Yuuhhhsseeeee!! That makes a full grid then! Hello there Gonzo! Regarding the Penske-Hogan situation, it's gonna boil into something bigger within the year, so hang on there.

Engines and chassis to bo done later, followed by sponsors, as I know there are a couple of teams applying for sponsors that have criterias regarding drivers and engines, so I'll sort that out first.

Here it comes.....
Chassis

The class-leading Reynard chassis was the most sought after, for good reason, with a total of 11 teams applying.
Reynard 2KI
-Mo Nunn Racing 1-10
-Team Green 11-20
-Payton/Coyne Racing 21-25
-Della Pena Motorsports 26-30
-Walker Racing 31-40
-Team Penske 41-50
-Team Hogan 51-60
-Forsythe Racing 61-70
-PacWest Racing Enterprises 71-80
-All American Racers 81-90
-Chip Ganassi Racing 91-100
The first number is...14! Green lands the first works Reynard deal.
Mo Nunn Racing 1-10
-Payton/Coyne Racing 11-15
-Della Pena Motorsports 16-20
-Walker Racing 21-30
-Team Penske 31-40
-Team Hogan 41-50
-Forsythe Racing 51-60
-PacWest Racing Enterprises 61-70
-All American Racers 71-80
-Chip Ganassi Racing 81-90
The RNG reads....83! Ganassi takes the remaining works slot.
Mo Nunn Racing 1-10
-Payton/Coyne Racing 11-15
-Della Pena Motorsports 16-20
-Walker Racing 21-30
-Team Penske 31-40
-Team Hogan 41-50
-Forsythe Racing 51-60
-PacWest Racing Enterprises 61-70
-All American Racers 71-80
Who's gonna get it? It's......68! Bruce McCaw's pleased to get a great chassis at least.
Mo Nunn Racing 1-10
-Payton/Coyne Racing 11-15
-Della Pena Motorsports 16-20
-Walker Racing 21-30
-Team Penske 31-40
-Team Hogan 41-50
-Forsythe Racing 51-60
-All American Racers 61-70
The fourth number is....13! NO WAY!! Payton/Coyne get themselves a good chassis package, ahead of Penske no less?!?
And so it boils down to....
Mo Nunn Racing 1-10
-Della Pena Motorsports 11-15
-Walker Racing 16-25
-Team Penske 26-35
-Team Hogan 36-45
-Forsythe Racing 46-55
-All American Racers 56-65
It's....52! Forsythe snaps up the last Reynard deal, and somehow Penske end up without one!
Swift 011.a
King Hiro's chassis builder originally had 5 applicants, but now that Forsythe and PacWest have arranged deals, Rahal, Newman Haas and Della Pena are the only teams remaining.
Team Rahal 1-40
Della Pena Motorsports 41-50
Newman Haas Racing 51-100
The RNG reads....7. Rahal gets the first works Swift deal.
Della Pena Motorsports 1-10
Newman Haas Racing 11-50
The RNG blurts out.....31. Newman Haas takes the remaining works deal. Della Pena still gets the Swift chassis though.
Eagle 997.a
Dan Gurney's Eagles have had a pretty tumultuous time in CART, but a couple of teams have decided to go brave on this one and take a punt.
Bettenhausen Racing and Walker Racing automatically get works deals and hopes to put it to good use, assuming the car will actually allow that.
And finally....
Lola B2K/00
PPI Motorsports 1-20
Patrick Racing 21-40
Team Penske 41-65
All American Racers 66-80
Team Hogan 81-90
Mo Nunn Racing 91-100
The RNG reads.....49. Penske finally nabs a works deal.
PPI Motorsports 1-20
Patrick Racing 21-40
All American Racers 41-55
Team Hogan 56-65
Mo Nunn Racing 66-75
And the RNG displays.....26! Patrick claims the second Lola works deal.
PPI, AAR, Hogan and Mo Nunn will settle for the non-works Lola chassis.

