Actually I'd also like to buy a Lola-Zytek combination and I'll throw some random pay driver in it

To confirm Super Nova will bid for
1x Dallara GP2/05
1x Nissan VQ35DE
1x Lola B02/50
1x Zytek-Judd KV

Zele Racing will bid for two Lola B05/52 and two Zytek engines. Our backup option should our bid for the B05s fail will be Lola B02s.

Happily, everyone so far has received the machinery they asked for. I decided not to wait any longer for Dom to post his preferences for iSport. It's not the end of the world really given that there are chassis and engines of all kinds still very much available.

It's now time to nominate your drivers.

There are plenty available, but if you could post at least three choices for each seat then that would make my job much easier when I run the RNG. Certain drivers will have plot points and conditions attached to them which will become clear if and when they get signed to a team. As I'm running the series and know who those drivers are though, I'll try to avoid them for AEZ.

So far, the entries to each class are as follows:

STT1 entries:
  • Image BCN Competicion - 2 cars
  • Image DAMS - 2 cars
  • Image Ma-Con Engineering - 1 car
  • Image Super Nova Racing - 1 car
  • Image Team Astromega - 1 car
  • Image Zele Racing - 2 cars
    Image iSport International (TBC)
STT2 entries:
  • Image AEZ Racing - 2 cars
  • Image Coloni Motorsport - 2 cars
  • Image Durango Corse - 2 cars
  • Image Ma-Con Engineering - 1 car
  • Image Super Nova Racing - 1 car
  • Image Team Astromega - 1 car
    Image iSport International (TBC)

Durango

Joint list for both seats:

Enrico Toccacelo
Fabrizio del Monte
Raffaele Giammaria
Michele Rugolo
Matteo Meneghello
Matteo Grassotto
Marco Bonanomi
Daniel la Rosa

Btw, there are some errors on the driver nationalities on your list. The ones I noticed are Antinucci (USA) and Pastorelli (NED).

Based on my restrictions with my contract with Toyota, there aren't many choices I have for drivers. That being said, here are my driver bids by order of preference:

1. Image Ryan Briscoe
2. Image Ricardo Zonta

DAMS 2nd Driver (STT1; Dallara GP2/05-Nissan VQ35DE)

That's my own fault for manually copying a spreadsheet from another spreadsheet :pantano:

For the record I do know how inefficient that is, but the original spreadsheet had flags for the drivers' nationalities and the new one wasn't having a bar of it

You can nominate one-off drivers before each round. For such entries you can either rent machinery or use cars already in your possession (but it's worth noting that pay drivers won't appreciate being displaced).

I'm okay with a little bit more creativity when it comes to one-off drives as well, in the spirit of fun.

I am still interested in this series still going. If need be, any delinquent owners could perhaps have their driver choices RNGed? Could spice things up :D

(And perhaps you can pick the chassis for ISport International since they haven't posted their chassis and engine choices yet?)

Wonderful. In that case...

Plot Question: Arden's Red Bull partnership
Ahead of the 2005 season, Arden International must decide whether they wish to retain their status as Red Bull Junior Team. The conditions are as follows:

  • Arden International will run at least one STT1 car.
  • All Arden Internationl drivers must be affiliated with Red Bull.
  • Should any Arden International drivers be called into Formula One, Red Bull will provide either a replacement driver, or financial compensation.
  • If Arden choose not to continue their partnership, it will cost 100,000 to break the contract.

Do Arden wish to remain Red Bull's Junior Team or go independent?

= = =

Makes sense. I'll babysit iSport for the time being. Actually, I like this idea more:

I've updated the spreadsheet to let people know which machinery has been sold.

Once you've picked your machinery and nominated some drivers, we're ready to get some RNG going

Super 3000 Pre-Season Driver RNG

Post by Aislabie »

Image Ryan Briscoe
Ryan Briscoe is a Toyota-affiliated driver who spent 2004 as a Toyota test driver. His future is more or less tied to what Toyota wants for him, but he has two options:
1-60 - A Toyota-supported STT1 driver for DAMS.
61-100 - A potentially midfield drive for Chip Ganassi Racing in the Indy Racing League.
34 - Ryan Briscoe will drive for DAMS in 2005.

Image Franck Perera
Franck Perera is a Toyota-affiliated driver who spent 2004 driving for Prema Powerteam in Formula Three. His future is also influenced by what Toyota wants for him.
1-75 - Takes a Toyota-backed STT1 drive for DAMS.
76-100 - Remains in Formula Three to develop further as a driver.
30 - Franck Perera will drive for DAMS in 2005.

