surprises here, though had Bonnier and Hamilton not had such terrible starts to the season, Stuart Lewis-Evans and Dan Gurney would likely have made the cut. The BRP-Bentley engine didn't have much of a chance to prove itself, as it broke down soon after leaving the pits for the first time.

Peter Collins takes the seventh pole of his career and his third of the season, once again joined on the front row by Moss and Brabham, while his Ferrari teammates take up the following three places. The grid's bottom four of Salvadori, McLaren, Taylor and Guelfi will be thrilled at making the grid, though it comes at the expense of the plucky British Racing Partnership as well as two of the three works Lotus cars. Colin Chapman is very displeased at the team's pace.

August 3rd 1958, British Grand Prix

The B.C.M.A. drivers were instructed to start the race strongly, and Brabham duly led the first lap from Moss, Marimón, Ramos and Surtees while Collins was relegated to eighth place. The first retirement of the race was Umberto Maglioli once his gearbox broke down on the second lap. While Brabham quickly showed he didn't have much pace on the day, he skillfully managed to keep the lead, allowing Ramos to catch Moss and join the battle. Brabham eventually caved on lap 9, though Ramos remained behind the Australian for a couple more laps. On lap 12, Salvadori was the second man to retire when his clutch failed, prolonging a season of hurt for Vanwall. At least for the works team, as the customer car of Henry Taylor was off to a great start. On lap 14, the Hampshire car was up into fifth place!

Brabham's day kept getting worse as Surtees found a way into third place. Further ahead, Ramos continued to show off his impressive pace by passing Stirling Moss for the lead on lap 20. The gap between the two remained close though, and Moss stayed on the Brazilian's tail. As Phil Hill pulled out with an oil leak, and Duncan Hamilton had a spin at Woodcote, B.C.M.A.'s day continued to worsen as Henry Taylor took fourth place from Brabham on the 26th lap. Alan Stacey was the next man to give it a try, just as Moss began making moves on Ramos for the lead on lap 30.

As Stacey made his way into fifth, Bruce McLaren's gearbox failed out of 16th place. The race continued with little change, as Ramos continued to stay ahead of Moss pretty handily. At the halfway point, Guelfi's steering failed out of eighth place, just as the hard-starters were beginning to falter. Henry Taylor didn't survive long enough to lose his terrific star-making fourth place, as his gearbox soon failed. Surtees and Manzon, until then running in solid third and eleventh place respectively, retired with transmission and brake failures. Brabham was thus promoted back to fourth place, but he immediately lost it to Volonterio. The Ferrari trio of Gregory, Marimón and Collins slowly started to reel them in, and they were finally caught on lap 64. Gregory immediately jumped both Brabham and Volonterio, followed by Peter Collins one lap later. Marimón also eventually cleared them, leaving the Ferraris to fight for fourth place.

By lap 70, Moss was getting restless behind the masterful blocking of Hernando da Silva Ramos. Desperately, he launched a dive on the inside of Becketts... only to outbrake himself and slide into the hay bales. Ramos was left in an unassailable lead, rendered all the safer when Alan Stacey's gearbox heart-breakingly failed from second place. Collins, Gregory and Marimón were now competing for second place, joined by the charging Jo Bonnier. All four were still locked in hot pursuit of each other when they unlapped themselves from Ramos as the Brazilian took the chequered flag for the second time of his career. Gregory was in second place at this point and got an extra lap, while Marimón, Collins and Bonnier were left three laps down. André Simon took the final point, as Volonterio and Brabham were relegated to seventh and eighth. Moss and Stacey were both classified, as was Mike Hawthorn, who ran out of fuel with two laps to go.

1. Hernando da Silva Ramos (O.S.C.A.) 2:10:21.84
2. Masten Gregory (Ferrari) +2 laps
3. Onofre Marimón (Ferrari) +3 laps
4. Peter Collins (Ferrari) +3 laps
5. Jo Bonnier (O.S.C.A.) +3 laps
6. André Simon (Gordini) +4 laps
7. Ottorino Volonterio (O.S.C.A.) +4 laps
8. Jack Brabham (B.C.M.A.) +4 laps
9. José Froilán González (Lotus-O.S.C.A.) +5 laps
10. Stirling Moss (B.C.M.A.) +6 laps/Accident