Penske driver bids

Car #2
Paul Tracy - $2.8 million
Gil De Ferran - 2.5 Million

Car #3
Greg Moore - 2.5 Million
Helio Castroneves - 2.5 Million
Gil De Ferran - 2.5 Million

Hogan Driver Bid:

Christian Fittipaldi - 1.8 Million
Raul Boesel - 1.8 Million

Both Teams would intend to supply both Chassis Reynard 2KI however failing that, both will be Lola's instead.
Penske's Engine will be a Honda (Type HR-0) whilst Hogan's will be a Toyota (Type RVA)

Penske Sponsors: Marlboro and Mcdonald's
Hogan Sponsors: Marlboro and Denso

One question is that if Penske dosen't supply their own chassis at this time, it wouldn't be possible for Hogan Racing to return to partner with Penske?

Hello Gonzo, since Penske and Hogan will use the same motors, will you be bidding for Honda or Toyota?

Both will aim for Honda, or failing that, Toyota will be their second choice.

And off we head to.....
Engines
Mercedes Type IC180-E
Bettenhausen Racing 1-15
Walker Racing 16-25
Chip Ganassi Racing 26-55
Forsythe Racing 56-80
PacWest Racing Enterprises 81-100
The first number will be....4...9! Ganassi has first dibs on werks Mercs.
Bettenhausen Racing 1-15
Walker Racing 16-25
Forsythe Racing 26-50
PacWest Racing Enterprises 51-60
The RNG flashes up.... it's...27. Forsythe nabs the second slot, hoping that the pure power will trump its reliability if that's to be believed, something the Mercs weren't good at in '99.
Bettenhausen Racing 1-15
Walker Racing 16-25
PacWest Racing Enterprises 26-35
It's....9!!! Bettenhausen and Merc reunite for another jahre, hoping for some more success.
So Ganassi, Forsythe and Bettenhausen have Merc engines, hoping the spirit of the "Beast" will transfer to this one.

And it's off to Honda then....
Honda Type HR-0
Team Penske 1-35
Team Green 36-55
Payton/Coyne Racing 56-70
PacWest Racing Enterprises 71-85
Della Pena Motorsports 86-90
Team Hogan 91-100
The RNG reads.....15. Penske has the first Honda works deal.
Team Green 1-30
Payton/Coyne Racing 31-40
PacWest Racing Enterprises 41-55
Della Pena Motorsports 56-60
Team Hogan 61-70
Ding-ding-ding goes the RNG, who gets that last works deal... it's 48! Odoroki !! Damm PacWest have a strong package!
Team Green 1-30
Payton/Coyne Racing 31-40
Della Pena Motorsports 41-45
Team Hogan 46-55
And it's.....30. Green acquire Honda motors, albeit later than expected.
Payton/Coyne Racing 1-10
Della Pena Motorsports 11-15
Team Hogan 16-25
The RNG reads....2. Payton/Coyne have a decent Reynard-Honda combo, so things look pretty bright for them.
And who gets the last Honda slot?
Della Pena Motorsports 1-5
Team Hogan 6-15
It's gonna be....10! Hogan! Rumors are abounding that Roger hijacked the thing, according to John Della Pena, but in the end Penske, Hogan, Green, Payton/Coyne and PacWest have HR-0s.
Toyota Type RVA
Mo Nunn Racing
Walker Racing
All American Racers
Della Pena Motorsports
Since all 4 engine slots consist of works support, and there are four teams gunning for four spots, all of them receive works RVAs., something that they are truly grateful for and hope to put to good effect.
Ford Type XF
Surprisingly every team except those who applied for XFs have arranged deals, but there are still two more works slots to be acquired.
Patrick Racing 1-25
PPI Motorsports 26-50
Team Rahal 51-75
Newman Haas Racing 76-100
The RNG reads....84. Newman Haas unsurprisingly end up with the first Ford works deal.
Patrick Racing 1-25
PPI Motorsports 26-50
Team Rahal 51-75
And the final works slot goes to...... it's a.....25! It was bloody close, but PPI agonizingly miss out by just one lil' digit! Patrick gets it, ahead of Rahal!

With Patrick Racing ending up with Tecate sponsorship and Adrian Fernandez as a driver I just announce that I will not make any changes to #20 offers (de Ferran, Kanaan, Papis). #40 offers (Carpentier, Gordon, Gidley) are voided.

