So uhm, whats the deal with drivers that had previously negotiated wages during the MNW system in prior seasons that still have contracts for 2020?

First things first: as I have been requested to extend the deadline a bit, I hereby request all offers to be ready by June 4, 4:20 a.m. CEST. Should your team have not made offers by that point, I will make offers in your stead.

Secondly, as I failed to explicitly note this not being allowed, wages with six digits are permitted for this season. Offers like €X50,000 will be rounded up, however. Furthermore, any multi-year deal will see the driver's wage bumped to €1,000,000 for the following season.

Please also note that there is no non-negotiable wage. The sum as listed will be the entire wage offered. Furthermore, please consider that competent drivers will be expecting wages like these.

In accordance with rule §5.6.a, I hereby modify the following offers to fictional drivers:
Ferrari's offer to Salvatore Miccoli will have a wage of €2,500,000
Toyota's offer to James James Davies will have a wage of €2,000,000
Theodore's offers to Jordan Davies and Einar Ármannsson will have their clauses replaced with a €5,000,000 bonus should the team finish inside the Top 11 of the WCC in 2020.

Information regarding sponsorship regions: Daniel Melrose has gotten German citizenship due to having in-character spend sufficient time living in Germany. This means that from 2020 onwards, he is a driver satisfying the region Central & Southern Europe and no longer satisfying the region Pacific Ocean.

2020 Shell Australian Grand Prix

For the sake of expedience, I will not post the full RNG results in this thread. Should there be inquiries regarding individual rolls, send me a private message and I will inform you about the results of a roll.

As announced previously, all teams that did not have a driver ready by the end of the selection process had a driver selected for them. These drivers have the following contracts:

Red Bull
Mike Rockenfeller - 23 races, €4,000,000
Daniel Melrose - 17 races, €2,000,000
Harrison Newey - 6 races, €500,000

Theodore
Bradley Dagnall - 23 races, €0, €5,000,000 bonus for top 11 WCC finish, €1,000,000 for beating Einar Ármannsson in the WDC

Those contracts can be terminated by the respective users as they please.

Alternate F1 - Rule Changes

Following modifications to the rules have been undertaken and will become valid from the 2020 Cyprus Grand Prix onwards:

--- §1.3.d ---
Old rule:
3.d) Should the administration need to be replaced as defined in §1,3.c, the administrator of the GP Rejects forums (or any forum considered a successor or an alternative by the previous administration) is entrusted with deciding the new administration.


New rule:

Old rule:
6.b) Any team may, from the 11th race of the season, cancel the remaining upgrades on their upgrade plan at no cost.


New rule:

Following modifications to the rule do not change the meaning of the rule, only clarify its meaning and therefore are valid from this point on.

3.c) Teams are excluded from the series when they are considered bankrupt, i.e. do not have sufficient funding to pay an engine contract worth €30,000,000, the cheapest available chassis options and the wage of two drivers, even when accounting for sponsorship.

Furthermore, the tender states that the manufacturer is expected to provide three different types of dry tyres (with goal to have 0-1 stops each race) and wet tyres (intermediate, rain and monsoon).

The reports state that Rockenfeller is to be fired and replaced by the new driver until Harrison Newey enters the final six races, at which point Newey and Melrose, who will receive a contract extension in this scenario and is linked to some team sponsors, would see out the rest of the 2020 season.

Apparentely, the Red Bull shortlist consists of three names, all of which have been part of the Red Bull driver program in the past: the two preferred options are Carlos Sainz, Jr. and Sébastien Buemi; should neither be available, RBR will look to buy BR Mansell driver coach Mikhail Aleshin out of his contract.

In said lecture, he explained the fact that the differences between the suppliers are hard to notice with a belief that the motors are "virtually single-spec".

According to Costa, as the power units were introduced on horrifically short notice, designers were forced to go with conventional solutions and (poorly) imitate an existing system, Toyota's TFCS/F1. He also expressed his belief that the 2021 models will show more variation, as more data and other options are available and there will be more development time.

Alternate F1 - Rule Changes

Following modifications to the rules have been undertaken and will become valid from the 2020 mid-season test onwards:

--- §1.4 ---
Old rule:
4) The narrative period of Alternate Formula One - Current Era includes all Alternate Formula One history from 1980 onwards. "Retcons" (changes to previously simulated or role-played events) can be undertaken by the administration whenever deemed necessary, though the administration has to inform any involved users/teams of the decision and explain their reasoning unsolicited.


New rule:

4) Excluded users may join the waiting list unless the administration can successfully argue that doing so would be against the best interest of GP Rejects (or any website considered a successor or an alternative by the administration) and its users.


New rule:
4)Excluded users may join the waiting list unless the administration can successfully argue that doing so would be against the best interest of GP Rejects (or any website considered a successor or an alternative by the administration) and its users. Any user that has voluntarily been excluded from the game in accordance with §2.3.e. on three separate occasion is no longer entitled to rejoin the waiting list list unless they receive permission of the Canon Council of the GP Rejects forums (or any forum considered a successor or an alternative by the administration) to do so.


--- §2.3.g ---
New rule:
3.g) Users on the waiting list can be requested to re-affirm their interest in being on the Alternate Formula One - Hydrogen Era waiting list. The administration is entitled to re-order the waiting list in accordance to the order in which the requested re-affirmations are undertaken.


--- §2.4 ---
Old rule:
4.c) A new user entering the game is awarded a new team. Any new team must give the administration a name, a nationality and a backstory to explain its entry into Alternate Formula One.

Should he do so, his team will be, in addition to the budget for new teams, be paid €10,000,000. Furthermore, the team is, with the exception of the prize money, entitled to all bonuses that follow from last year's WCC results of the identity. This rule can be voided by the administration if needed for storyline purposes or at the request of the excluded user if he was excluded in accordance with §2.3.e.

After Daniel Melrose won the German Grand Prix, Red Bull management shifted towards Melrose completing the full season, Melrose will run the rest of the season While Rockenfeller will be out of competition from Round 17 onwards.

2020 Official Mid-Season Test I

May 5-7: the F1 teams will run the first official mid-season test at the Akrotiri Bay International Circuit.

During that test, teams can use track time to work on one of four tasks each day, each session costing €5,000,000 with up to three sessions available:
Short Runs - improves qualifying pace. For every day invested into car development, the maximum qualifying grip of a car will be raised by 0-30 points.
Long Runs - improves race pace. For every day invested into long runs, the maximum race grip of a car will be raised by 0-30 points.
Driver Performance - allows your drivers to improve. For every day invested into driver performance, the driver chosen will improve his performance by a small bit for the rest of the season.
Talent Evaluation - enables your team to assess a driver.

Only with the Talent Evaluation focus can drivers that are currently not under contract be used by your team. No superlicense is required for these drivers. The choice of driver does not influence the outcome of the session.

Raquel Rodriguez (BRA), Reigning F4 South America champion and F3 driver, and Gabriel Hoffmann (LUX), 2019 Anglo-Irish F4 runner-up and F3 driver, are available to any team that wishes to run them in the test.

Frontrunning F3 driver Riley Griffith is also available to test for any team willing to run her, and past F1 "super" sub Jean-Maxime Bachot is also available for hire.

ARWS alum and Indy 500 Participant Nicolas Steele is interested in taking part in the test.

Formula 2 driver Tanner Jason, Formula 2 reserve driver Malik Zidan and Formula 3 Europe driver Massimo Torelli are also interested in taking part.