Image Alex Yoong
Alex Yoong is a pay driver with some Formula One experience driving for Minardi. He has limited other racing commitments.
1-65 - Takes an STT1 drive for Astromega, and will race the full season.
66-90 - Agrees to split his time between Astromega and Team Malaysa (therefore missing the British 3000)
91-100 - Turns down Astromega entirely to fully commit to Team Malaysia.
68 - Alex Yoong will drive for Astromega, but will be unavailable for the British 3000.

Image Jan Heylen
Jan Heylen is a pay driver who finished in third place in German Formula Three in 2004. His only other offer is an entry level touring car series.
1-90 - Takes an STT2 drive for Astromega.
91-100 - Abandons his open-wheel ambitions and takes a drive in the Mégane Trophy Eurocup.
87 - After much convincing, Heylen has one last crack at open-wheel racing.

Image Robert Kubica
Poland's Robert Kubica finished in seventh place in European Formula Three in 2004. He does, however, have an offer on the table to drive in Formula Renault 3.5.
1-50 - Takes an STT1 drive for BCN Competicion.
51-100 - Takes a title-capable FR3.5 drive for Epsilon Euskadi.
92 - After much consideration, Robert Kubica chooses to drive for Epsilon Euskadi.

Image Simon Pagenaud
France's Simon Pagenaud is considered highly promising after finishing second in the 2004 Formula Renault Eurocup. As a result, he's in some demand.
1-35 - Accepts BCN Competicion's offer of an STT1 drive.
36-70 - Accepts Ma-Con Engineering's offer of an STT1 drive.
71-100 - Instead chooses Formula Renault 3.5 with Saulnier Racing.
17 - Simon Pagenaud is BCN Competicion's first driver.

Image Joao Paulo de Oliveira
After finishing runner-up in the 2004 Japanese Formula Three championship, de Oliveira still only has a couple of offers on the table.
1-70 - Takes up an STT1 drive with Ma-Con Engineering.
71-100 - Remains in Japanese Formula Three to win the championship that eluded him.
35 - Joao Paulo de Oliveira is now Ma-Con's first driver.

Image Chanoch Nissany
The geriatric Israeli is a quite frankly appalling driver, but he brings more money than any other driver in the Super 3000 roster. No wonder Ma-Con wants him.
1-60 - Throws his magic cheque book at Ma-Con.
61-100 - Throws his magic cheque book at the Hungarian E-2000 Championship, a series so bad he might win it.
44 - Well, we all know who's going to finish last in STT2; it'll be Nissany in the Ma-Con.

Image Enrico Toccacelo
As the runner up in International F3000 in 2004, Enrico Toccacelo is in some demand. He is also affiliated to the Minardi Formula One team, which will have some influence on his choice of seat.
1-55 - Accepts a Minardi-backed STT2 drive with Coloni Motorsport.
56-75 - Accepts a non-Minardi STT2 drive with Durango Corse.
76-100 - Instead of Super 3000, Toccacelo turns to Formula Renault 3.5/
33 - Enrico Toccacelo will be Coloni's first driver.

Image Roberto Streit
After a promising campaign in the Formula 3 Euro Series, Roberto Streit has a couple of offers for 2005 even though he doesn't bring any sponsorship.
1-70 - Accepts an STT1 drive with iSport International.
71-100 - Instead switches to Japanese Formula Three to get on the Formula Nippon ladder.
66 - He nearly chose Japan, but Roberto Streit will drive for iSport.

Image Tomas Enge
The Czech driver has considerable experience including Formula One, and finished fourth in International F3000 in 2004. For 2005, he's in high demand.
1-35 - Accepts an STT2 drive for iSport International.
36-100 - Pursues Le Mans Prototype and IndyCar ambitiions instead, as would any sane man.
61 - Tomas Enge is done with junior series.

Image Kohei Hirate
Japan's Kohei Hirate finished second in Formula Renault 2000 Italia in 2004; this got him attention from Toyota F1 team for whom he is a junior driver. However, they couldn't find a seat for him at DAMS.
1-75 - Drives an STT2 car for iSport.
76-100 - Instead progresses his career at a more sedate pace by driving in the Formula Three Euro Series.
52 - Kohei Hirate is iSport's second driver.

Image Patrick Lemarié
Jacques Villeneuve's test driver friend hasn't competed for a year, but he's persuaded Villeneuve to buy him another drive. And it's not like there's anything more on his plate.
1-90 - Takes an STT2 drive for AEZ racing.
91-100 - Continues to do literally nothing.
15 - Lemarié jumps at the drive; AEZ jumps at the Villeneuve money.

Image Michael Devaney
Last year, Michael Devaney finished in fourth place in German Formula Three, and it has attracted the attention of Zele Racing.
1-55 - Chooses to drive an STT1 car for Zele Racing.
56-100 - Has one more crack at the German Formula Three title, and probably some A1GP action.
9 - Devaney jumps at the chance to drive an STT1 car, despite Zele Racing not looking good for the coming season.