With PPI I would ask to swap car sponsorships - Nextel taking #96 and Pioneer #97. No changes on driver bids.

Mo Nunn 56-80
Newman Haas 81-100

South African oil company Sasol is more than pleased to accept Walker's offer and hopes that will help to boost CART's image in SA.

Next up is Mobil 1. With one remaining offer on the desk, which is Walker, they accept, meaning there are two more available slots.

Following that up is 7-Eleven, who sign with AAR.

With only one offer, Hugo Boss will sponsor Team Rahal.

Hewlett-Packard
Patrick Racing 1-50
Newman Haas Racing 50-100
It's......a 49. Patrick gets it.

Swiss firm ABB will partner up with PPI for 2000.

Then we have PlayStation, which proved to be pretty popular, with the two lucky teams making an appearance in Gran Turismo 2 through a new game edition.
PacWest 1-30
Bettenhausen 31-50
Newman Haas 51-80
Forsythe Racing 81-100
The RNG displays.....a 79 and....a 13! Newman Haas and PacWest will have their cars available in GT2 through the Grand Turismo 2 CART Edition, which includes Road America, Long Beach, Adelaide, Fontana, a Twin Ring Motegi roval, a Las Vegas Strip street circuit and Gateway, which can be bought for $20.00. Denso have two offers, with Hogan having Honda motors that rules them out of the picture.
Mo Nunn Racing 1-45
AAR 46-100

Jeff Gordon's sponsor DuPont received two offers from Patrick and AAR.

Payton/Coyne arranges deals with ASUS Technology and Coors Light respectively.

Samsung
PacWest 1-70
Bettenhausen 71-100
It's a 59. PacWest's getting some pretty solid sponsors.

Then we go to Castrol, who initially backs up due to them having afflictions with Toyota but in the end they accept Rahal's offer.

And finally, Petrobras signs with AAR.

As for Mo Nunn's 1st primary sponsor, Rothmans folded at the end of '99, so next in line is Hollywood Cigarettes, which they accept.

So here's how the sponsors stack up as of now:

Penske Racing Secondary Sponsors:

Mobil 1
DirecTv (Indeck in case both Tracy and Moore gets chosen)

I will keep Indeck aside only until both Canadians Tracy and Moore accepts to race Penske. Failing otherwise, I'll look at DirecTV instead.

Would this also mean Hogan gets the same Secondary sponsors as well or I can seek different ones?

Yes, Hogan would automatically have the same secondary sponsors.
If I'm being frank, I reckon Hogan probably won't survive, at least in its current form, beyond 2000. Carl may have managed to keep his team afloat, but he's now past 71, and his ailing health coupled with the growing strain of running his truck rental services firm means he might opt to step back and spend more time with his family. Most likely scenario is that he might probably sell off Hogan to another team, close the entire operation, or offload it to Roger Penske who uses this opportunity to create a 'Penske Young Guns' squad. What do you think?

Anyway, just need Winks , Bleu and Klon to post their sponsor re-bids and we can get things sorted.

Based on my knowledge, i know Carl Hogan died in 2001 but i could probably look at announcing the news that Hogan has retired from public life midway into 2000 as a result of his declining health. Also, i would keep it in mind, unless there is no IRL in this sort of non-canon universe, i'd suggest Penske would focus more on the Rival series IRL in 2001, having already entered the Indy 500 ahead of a full time move to the series the following year. So chances of a Penske B Team may seem unlikely at this stage.

Well, then - time to rumble:

I will give signing Qantas, Mobil 1 and Powerware a shot, in that order.

