I would be interested in running a team, however one car would suffice!

Fortec offers him a seat in car #25 (if we're allowed a second car this year).

Yes, this is probably a good time to remind people to seriously think about how many cars they want to run this year (which, knowing everybody here, is about five per team!). I like an empty waiting list by the start of the season.

That said, if every single person on the waiting list comes back in the next week saying they want to run a team, I may end up having to take a leaf from the Italian F4 book...

Fortec is interested in expanding back to being a 2-car team then!

With Frederick West buying Raikkonen-Robertson Racing, it was expected that he would keep the same line-up as he had announced. However, after a few weeks passed, and after issues with Rob Ritchie's funding, his contract was terminated with immediate effect.

A official statement from WRF said: "We are sorry that we had to let Ritchie go, but unfortunately we had no choice."

A replacement is expected to be announced shortly.

Ok, time's up and I have not had any response from Moda, Super or Alg, so Jones, Falik Arrows and Panthera have been dropped from the entry list.

Now, while everybody else is fighting for each other's drivers, I'd like to hear from the folks on the waiting list.

Just like before, you have one week to report back on whether you want to jump in straight away or wait it out until next season (or someone else drops out mid-season). The deadline is February 9th at 12:00 GMT.

ETA.

Team Name: Viva Automobile (GBR)
Driver: TBA (#11)

I'll run one car this season.

Young Cypriot driver Kostas Fokaides (10/02/2003) is looking to graduate to Formula 4 this season, after dominating the Cypriot karting scene. Born in Limassol, Fokaides started karting when he was 10 years old, after attending the 2013 Meditteranean F1RWRS Grand at the nearby Akrotiri Bay International Circuit. When the race became part of the Formula One circus, his dream became to make it to Formula One, and race at his hometown track.

I would also like to enter the series, with one car under the Plus One banner. I'd like to run two cars, but will be happy to have just the one car if the need be.

Team: Plus One Racing Engineering
#12 (if second car) TBA
#13 TBA

HOWEVER, I'd still like to apply to manage a team.

Shortly after the firing of Rob Ritchie, it was announced that Dutch junior Michelle Verweij will take the role at West. Verweij has had a lot of sucess in the Dutch karting scene, and has done some outings in ADAC F4 as well with plenty of sucess.

During a press conference at Glasgow, West had this to say:

"We are more than happy to have Verweij in our team. She has proven herself a capable driver, and we look forward to seeing what she has to offer in F4."

As Falik Arrows have disappeared from the grid, JC Arden will approach Nakaguri Morioka for their first seat.

We will look to sign Laurens van Hoepen for the other seat.

Hmmm, well, we'll see. We're at a stage where I'm probably going to have to ask people to drop a car as it is.

I can assure you, though, that in Samson Enoh you have a potential title favourite on your hands (almost all of the drivers who finished ahead of him in 2019 will have moved on).

I'd also point out that both of the champions in this series so far have come from one-car teams. Quality not quantity, people.

Just going to say now before I forget: All activity relating to this series (and others I'm running) will be put on hold for a few months. The current Friday deadline for people already on the waiting list is still in effect.

You can also sort out amongst yourselves who's going to be running one-car teams, or we can deal with that later, whatever works.

Re: 2020 Anglo-Irish F4: Driver signings

Post by Bobby Doorknobs »

Many of you have taken it upon yourselves to start signing drivers (not that there's anything wrong with that). For those of you who have been keeping your options open, you now have a time limit: It's the 1st of June, so let's get cracking!

Please fill this out for me if you haven't already posted anything resembling a driver bid yet:

Code: Select all

Team:

---- First Driver ----
Candidate:
Date of birth:
Proof of age:
Nationality:
DEC Owner:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
---- Second Driver (optional)----
Candidate:
Date of birth:
Proof of age:
Nationality:
DEC Owner:
Drivers must be at least 15 years of age by the start of the season (4 April 2020). Proof of age can be a wiki page, a link to the canon driver spreadsheet, DriverDB profile, even a vague reference in a news article if you can find nothing better.
Also, looking at the wiki page, we have 28 cars out of a maximum of 26, so I still need two more cars to be dropped.
We have a calendar!
There will only be one mid-season test, right after the British Grand Prix, but a new system will be put in place to allow drivers to improve (or not?) between races, which I will get into after the driver signing phase.
