PSR will scrap the DFY/21 and announce their plans for Rd. 13 in due course.

EDIT: PSR decided that it'll only field the #34 entry for the final round of the season. Paul Warwick will drive the Reynard 90D.
We thank Eddie Irvine for his services and hope to team up with him in the future.

After some discussion on the discord, I've decided to trial a new asset leasing mechanic with the idea of introducing it full-time for 1991

Here's how it will work:
- On an emergency basis, a team can request to lease a used asset from the teams asset spreadsheet
- This asset cannot be a new asset from a manufacturer or one being used by an active team
- The team names the asset they want to lease, the price they want to pay for it, and (for 1991 onwards) how long you want to lease the asset for
- Two RNGs will then be run. One for whether the other party accepts the terms of the lease, and one with a random performance effect that affects the leased asset should the terms be accepted (Afterall, you can't trust national F3K teams to not mess around with their equipment :P )

This will come into effect immediately

Autosport wrote:Rydell to sit-out final race of 1990 F3000 season

Madgwick International have made an announcement that swedish driver Rickard Rydell will sit out of the final round of the 1990 International Formula 3000 Season. The announcement has come following the destruction of the #7 Lola T90/50 at the previous round of the championship, held at the Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours.

"We fully trust in Rickard's ability, but he needs a rest. We talked to him about his focus on driving, and he said that he wasn't 100% confident in his ability right now.", claimed team principal and part-owner, former racing driver Dave Coyne. "He has the speed, he has shown it across the season already. We told him to go back to Sweden and rest, and prepare himself for 1991. He'll come back stronger from this one, and we're very happy to count him back for the next season.", he added. Autosport enquired Rydell's agent about his 1991 commitment, and he confirmed that talks with Magwick were happening, but that nothing was closed yet.

Rumoured to replace the sweden ace for the final round of the season are former Madgwick driver Didier Artzet and Jean-Marc Gounon. Dave Coyne didn't offer any comments regarding the possibility of Artzet returning to the team, but did confirm that Madwick were looking for a local driver.

Across 1990, Rickard Rydell scored 1 single podium finish, a third place at the Silverstone round of the International Formula 3000 season. He is currently 14th in the driver standings, on 5 points, while his team-mate, japanese driver Ukyo Katayama, sits in 4th place on 28 points. Madgwick International are 4th in the teams championship, on 33 points, five behind italian squad Forti Corse.

The championship decider for the 1990 International Formula 3000 season happens next week at Dijon-Prenois, as british driver Damon Hill, son of Graham, goes head to head with Alessandro Zanardi for the championship.

Magdwick International are repairing the #7 Lola T90/50 for the final race. We are replacing Rydell with one of the following options:

Choice #1:
Driver: Didier Artzet
Wage: Pay-driver (brings money for the race)
Contract Length: 1 race

Choice #2:
Driver: Éric Hélary
Wage: Pay-driver (brings money for the race)
Contract Length: 1 race

Choice #3:
Driver: Jean-Marc Gounon
Wage: Pay-driver (brings money for the race)
Contract Length: 1 race

Eddie Irvine Part 1
Eddie Irvine has been offered a one-off drive at FIRST Racing after being benched by Paul Stewart. As he sees FIRST as a much better proposition than PSR, he's eager to get back in the saddle, albeit with a couple conditions

1-30 accepts the drive for free
31-95 accepts the drive provided FIRST match his per-race wage from PSR
96-100 changes his mind and buggers off to do British F3000 for a weekend instead

47 - He'll drive for FIRST, provided the team matches his wage (£7,000 for the weekend) from PSR. FIRST will also be required to refund £5,000 to Masanori Sekiya for the final race for breach of contract

Eddie Irvine Part 2
This complicates issues however, as Mugen-Honda get word of this deal. The discounted engines are condition on FIRST running a Japanese driver all season. However, Irvine ever the businessman even at this early age has a proposition that could work for both teams. Sensing an opportunity at a Japanese meal ticket, he offers himself to Mugen for 1991 and beyond in Japan, so Mugen might let this one slide