Driver bids, Car #16:
Paul Tracy - $4,000,000
Alessandro Zanardi - $3,000,000
Townsend Bell - $800,000

Thanks! And so time to wrap this up then.....
Sponsors Part 2.5
Qantas
The Australian airline company received three bids from Della Pena, PPI and Bettenhausen respectively.
Della Pena 1-25
PPI 26-65
Bettenhausen 66-100
And it's.....67!! Bettenhausen gets it.
DIRECTV
Well, DirecTV's pretty shite these days, but in the turn of the new millennium it was still doing pretty well for itself particularly in the rural States, and it's a sponsor a couple of teams wouldn't mind having, as illustrated by its interest.
Penske 1-55
Della Pena 56-75
Forsythe 76-100
And its....3. Penske nabs its first secondary sponsor, and so do Hogan.
Molson Brewery
The Canadian brewery had two offers coming from PacWest and AAR.
1-50 AAR
51-100 PacWest
It turns out to be.....78. PacWest complete their sponsorship package.
That means AAR will have yellow Teflonica...sorry, Telefonica on the #36 car.
With former Walker sponsor Cummins up next, only Della Pena are interested in them and so they pencil in a deal.
Then we head to Mobil 1, who have two more team slots remaining, which are taken by Penske and Forsythe.
Finally, next up on PPI's radar is Castrol, who they are more than happy to sign with.
And so, that rounds off sponsors. Here's the final list then....

Team Penske: Marlboro, Mobil 1, DirecTV

Team Hogan: Marlboro, Mobil 1, DirecTV

Team Green: KOOL, Klein Tools, Gillette

Forsythe Racing: Players, Indeck, Mobil 1

Chip Ganassi Racing: Target, Panasonic, Fujifilm

Team Rahal: Budweiser(#8), Red Bull (#7), Hugo Boss,Castrol

Patrick Racing: Shell, Tecate, Hewlett-Packard, DuPont

Newman Haas Racing: K-Mart, Coca-Cola, PlayStation

Walker Racing: Valvoline, Sasol, Mobil 1

PacWest Racing Enterprises: McDonald's (1st car), Molson Brewery (2nd car) ,PlayStation, Samsung

Mo Nunn Racing: Hollywood Cigarettes (1st car), Pennzoil (2nd car), Visa, Denso

Payton/Coyne Racing: Visteon (#34), MCI WorldCom (#32), ASUS Technology, Coors Light

Della Pena Motorsports: Miller Lite, Corona Beer, Cummins

All American Racers: Motorola (#36), Telefonica (#37) ,7-Eleven, Petrobras

Bettenhausen Racing: Alumax, Coca-Cola, Qantas

PPI Motorsports: Pioneer (#96), Nextel (#97), ABB, Castrol

Drivers coming soon. Also, do you support the idea of having transport costs for this year? What I'm thinking is I'll keep it the same when we're having races in the US, but the further we venture, let's say to places like Canada, Australia and Germany, the higher the costs, I'd like to know down below!!

But I also have a bright yellow Telefonica car now so that’s errr... interesting

Canada and Mexico's not that far. it's north and south of the border, so the costs won't be as high. where it will be problematic, though, would be places like Australia, Japan and brazil, as I fear the smaller teams might not be able to afford the trip.

Well, we've given every team the same budget, so I guess that helps somewhat hehehe....
Anyway, the ultimate goal here is to have a maximum of 3 international rounds excluding Canada, US, Brazil and Mexico,(currently we have Motegi and Adelaide) and with the third international event for the next couple of seasons CART will be trialling a variety of different locations before settling on a final spot down the line.

honestly, I think we are perfectly fine with the number of events we have. we race in pretty much every top tier race tracks in North America bar Watkins Glen and Indy. plus, we have international races at places with a solid IndyCar following. if we wanted to go to Europe, I would suggest England, as they have some sort of respect for indycar compared to the rest of the old continent and has a decent following. after all, they show the events on eurosport.

but still, I don't think we should add another international event. we should focus on snatching Indy back from that rascal Tony George's grasp! that, and somehow get Watkins Glen back, but indy's the priority