Image Robert Doornbos
Robert Doornbos is a Red Bull-affiliated third-place International Formula 3000 finisher; of course he's attracted the interest of Arden.
1-60 - Grabs the chance to mount a Championship Challenge with both hands.
61-100 - Chooses instead to focus on his testing duties and attempting to break into Formula One.
17 - Arden get the first of the drivers they want.

Image Adrian Zaugg
South Africa's Zaugg finished an unremarkable seventh in Formula BMW in 2004, but Red Bull wants to fast-track him and he has a couple of offers on the table.
1-50 - Jumps at the chance for an STT1 drive for Arden International.
51-100 - Doesn't feel ready for such powerful machinery and signs up for Formula Renault instead.
1 - As any man would, Zaugg jumps at the chance to race at such a high level.

Image Steven Kane
Northern Ireland's Steven Kane, brother of Jonny, finished in third place in Spanish Formula Three in 2004. He now faces a choice of what to do next.
1-60 - Accepts the other Zele Racing STT1.
61-100 - Follows the well-trodden path through British Formula Three.
92 - Decides to progress his career somewhat more gradually.

Image Richard Antinucci
After a decent campaign in Japanese Formula Three, Richard Antinucci is looking to relocate to Europe. As with most of the drivers in this series, he has two choices.
1-60 - Takes Zele Racing's offer of a substandard STT1 drive.
61-100 - Agrees to drive for Team Midland in the Formula Three Euro Series instead.
40 - Zele Racing's second car will be the land of the free and home of the brave.

Image Lewis Hamilton
In last year's Formula Three Euro Series, Lewis Hamilton finished fifth for Manor Motorsport. His McLaren affiliation means that the Formula One giant will be watching carefully wherever he ends up this year.
1-50 - Mounts a title charge with Super Nova Racing in their STT1 car.
51-100 - Spends 2005 as odds-on Euro Series favourite with ASM Formule 3.
15 - Super Nova grabs all the headlines by signing one of the most hyped drivers of his generation.

Image Fabrizio del Monte
After finishing as runner up in Euro Formula 3000 in 2004, del Monte has competing offers from Super 3000 and Champ Car to consider.
1-50 - Accepts a full-time drive as Durango Corse first driver, in the STT2 championship.
51-100 - Pursues part-time drives in Champ Car with the hope of it turning into something more.
93 - Durango sees another driver slip through their fingers.

Image Raffaele Giammaria
An eighth-place season in International F3000 isn't exactly something to be sniffed at; indeed, more than one Super 3000 team turns out to be sniffing.
1-30 - Takes the offer of AEZ Racing's second STT2 seat.
31-70 - Instead chooses the first seat of their STT2 rivals, Durango Corse.
71-100 - Goes entirely elsewhere to drive in Formula Renault 3.5.
61 - Durango finally have their first driver.

Image Michele Rugolo
Who knows if he's ever been described as a poor team's Giammaria, but this Italian has offers from the same teams after finishing fourth in his national Formula Three series in 2004.
1-40 - Chooses to drive AEZ Racing's second car.
41-80 - Chooses the same position, but with Durango Corse.
81-100 - Moves into GT racing in America.
13 - Rugolo completes the AEZ roster.

Image Matteo Meneghello
Matteo Meneghello only had a one-off International Formula 3000 drive in 2004, but has a couple of more enticing offers this year.
1-50 - Goes for the STT2 drive offered by Durango Corse.
51-100 - Prefers to move into Formula Renault 3.5 with Eurointernational.
73 - Durango really have had no luck so far with their driver bids.

Image Matteo Grassotto
Another Matteo - this time it's Grassotto, who doesn't have anywhere to go after a bit-part drive in International Formula 3000 in 2004. But Durango wants him.
1-90 - Finally, Durango complete their driver line-up.
91-100 - Chooses inexplicably to scrabble around for drives that don't seem to exist.
40 - He literally couldn't say no.

Image Alvaro Parente
Portugal's Parente performed pretty passably in his British Formula Three rookie year in 2004; Carlin want him to stay there, but BCN Competicion want him to drive their second STT1 car.
1-65 - Accepts an excellent offer from BCN.
66-100 - Sticks with Carlin for a second season in Britain.
63 - It was a harder decision than anybody expected, but Parente picks Super 3000.

Image Geido van der Garde
Giedo Gijsbertus Gerrit van der Garde has the funding to match his name. Will he pursue a second season in the Formula Three Euro Series, or buy an STT2 drive?
1-55 - Super Nova have their second driver and a handy budget boost.
56-100 - Takes his money to Team Rosberg in Formula Three instead.
39 - Super Nova go Dutch for their second seat.

