Welcome Alex to Scuderia Ferrari! I think this will be a long partnership between the team and the driver and hope that our two drivers will bring Ferrari our first World Championship since 2013.

There is and you are now part of it. :)

As long as you have the money to do so, you can bid for drivers at any slot at any time (obviously you need to sack a driver to hire one for a place in the team already taken). I will look to update the budgets this weekend, but I cannot guarantee anything.

The Bridgestone Corporation has announced its line-up for tyre testing in the 2021 calendar year. The Japanese company, which has earned the tyre tender for Formula One from the next season onwards, has hired an all-star lineup for its testing program which is set to begin soon with first tests at Okayama International Circuit, followed by further testing at the Hungaroring.

Former world champion Lewis Hamilton headlines the five-driver squad also involving Felix Rosenqvist, Takuma Taki, Kevin Magnussen and Renaldo Jiménez. Given as new aerodynamic rules will be introduced next season, the tyre manufacturer will use a development mule of the 2021 regulations designed by Dallara with a Judd CFC motor.

According to rumours in the paddock, the return of BMW may just be the beginning as far as increased manufacturer interest in the sport. The new hydrogen fuel cells have both proven their capacity of providing top-tier motorsport and their ability to replace combustion engines near seamlessly.

One team actively looking for partners is WilliamsF1, who are highly interested in creating a situation similar to Precision and MRT, where they sell a minority stake to a car manufacturer and gather works support. Williams themselves had a similar arrangement with BMW in the early 2000s.

Two companies rumoured to check the feasability of a F1 entry are Hyundai, who competed successfully in F1 in the early 2010s, winning the 2015 driver's championship, and the Volkswagen Group, which has made it its goal to move its entire motorsport division to electric racing as soon as possible.

In a press release, the TRILUX GmbH & Co. KG announced having sold their shares in the Precision Motorsport F1 team. The light fixtures manufacturer had financed, sponsored and founded the team back in 2016. In the press release, the company praised the professionalism of the team and appreciated the marketing value.

According to sources close to the situation, the shares - the equivalent of 20% of ownership of the team - were mostly sold to an as-of-yet unknown entity with 10% of these shares being split amongst minor American investors. Regardless, Precision is expected to announce a new title sponsor before the end of the season.

According to a report by English newspaper The Sun, current BR Mansell driver Sho Tsuboi is in discussion at Caterham. The Japanese youngster who recently scored his first F1 win, has drawn the interest at the team as a potential replacement if Sebastian Vettel retires.

Vettel, who is known to be unhappy with the technological development of the sport, has a contract until the end of the 2022 season, matching Tsuboi's contract. Neither Caterham nor Tsuboi were available for comment, although a source at Toyota said that there was "no way" Tsuboi would leave the brand.

According to our sources, this decision was undertaken to draw on the popularity of Roger Ibe, whose fiery start to his F1 career caused a minor F1 boom in the Philippines. Hotels in the Guangdong province have reported a large amount of bookings by Filipino tourists.

In his first public appearance since resigning as chairman of Formula One Management, Italian businessman Achille Lunardi commented on various topics, such as current F1 drivers, the FIA takeover of commercial F1 operations and relationships between the sport and race track owners.

Talking about the current situation in the sport, Lunardi emphasised that he believes Artem Markelov's hot start to the year will not be sustainable and that Dave Cassidy and the Caterham drivers will pass him in the championship standings "sooner rather than later".

Lundari also spoke about his infamous comment regarding the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza and explained that he "actually spoke for the FIA". According to Lundari, FIA president Alekos Kalogeropoulos is still upset with Monza for breaking their contract wants to "bury" the venue like Hockenheimring back in the early 2010s.

According to a report by The Daily Mail members of the Fernando Alonso Speed Team (FAST) were seen speaking with representatives of Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Toyota at the paddock at the previous 2 Grand Prix. With rumors of new engine suppliers entering the sport and with their team on a hot streak the team appears to be seeking leverage in negotiations, either to extend their partnership with Mercedes or switch to a different powerplant. Such speculation increased over the weekend with FAST staff speaking with Hyundai, Volkswagen, and Honda representatives at the FIA Safety Convention in Madrid.