Drivers Part 1
So here's a list of which drivers that have been approached by which team:
Gil de Ferran: Newman Haas, Rahal, Penske, Patrick
Helio Castroneves: Newman Haas, Walker, Penske
Olivier Panis: Newman Haas
Christian Fittipaldi: Newman Haas, Hogan
Raul Boesel : Hogan
Alex Zanardi: Newman Haas, Mo Nunn, Coyne, Ganassi, Bettenhausen
Robby Gordon: AAR, Rahal
Bryan Herta: AAR, Mo Nunn
Casey Mears: AAR
Scott Dixon: AAR, PacWest
Jenson Button: Walker
Memo Gidley: Walker, Coyne
Max Wilson: AAR, PacWest, Della Pena
Sarah Fisher: AAR, Mo Nunn
Sam Hornish Jr: Mo Nunn
Dario Franchitti: Green
Jacques Villeneuve: Green
Tony Stewart: Green
Greg Moore: Green, Forsythe, Penske
Tony Kanaan: Green, Mo Nunn, Ganassi, Patrick
Paul Tracy: Green, Forsythe, Ganassi, Penske, Bettenhausen
Bruno Juncqueira: Mo Nunn
Cristiano da Matta: PacWest, Forsythe
Jan Magnussen: PacWest
Roberto Moreno: PacWest, Coyne, PPI
Lee Bentham: Coyne
Kenny Brack: PacWest, Forsythe, PPI
Alex Yoong: Della Pena
Mauricio Gugelmin: Della Pena
Patrick Carpentier: Forsythe, Ganassi, PPI
Alex Tagliani: Forsythe
Jimmy Vasser: Rahal
Max Papis: Rahal, Patrick
Tom Kristensen: Rahal
Oriol Servia: Coyne, PPI
Juan Pablo Montoya: Ganassi
Adrian Fernandez: Patrick
Alex Barron: PPI
Nick Heidfeld: PPI
Townsend Bell: Bettenhausen

Let's get the samba rolling, then!!!
Since he's the champion from last season, Juan Pablo Montoya gets first pick. It's not much of a pick though, as only one offer comes from his current employer Ganassi, which he takes and hopes to defend his crown in style. The problem in that plan? Everyone else is hungry wanting that very same thing......

Bruno Juncqueira's first up, having received an offer from Mo Nunn as well as Frank Williams.
Pilots the Mo Nunn #66 1-45
Accepts the dream offer to go to F1 46-100
And it's......70!!!!!!! Juncqueira takes the offer with both hands and heads to Williams, snatching it from Frome Boy's grasp.

Following the Brazilian is Alex Zanardi, two-time CART champ whose '99 Williams tenure was the stuff of nightmares. However, a return to CART would help him to rediscover his speed, and various teams are interested in securing the ultra-talented Italian's services.
Mo Nunn 1-35
Newman Haas 36-55
Coyne 56-85
Bettenhausen 86-100
And the end result is......1! Alessandro reunites with his star engineer at Ganassi by spearheading his new outfit.

Mauricio Gugelmin
Big Mo was disappointed that PacWest didn't want to keep him on, and so he's faced with two choices...
1-35 Winces and signs with Della Pena
36-100 Opts to retire and take a ride in Brazilian Stock Cars
And it's....a 51. Big Mo calls time on his CART career.

Paul Tracy
"PT", having finished 3rd last season, is rearing to go for more in 2000, and a total of 5 teams are anticipating the prospect of having CART's most popular (or most repulsive, depending on yer take) figure in the field.
Lands a PT sledgehammer in the driver market with Bettenhausen 1-20
Shakes hands with Gerry Forsythe 21-45
Continues to annoy the hell out of Kim Green by crashing into his teammate (or under caution) or shoving him once KG inevitably flares up 46-70
Returns with Roger and is happy that he's not driving a Penske.... but is a tad less happy when he finds out he's pedalling a Lola 71-100
And it will be....23!! West Hill's Thrill gets ready to kickass in another new environment (much to Klon's sadness)

Roberto Moreno
Aidan's Story Time Whippin' Boy, or 'Pupo' received three offers coming from PPI, PacWest and Coyne respectively.
1-30 PPI
31-65 PacWest
66-100 Payton/Coyne
And it's....14! Pupo will pilot the #96 Pioneer car.

Kenny Brack
1998 IRL champ and '99 Indy winner 'Superswede' has got three offers from PPI, PacWest and Forsythe, the latter looking much more tempting.
1-25 Signs with PPI
26-35 Goes with PacWest
36-100 Teams up with PT at Forsythe
The RNG reads....92!!! BORK BORK!!