Image Adrian Sutil
Many teams were rumoured to be interested in the German who is probably still best known for his perfect season in Swiss Formula Ford, but in the end only two offers landed on his desk: one from Coloni, and one from ASM Formule 3.
1-60 - "What you need is to buy an STT2 drive, clearly."
61-100 - "Nonsense, join a better Formula Three team and we'll make you a star."
14 - With true German efficiency, Sutil signs up to drive for Coloni.

Astromega is pleased to welcome both Alex Yoong and Jan Heylen in our team.

If possible, for the British F3000, we'll try to sign the following drivers, in order of preference, to replace the absent seat left by Yoong:

1. Ralph Firman
2. Bas Leinders
3. Olivier Beretta
4. Nicky Pastorelli

What did she do in her past life to deserve this?

Durango Corse are delighted to welcome Raffaele Giammaria and Matteo Grassotto to the team. Both drivers have shown their ability on this level and will certainly be in the running for the STT2 title.

Durango also wishes all the best for Michele Rugolo who has ended his partnership with the team and joined rivals AEZ.

Fair to say the signing process didn't go as planned but we're happy with the drivers we got in the end.

DAMS revealed their lineup for the inaugural Super 3000 championship, with Formula One test driver Ryan Briscoe and Formula 3 driver Franck Perera, in accordance with the team's partnership with Toyota's driver program.

"We are excited to have Briscoe and Perera aboard in our fight for the STT1 Championship," Said Jean-Paul Driot yesterday. "Although we are new to open formula formats we are confident that both drivers will be competitive from the start."

Ma-con is excited to announce two experienced drivers with 2004 Japanese F3 runner-up of Joao Paulo de Oliveira and Chanoch Nissany that will drive Ma-con this year.

Otto Schwadtke hopes that the team achieves at least a better result for Ma-con so that ma-con can confident ahead of this season.

"We're proud to have Oliveira on our team. He's well driven in Japan and we know that he's an exceptional driver to watch in Ma-con" says Otto.

"Nissany is also a good driver, who brings some good money than anyone. I expect him to have at least a good season in my opinion so no doubts about him."

Well it turns out that Oliveira was a good signing for ma-con, but Nissany a bit overturning point. We'll see how he develops during this stage of the season.

Rumours are swirling around the paddock that reigning World Rally Champion Sébastien Loeb is set to run at the historic Pau Grand Prix with at least one team interested in signing the Frenchman for a one-off drive.

No calendar clashes get in the way of an open-wheel debut in S3000 with Rally d’Italia the week before and the Cyprus Rally the week after which leaves the decision in the hands of series management & main employer Citroën to permit the World Rally driver to race in the series.

That’s right, Super Nova are going to enquire if Mr. Loeb is available for the Pau Grand Prix, if successful we will rent another Dallara GP2/05-Nissan combination for him.

(P.S. Our second driver is wrong on the first page, we have Giedo van der Garde not Michele Rugolo)

To clarify, does DAMS receive the 200.000 from Toyota now or only if they win the championship at the end of the season?

Ralph Firman has signed with Autobacs Racing Team Aguri to compete for a full season of Super GT. The 300km Fuji race clashes with the British 3000, for which he has been offered an STT1 drive.
1-25 - Drops out of the Super GT race to drive a fast single-seater again.
26-100 - Remains committed to Team Aguri.

Re: 2005 Super 3000 Championship - PAU GRAND PRIX ENTRIES

Post by Aislabie »

AEZ Racing would like to withdraw Michele Rugolo's entry for the Pau Grand Prix.

Instead, we would like to approach Mika Salo to drive a hired Reynard 99L, powered by the Zytek-Judd KV that we already own.

If he turns down our offer, we will go with only one entry to the Pau Grand Prix.

Pau Grand Prix - Guest Driver RNG

Post by Aislabie »

Image Mika Salo
Mika Salo has boundless experience in open-wheel racing, but for the 2003 season he made the switch to tin-tops. Will he now make a brief transition back in order to guest for the AEZ Racing team?
1-50 - Salo accepts the offer of a drive in the historic Pau Grand Prix.
51-100 - Although he doesn't have anything on the table, Salo has no interest in junior formulae.
87 - The Finn rebuffs AEZ, who will enter only one car to the Pau Grand Prix.

Image Sebastien Loeb
Rally maestro Sebastien Loeb has been offered the chance to race a third car for Super Nova. He's never driven an open-wheeler, but the series has offered him the dispensation to drive, if he can get it past his bosses at Citroen.
1-50 - A racer at heart, Loeb persuades his employers to let him race in far safer settings than his rallies.
51-100 - The memo from Citroen HQ reads simply "mdr, nan".
10 - It's happening! The grid's only guest driver is a good one