1-50 - Accept's Irvine's offer and lets FIRST keep their discount. Irvine will only be available for a part-time 1991 International F3000 campaign
51-100 - Mugen rejects the offer. Irvine is available full-time in 1991, FIRST has to pay Mugen £30,000
19

Didier Artzet
Didier Artzet is fast developing a reputation as an F3000 supersub, and he's been given an offer to go back to where it all began at Madgewick. They've asked him to bring money, but given it's his home race it shouldn't be an issue

1-90 brings his Francs to Madgewick
91-100 can't get a deal done in time
62
7 - He'll bring £5,000 for the drive

Spirit-TOM'S Motorsport
Mugen are already in a pretty foul mood after the FIRST carnival, so when they hear about this, they are apoplectic at TOM'S conduct. As a result, they are threatening to withdraw Suzuki from the team and demand payment equal to the discount provided at the start of the year

1-80 Suzuki leaves, Spirit has to pay the £30,000 to Mugen
81-100 Suzuki stays, Spirit has to pay the £30,000 to Mugen
20 - Suzuki leaves, and Spirit owes Mugen £30,000

As Suzuki is in breach of contract rather than Spirit, they will not have to refund his paydriver money however. Spirit will need to name a replacement for Suzuki for the final race

Forti
Forti has put in a bid for both the Onyx Reynard 90s that have been sitting in a shed since the start of 1990. The Liquidators have been unable to shift them until this point, so they are interested in the offer. However, they are also aware they they could potentially be worth a lot more in an open-style auction

1-30 accepts the Forti bid as is
31-100 puts the cars up for auction with the Forti bid being the reserve
15 - Forti is now in possession of Reynard 90D/9 and Reynard 90D/10

Mika Hakkinen
1990 British F3 champion Mika Hakkinen has been given the chance to drive for Spirit-TOMS for the season finale at Dijon. With nothing else planned until Macau in November and looking to step up to either F3000 or F1 in 1991, Mika feels it's the right time to get some experience in these cars

1-95 accepts
96-100 focuses on Macau prep
90 - Hakkinen will step up to F3000 for the final race

Due to lack of funding and a shift to the team's Formula 1 effort, Eddie Jordan Racing is withdrawing from F3000 immediately. Allan McNish and Andrea Montermini are released from their contracts and all chassis and engine assets will be liquidated, available to any bidders or to be scrapped if no bidders can be found.

EJR agrees to this sale and gives the two chassis to Spirit.

With this money EJR will scrap the DFY/12 and repair the DFY/11.

The DFY/11 is now functioning and for sale.

CoBRa Motorsports

CoBRa have shipped DFY/5 off to Italy to get repaired by the world-class Renzo Engineering workshop. A few days later they get a delivery from a Mr Guido. They open the box and get a rather nasty surprise

1-33 - It's found that the crank case is held together with JB Weld. +500 rel for that engine
34-66 - After a quick dyno run, it turns out the torque curve is completely off for whatever reason that you'd rather not know about. +300 rgr for that engine
67-99 - Engine somehow weights 15kg heavier than what it did before. You suspect that the cases have been swapped out for heavier, inferior ones but you know better than to question it. -150 grip for that engine
100 - Combination of all three

60 - +300 RGR for the lifetime of that engine

Considering the fact that PSR is only in possession of a single chassis (the Reynard 90D), the team will make its final decision regarding the matter during the 1991 pre-season.

Reject of the Race: Buddy Lazier - Caused Hakkinen's enormous accident and was generally a nuisance all race
Drive of the Race: Didier Artzet - Was well on his way to an easy victory before a mechanical failure-induced accident ended his afternoon

Budgets have been updated to post-Dijon in this brand new 1991 spreadsheet (link here). For the sake of my sanity, all sales posts made in April will not be actioned on, and must be redone in the 1991 thread once it is open