Memo Gidley
Once living in a small boat in California with a couple of lads named 'Bugle Tom' , Memo has come from a mechanic to a racer, and a pretty decent one at that. So....
1-55 Takes Payton/Coyne
56-100 Follows the money and signs with Walker
The RNG displays....a 42! A fully recovered Walter Payton and Dale Coyne are elated at obtaining a potential diamond, and that they don't have to pay a lot for it.

Greg Moore
A horrific accident at Fontana '99 left Greg at one stage tethering on the verge of death, but against all odds he's beaten it and hopes to get back on track as soon as possible, something a couple of big teams including his former squad are relishing.
1-55 Grabs a big break with Penske
56-80 Stays with Forsythe
81-100 Ventures into new ground with Green
And it's....a 28!! Greg looks forward to return to action with Roger and even offers to take a pay cut for the races he's missed.
That means Gonzalez has to nominate a replacement driver for the first five races.

Dario Franchitti
With only one offer from his current team Green, Dario is pleased with the environment he's currently having and gladly re-signs with Green, eager to go one better this year.

Cristiano da Matta
'Shorty' had two offers in the form of PacWest and Forsythe, but now that the Forsythe one was taken he pencils a deal with Bruce McCaw's squad.

Michael Andretti
Michael received one sole offer coming from his present team Newman Haas, largely in part to his high wage demands. He continues on with them and hopes to finally hit the jackpot this year.

Lee Bentham
Bentham was unlucky not to get a drive for Forsythe in '98, mostly due to Players wanting a Québécois in the team, which is a shame as he's actually a pretty talented quality. However, Payton/Coyne are interested in his services and this could be a good stepping stone for the Ontario native.
1-70 Drives for Payton/Coyne
71-100 Opts to look elsewhere
And it will be....7! Payton/Coyne complete what looks to be a decent package for 2000.

Jimmy Bl.... apologies, Vasser
The '96 CART received one sole offer coming from Rahal, which isn't exactly a bad offer to take and so he will be at the controls of the Budweiser #7.

Scott Dixon
The young Kiwi received offers to join AAR and PacWest, but he much prefers honing his skills in Lights before making the big step.
1-25 AAR
26-45 PacWest
46-100 Lights
It will be...a 97. Dixon remains in Lights with PacWest.

Max Papis
The Italian impressed hugely in his first season with Rahal, edging out his more experienced teammate, and has his eyes set on becoming a future championship contender. However, 'Mad Max' has received another letter from another source.
Stays with Rahal 1-60
Moves on to a brave new challenge at Patrick 61-100
And its......84!!! Mad Max thanks Bobby for giving him his big break and heads off to Pat Patrick's team. Papis and Fernandez is one of many teammate pairings to watch this year.
Max Wilson
Another Max, this time Max Wilson, who wishes to get himself an F1 drive but CART is still a decent choice for him.
1-40 Concentrates fully on F3000
41-80 Will race for Della Pena but will skip any rounds clashing with F3000
81-90 Races full-time with Della Pena
91-100 Looks for an F1 testing role
It's gonna be...55! Wilson will compete but a replacement driver is to be found for any rounds clashing with F3000.
As for the time-honored question of cash:
1-35 $500k
36-55 $800k
56-80 $1.1 m
81-100 $1.3 m
It's...a 62! Wilson will bring $1.1 mil of sweet 'Murica dollaz.
That leaves the door open for Malaysian Alex Yoong, who isn't exactly the sharpest tool in the shed, but is eager to drive and his presence might bolster the already-rapidly-growing interest in motorsport in Malaysia.
1-20 Pushes away the sofa and finds an F3000 offer
21-40 Bankrolls himself into an F1 testing role at Sauber, given Petronas's involvement with the team
41-100 Will drive the remaining races for Della Pena
And so it will be...42!?! Syabas! Or just a case of the Chinese proverb good luck, bad luck, who the flying f**k knows?!? At least John Della Pena can take solace in the oodles of cash he's savin' and makin'.
Speaking of cash...
1-40 $1 m
40-80 $1.15 m
90-100 $1.3 m
It will be..a 92. Yoong will bring $1.3 mil for the seat.
Sam Hornish Jr
He received an offer for Mo Nunn's second car, but he much prefers moving up to the IRL where an all-oval-schedule is more his thing, so he declines.