When asked about a possible switch from Mercedes power after 2021 team owner Fernando Alonso declined to give details in an interview with Autosport. "We will pick whatever engine that will keep us in contention for podiums and keep us competitive in the midfield. Mercedes remains a great company to work with and right now we don't see any reason to switch from their power. We could use a closer partnership with their engine program, but so far they give us quality engines as you can see on the track."

Former Zakspeed and Rial F1 driver Stefan Johansson gave his opinion on the 2021 aero rules in a guest column of an American sports newspaper and the Swedish driver was not kind to the plans of FIA president Alexos Kalogeropoulos.

He called the ruleset "pathetic", pointing out that whilst he dislikes the hydrogen fuel cells because of their "lack of power", he can at least "appreciate the technical effort", whereas the purposefully outdated aero just goes against the "DNA of Formula 1".

According to sources close to the team, a heated discussion between Artem Markelov and a couple of strategists occured after the conclusion of the Hungarian Grand Prix. Markelov lost a sure victory when he ran out of hydrogen on the final lap, allowing Esteban Ocon and Sebastian Vettel to pass him.

Abovementioned source claimed that Markelov vulgarly assaulted his strategists, blaming them for "faulty" calculations that ended his chance at taking a crucial win. Aeroflot BR Mansell Engineering was not available for comment on the matter yet.

German newspapers reported that the Volkswagen Group is looking to purchase British Airways Sauber F1 Team in a 160-million deal. The Swiss team has struggled in recent years because of a lack of budget and brain drain, but still has a championship-winning trackside operation.squad.

According to their sources, the German company loves the current hydrogen motors; feeling that they would fit the desired image for the Audi brand. A Sauber spokeswoman denied the claim, stating that "Sauber is not for sale" and that the Swiss team "values its independence".

Upgrades

Post by Klon »

Alright, gentlemen and ladies, time for upgrades.

To quote from the rules:

6.b) Any team may, during the seventh-to-last Grand Prix weekend of the season, cancel the remaining upgrades on their upgrade plan at no cost, move any outstanding upgrades unless a move would cause a violation of the development period as defined in §4.6 and add upgrades of any type for the fifth-to-last and/or the second-to-last Grand Prix weekend of the season, unless that would cause a violation of the development period as defined in §4.6.

As no team has upgrades to cancel as off now this is now an exercise for adding upgrades if you want them.

The prices for upgrades are on the first page in the spreadsheet. If you wish to add an upgrade, just fill out this formula until March 31, 3:30 p.m. CET.

Team:
Upgrade #1: Beta/Gamma/Delta/Epsilon/Not used
Grand Prix: Belgium/Abu Dhabi
Upgrade #2: Beta/Gamma/Delta/Epsilon/Not used
Grand Prix: Belgium/Abu Dhabi

Motor Development

Post by Klon »

Alright, it is now time to begin work on the hydrogen fuel cell motors for the 2022 season.

For that purpose, you send your testing team out for two testing days and have them work on one of four things: motor power, which is the base BHP output of the motor; qualifying mode, which describes how much quicker your motor can go if fuel consumption is raised to the maximum; car failure probability, which states how likely it is for your motor to blow up or adversely affect other parts of a car and motor mass, which is the weight of your motor and how it negatively affects cornering speed.

To see how that looks in detail, I have provided this handy graphic:
Image

Basically, you can add two "levels" every Grand Prix from now on (except after the season finale, where you will be able to add four levels (we'll get to that after the Chinese Grand Prix)). Each test day costs €1,000,000. Regardless of how many test days you use, you must have at least Lv. 1 for every aspect before the beginning of next season.

User:
Manufacturer:
Test Day #1: Motor Power/Qualifying Mode/Car Failure Probability/Motor Mass Lv. x
Test Day #2: Motor Power/Qualifying Mode/Car Failure Probability/Motor Mass Lv. x

To demonstrate how this work, I will fill my part as the current owner of Precision:

User: Klon
Manufacturer: Mercedes-Benz
Test Day #1: Car Failure Probability Lv. 1
Test Day #2: Qualifying Mode Lv. 1

You are free to write in-character reports on your testing prowess without any limitation except maybe common sense. Those in-character reports will not affect driver ability or RNG odds.
