Engines

Exactly the same as last year, simply peruse the spreadsheet and pick what engine you'd like. Each engine manufacturer has teams they MUST supply, and teams they CAN supply.

Suppliers

Tyres are mandatory, but the other suppliers are optional.. This year there are no free tyres.

Like tyres, you can only have one active supplier, but you may bid for up to 3 suppliers to fill that slot. Suppliers are in three categories - Petroleum, Lubricants, and Parts. You can bid for 3 suppliers. Supplier RNGs will be rated by how similar the supplier’s brand image is to yours.

Supplier choices can be found on the spreadsheet, along with your current generated chassis stats.

Autosprint wrote: Dywa equipment stranded in South Africa, team removed from 1980 F1 entry list
In yet another twist to the shambolic South African Grand Prix of the upstart and ultimately-abortive World Federation of Motorsport, the infamous Dywa team has exited the stage of the F1 paddock for almost certainly the final time. The enigmatic entry was a strange addition to the breakaway grid, as many would have presumed they would be kept away to bolster the credibility of the field as a whole, but nevertheless, they were there. The only turbo team on the grid (something that will surely be a future pub question), they were even cautiously-optimistic of being on the pace, hoping the reduced power loss at the high altitudes of Kyalami by their Renzo turbo compared to the naturally-aspirated DFVs used by everyone else would bring them closer to the grid.
In the end, Renzo Zorzi and Ottavia Cacciatori were still the slowest cars, but not quite as far off the pace as typically-expected of a Dywa. In the race itself, Cacciatori retired early when her engine blew, while Zorzi was still running when the race was red-flagged on lap 64 due to the political protests that had spilt onto the track, albeit he was not classified. And while a Dywa seeing the end of a race might be bizarre on its own, that was only the beginning of the drama, for it turned out that the team did not have the money to bring their equipment back from South Africa, and so it had to be left behind. Both drivers have since departed the team, to little surprise, Additionally, there is no reference to the Dywa team on the new, revised F1 entry list for 1980 in the aftermath of the WFMS' failure, we can safely assume their F1 stint has come to an end.
However, the inability of the team to bring their equipment back raises yet further questions about the future of the infamous Dywa GP series: if Dywa lacks the money to bring a single team's equipment back from South Africa, how can Dywa GP's ambitious worldwide calendar for this year be even remotely close to financially-feasible?

Autosprint, in another article of the same issue wrote:Financial woes for Riviera?
Amidst the turbulence of the abortive breakaway World Federation of Motorsport and the escalation of the FISA-FOCA conflict tearing Formula One apart, the troubles that have befallen one of F1's newest teams have gone unnoticed. The fledgling Riviera outfit, an Italian entry headed up by prospective owner-driver Alberto Colombo, paired up with compatriot Piercarlo Ghinzani, looks to have run into financial issues. Though they have built a car, and released images of it in a photo shoot, the costs have allegedly proven to be greater than they were prepared, and if these allegations are true, the team has also already run into debt. Whether they will be able to procure engines, fuel, or even tyre supplies for the season at all remains to be seen, and with the stipulation that all teams must enter every round of the newly-dubbed Formula One World Championship, the powers that be might not be willing to let them skip races to sort their affairs out, such to see to it that this key principle of the new championship setup is adhered to. Some are speculating ancient, heavily-worn DFVs might be Riviera's only option, while others are instead suggesting that they might run Renzo engines instead, either the naturally-aspirated or turbo option. This speculation assumes the team can even afford those at all, not to mention tyres and fuel, and so it is very possible that Alberto Colombo's dreams of F1 team-ownership could be over before they have even started.

Autosport wrote:F1 unified at last
In an apparent win for FISA President Jean-Marie Balestre, FOCA teams have agreed to enter the Formula One World Championship under rules established by the governing body. Balsetre, who recently decried the breakaway World Federation of Motor Sports' farcical event at Kyalami, has hailed the deal as the "right choice" for Formula One.

However, things may not all be gloomy over in Bernie Ecclestone's camp, as the final agreement has given FOCA the right to select and procure prospective events to the Formula One calendar for an undisclosed sum.

Autosport wrote:Dutch, US GP events cancelled
In the wake of FOCA finally abandoning the still-born WFMS project, this year's Dutch and United States Grands Prix have been cancelled due to inadequate space on the calendar. Official circuit sources declined to comment.

Autosprint wrote:Riviera secures second-hand DFVs
Latest Italian Formula One hopefuls Riviera, led by owner-driver Alberto Colombo, have agreed an eleventh-hour deal with an unnamed source to purchase Ford Cosworth DFV engines. However, sources close to the team have revealed the units to be "ancient history".