Gil de Ferran
Likeable and stealthily talented, being able to wring results out of any machinery, it's no surprise that he has the joint-highest amount of offers in the field, most of which have been claimed though.
Grabs the second seat at Penske 1-60
Takes the Rahal #8 seat 61-100
It will be....6...0!!!!! Gil heads off to Roger-land where he feels he can really challenge for a title.

Tom Kristensen
The Dane has made a name for himself in sportscars, but Rahal, having seen how Max Papis performed last year, hopes to uncover a potential jewel.
Takes the Red Bull Rahal #8 1-50
Joins Audi's Le Mans programme 51-95
Joins BTCC with....erm, Vauxhall?? 96-100
The RNG flashes a.....5!! Kristensen joins Rahal.

Tony Kanaan
The Brazilian had a decent season in the third Forsythe car, including a fantabulous win at Michigan. Now in his third year in the series, he is feeling confident about his prospects, especially if he gets some decent equipment.
Takes the #12 Ganassi ride 1-50
Goes with Green to join his frat mate Dario 51-100
The RNG reads...9!! TK gets arguably the biggest break of his career and sails off to CGR.

Townsend Bell
3rd in the Barber Dodge Pro Series, Townsend is plenty talented. He could do with a year in Lights to sharpen his skills, but he's considering the Bettenhausen offer, even if it doesn't pay him that much.
1-60 Searches for a ride in Lights
61-100 Takes the offer from Bettenhausen
And it's.....a 67!! Townsend will sign with Bettenhausen.

Helio Castroneves
The Brazilian received a fair couple of offers, but now only one remains in the form of Walker. Not too pleased about the prospects of an Eagle, he instead decides to hold out and wait for any other offers.

Alex Barron
The San Diego hailer received an oval-only offer from PPI, which he's more than happy to take.

Patrick Carpentier
Patrique had three bids coming from PPI, Ganassi and Forsythe, but all of them have been taken and so he's facing the prospect of sitting on the sidelines. He will wait for further offers though.

Nick Heidfeld
The F3000 champion received a road-course only option from PPI , as well as an F1 offer from Prost.
1-25 Goes with PPI
26-100 Re-enacts the horrible RL 2000 season with Prost
It will be....a 34. Quick Nick does consider it but ultimately pursues his F1 aspirations.

Olivier Panis
After a fairly quiet two seasons after his big smash at Montreal, 'Panique' is looking for a change of scenery and this might be the spot for him. He's been offered an McLaren testing role, but he's too pleasantly surprised to know to Newman Haas are interested in him.
Takes the McLaren test seat 1-40
Signs a surprise deal with Newman Haas 41-100
And it's.....87!!!!!! Olivier will looking to let his name known Stateside especially in competitive machinery.

Christian Fittipaldi
With Panis having taken his seat at Newman Haas, Fittipaldi knuckles down and settles for the seat at Hogan.

Casey Mears
The son of Indy legend Rick, Casey received an offer from AAR, which he takes and hopes to achieve the same success as his dad.

Robby Gordon
The straight-talkin' Californian has been slipping ever since his breakout year in '95, but he accepts the remaining offer at AAR and hopes to rediscover his mojo this season.

Jenson Button
The Frome Boy may have lost a Williams F1 drive, but he's been given a chance to be McLaren's test driver along with a seat at Derrick Walker's team.
Joins Walker 1-15
Joins Walker and dovetails it with a McLaren test role 15-60
Goes fulltime testing duties at McLaren 61-100
And the RNG flashes....a 57!! It was close, but Buttons signs for Walker and in turn becomes the youngest racer in the field.

