Under certain circumstances, I can allow fictional drivers to drive for free, however there are no DEC paydrivers in F3000, and has been in place since the start. There's plenty of real life paydrivers out there willing to give it a crack though

Marco Apicella

The talented Italian has been on the outer for Formula 3000 in the past couple of years, but has been given a lifeline by FIRST, provided he can get a budget together. Ideally, he'd like to be paid for his services, but at the same time he understands he may not have another opportunity again to make it

1-30: Can't get the budget together for the drive
31-100: Gets enough money for the drive
65 - He find enough money to run for 5 races
54 - Apicella will bring £25,000 for the balance of the season

As part of a trial for 1991, a new feature will be introduced. Teams now have the option to start auctions for any used asset not currently owned by an active International Formula 3000 team. The minimum bids for assets are as follows:

1990-spec: 70% of new value
1989-spec: 60% of new value
1988-spec: 50% of new value
1987-spec: 40% of new value
Engines: 50% of new value

To start an auction, a team owner can announce the asset and starting bid at any time. An auction will end after 72 hours from the time of the first post for a particular asset. Bids must increase by a minimum of £50 from the previous bid

DAMS would like to offer a deal for David Brabham to drive for the remainder of the season at £7.5k per race. Should he accept, he will replace Mohammed Siki in our driving lineup, with Jimbo Davis's scheduled appearance being shifted so that he replaces Jorg Scrattenheim instead.

Additionally, DAMS would like to offer a deal to Damon Hill to run the races he's not contracted to Apomatox (Hockenheim, Birmingham, Le Mans Bugatti, Dijon) in place of Jorg Scrattenheim, at £7.5k per race. Should Hill accept, we will move Jimbo Davis' scheduled apperance to Brands Hatch instead of Birmingham.

David Brabham

Having recently parted ways with the clownshow of a team named after his father, David Brabham has done sporadic World Sportscar duties. However, he's been given a lifeline to potentially make his F1 dreams come true again. A quickly resurging DAMS squad have offered him a paid contract to drive for them for the remainder of the season. He's interested in taking up the offer, but as the saying goes, 'once bitten, twice shy'

1-95: Accepts the offer
96-100: Focuses on World Sportscars instead
86 - He did baulk at it at first, but eventually puts pen to paper

Damon Hill
Nobody has had more of a roller coaster of a season so far than Damon Hill. Originally signed to drive with Onyx before they collapsed, the son of Graham was given a temporary lifeline by Apomatox to be one of a rotating cast in the 2nd car. After two wins super-subbing in the #2 Lola, he's recieved a similar offer from DAMS to fill his campaign. Being only 9 points out of the championship lead and the potential of driving for not one but two strong outfits is a very tempting proposition

1-85: Accepts
86-100: Focuses on Apomatox only
32 - He decides there's no time like the present and signs with DAMS

Jackie Stewart wrote:Well, it was Spirit's choice - the Mugen Hondas are more powerful but also less reliable. On the other hand, the Ford Cosworths are quite reliable but also produce less power so it is more difficult to get decent results.

Look at Paul's team for example: they still haven't scored a single point this season despite having a talented driver in Eddie Irvine, but the car is very reliable.

Meanwhile Spirit - while they will finish mid-table in the championship, it will be at the cost of spending more money on engine repairs.

As discussed on the discord channel, Alt-F3000 is alive and kicking with the final two races for 1990. Existing team owners can confirm whether they want to continue with their existing teams while these two races are run, as I will effectively be care-taking all teams until the end of 1990

The waiting list will in effect be wiped clean in the meantime, so users that want to join will need to restate their interest in the series. The only exception to this will be TCBY, who will automatically be put first on the list should she express interest in joining, as she was in line to take Forti before the forum soiled the bed. This means that Pasta will have first rights to Forti given his return to the forum in the past week

Further details on how 1991 and future seasons will work going forward will be explained in due course

Place me on a reserve list should any teams be left unclaimed by the end of this.
However, would entering for the new season with a brand-new team be permitted or not?
