Due to GP2 constraints, I'll sell both my engines and purchase two new Mugen Honda's.

Autosport wrote:Formula 3000 Calendar expands to 13 races for 1990

The International Formula 3000 Series will expand to a record 13 races for 1990, with the late addition of the 1990 Trofeo Dino Ferrari event at Imola. Having initially been controversially dropped from the final calendar, the event has been reinstated with a new July date for the upcoming season. It's believed that this reversal was at the behest of major sponsor Marlboro, which wanted a third race in Italy for their junior drivers.

The 1990 Trofeo Dino Ferrari will be round six of the championship series, running between the Monza and Pergusa events. The rest of the calendar remains unchanged.

Re: ALT-F3000: TMUSB - Pi3141, RDD Required - Driver Signing

Post by TomWazzleshaw »

Driver signing (May or may not be stolen from 1989)

Requirements:
Drivers must have:
- competed in less than 10 F1 Grands Prix, and have finished no higher than 4th at any point.
- have competed in any official F3000 or F3 championship before.

Signing process:

You may make offers for up to FIVE drivers per seat. There are three types of contract terms you may offer to a driver.

Contract: You may offer a driver a wage to join your team; this must be between £65k-£130k per season (or £5k-£10k per race). You may pay the driver per race, or pay his seasons' fee immediately. If you wish to terminate the agreement with a contracted driver, you must pay the rest of the agreed time off with him. Wages will be counted towards the nearest £500 per race.

For example, Driver A signs with a team for 11 Races at £5k per race. Having been sacked after 6 races, the team must pay off the remaining five. You can offer a driver fewer races per season, but it becomes more difficult to re-sign the driver if you wish for them to complete any more races. If you choose to pay the driver per race, but cannot afford to do so at any point, you must pay double at the next race event. If you still default on payments, the driver may leave the team.

A driver views a contracted drive as first priority.

Pay-driver: You offer the driver a seat, but the driver must bring a budget with them. The less successful a driver in previous formulae, the more likely they are to bring a larger budget with them. The amount of budget a driver brings will be generated through RNG after drivers have been signed by teams. The team can request that the driver pays per race or per season, but if a driver is sacked mid-way through the season then the team must pay back the equivalent sponsorship value per race. Sponsorship RNGs offer values of £65k per season to £325k per season, in £65k increments (the value generated can be divided by 13 for a race-by-race payment value.), with weightings based on driver success.

For example, Driver B signs for a team and pays for the season up-front. Having been sacked after 6 races, the team must pay back the value of (sponsorship value/11)x5.

Due to increased job security, a driver views a pay-driver option as second priority. Drivers will not entertain this option if offered a contracted drive.

Non-contract:A driver may also sign for a team on non-contract terms. You do not have to pay the driver or request that they bring a budget, and you can replace them at any time. However, other teams can make offers to non-contract drivers mid-season should they impress.

Due to low job security, a driver views a non-contract option as a final resort. Drivers will not entertain this option if offered a contracted drive or pay-drive.

Fictional drivers:

Signing a fictional driver helps the canonical storyline but drivers can only join a team on a contracted basis, subject to a fee agreed between team-owner and DEC holder. DEC holders must confirm in-thread that they agree to the terms set out. Contract termination charges still apply.

Please fill out the form below:

Code: Select all

Team:
---First driver---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Option A
Driver Name:
Basis: (contracted, pay-driver or non-contract)
Wage: (if contracted)
Contract length (races):
Payment method: (per race or per season, as discussed with contracted and pay-drivers).

etc.

Final note: you may not be in debt at the end of this signing process. You may change bids, but everything is locked in at 23:59 GMT on Monday, June 11th. Should Pi3141 or RDD not respond with their market and driver plans by this date, they will also lose control of their teams to the next user on the list

Re: ALT-F3000: 1990 Season - Pi, RDD Required - Driver Signi

Post by TomWazzleshaw »

With the first round of signings done, the following seats are still vacant:

- 2nd Apomatox (6 rounds)
- 2nd FIRST (2 rounds)
- 2nd GA Motorsport
- Both RSM Marko
- Both Leyton House

The team owners of the above squads will need to fill these seats accordingly as soon as possible so we can get the season underway. For those with part-time openings, Tom Douglas is interested in running as a super-sub for the rounds with vacant seats

Also, as a result of failing to remaining in the black by the end of driver signings, Onyx Racing has been declared bankrupt. Damon Hill and Heinz-Harald Frentzen have been released from their contracts, and are now free agents. At this stage, no replacement team has been decided on, but a final decision will be made in the next few days

"Funtomette" :vergne:

P.S. As Pasta has pointed out in the chatroom, is JJ Lehto allowed to do the full calendar of *both* F1 and F3000?

To be perfectly honest, I completely missed that

Since he'd be prioritising F1 full-time, he won't be able to compete in F3000. CoBRa will be required to find a new driver for the #6 car

FIRST will ask for the services of Akihiko Nakaya, Keiji Matsumoto and Toshio Suzuki, in that order. Same clauses as before, just changed number of races to 3.

Additionally, as we are now down to 14 teams, Pre-Qualifying will not be necessary for the 1990 season. No replacement teams will be brought up until the conclusion of the season

Paul Stewart Racing would like to sign Didier Artzet to a three-race deal (Pau, Enna Pergusa, Birmingham). He will be given a salary of 5k / race.
Artzet will also be free to be picked up by any other team as long as it's not for the aforementioned races.

Christian Fittipaldi will take part in the remaining ten rounds.