Sarah Fisher
The aspiring lady racer received an offer to pedal Mo Nunn's second car, but Walker has given her an offer to join his IRL team too.
1-50 Drives the Pennzoil Mo Nunn car
51-85 Signs with Walker in IRL
86-100 Does not refuse, but instead opts to wait before making a final decision
It will be.....89!! Sarah will wait.

Finally, into the ring we have Tony Stewart, the 96-97 IRL champ. He's had a decent offer from Kim Green, but Gibbs are keen, really keen to hold on to him.
1-30 Spits even more in Tony George's face by signing for Green
31-100 Stays on with Joe Gibbs, eventually becoming a multiple-time Cup champ
And it's.....20!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Coincidence probably, but Stewart will partner up with Franchitti for 2000, sending the world into a nuclear apocalypse.

So here's the first round of driving signings done then.
Here are the seats that are still to be filled:
PPI #97(road courses)
PacWest #18
Mo Nunn Racing #66

So Bleu, Kinnik, and RedEyes, please post your re-bids before 7 May, 12:00 GMT. So lads, what do you think of your catches? Let me know down below!

In effort to give Castroneves a chance to appear at least, Penske would like to offer him a seat to cover the first 5 races in place of Greg Moore.

Basically all my first choice selections which is great! Really happy to have snatched Panis away from F1 as I reckon he’ll be a front running driver on the road course races at least.

Then to have Gordon/Mears in the AAR cars with also finally dumping the Eagle chassis even though we built the darn things is going to be good to watch in the midfield.

Kristensen and Vasser in Team Rahal, decent pair and I'm happy with the decision! They should be heading on for a good results and I hope for a good season even if things don't get too bad.

And for Coyne, looks like a good result. Gidley and Bentham pair shouldn't be too bad as I expect with the Reynard-Honda combination. I'm expecting a step forward ahead from our boys.

And while we're at it, here's a pic of V8 Supercars announcer Neil Crompton testing for Tasman Motorsports in '96....

And that's not the only series he'll be presenting in '00.....

Driver Signings Part 1.5

Sarah Fisher
After opting to wait, Sarah has come to a final decision:
1-35 Opts to race fulltime with Mo Nunn
36-65 Will race with Mo Nunn, but only on ovals
66-100 Goes for Walker in IRL

And its......32!! Sarah will race the full season and is giddy to have an accomplished teammate in Alex.

Tomas Enge
The Czech youngster is focused on having a good year in F3000 en route to F1, but PPI are keen on seeing what he can do in more potent machinery.
Goes for PPI at the road courses 1-25
Remains committed in F3000 26-100

And it's...........88. Tomas focuses on F3000.

Tora Takagi
The 'Tiger' , fresh off a disappointing 1999 after showing promise with Tyrrell has been courted by PPI, but Pioneer want him to race at Motegi, not just the road courses.

1-25 Refuses
26-100 Joins PPI for the road courses

The RNG reads....88. Tora will drive for PPI, but Pioneer wants Tora to race at Motegi, and might pay more if he does.

As for money from Tora himself:
1-30 $200k
31-60 $400k
61-90 $600k
91-100 $800k
And it's....88. Takagi is able to cough up $600k.

Helio Castroneves
Despite not having a full-time ride for 2000, Helio has received an offer from Roger Penske to deputise for Greg Moore for the first five rounds. Helio is more than ecstatic to accept, even if he's driving for free and is looking to make a big statement.

So that leaves RedEyes with driver re-bids then. After that, I will post your current team budgets, along with plans for Spring Training!

mo nunn racing is satisfied woth our driver lineup. Zanardi is eager to prove he still got it, while Sarah is a brilliant coup for us. not because of her marketing potential, but because she has already proven herself as a top notch talent on ovals, and while she's green as grass on road courses, having such an experienced road course racer like Zanardi mentoring her combined with her impressive work ethic is gonna do wonders on her developement. can't wait for the season to start!

PacWest #18
Since Helio Castroneves is going to be without a drive after 5 rounds we'll offer him a base value deal for the remaining rounds.

Round 1-5 bids (Or full season if Helio rejects)
Jan Magnussen (base value)
Tony Renna (base value)
Alexander Wurz is timeless and endless and eternal.
