2005 V8 Supercar Championship Series-Team Signups Open

Post by Shawn040217 »

Welcome lads, to the 2005 Qantas V8 Supercar Championship Series! Coming off the back of a brilliant 2004 season, can Marcos Ambrose clinch his third consecutive championship? Can Jason Bright and Rick Kelly build on from last year to launch a full-on assault for their first title? Can Mark Skaife and Craig Lowndes bounce back from a fairly disappointing season and establish themselves as the kings of Australian motorsport once more? Will David Thexton manage to qualify for a race this year? Time for these questions to be answered here!

2005 Calendar:
1) Clipsal 500 (Adelaide Street Circuit) (2 races) March 17-20 (30 cars)
2) PlaceMakers V8 International (Pukehoke Raceway) (2 races) April 15-17 (30 races)
3) Perth 400 (Barbagallo Raceway) (2 races) 6-8 May (30 cars)
4) Sydney 400 (Eastern Creek Circuit) (2 races) 27-29 May (32 cars)
5) Petronas Sepang V8 Supercars SpeedFest (Sepang Circuit) (2 races) 10-12 June (32 cars)
6) Skycity V8 Supercars (Hidden Valley Raceway) (3 races) 1-3 July (30 cars)
7) Queensland 300 (Queensland Raceway) (3 races) 22-24 July (30 cars)
8) Oran Park 300 (Oran Park Circuit) (3 races) 12-14 August (30 cars)
9) Betta Electrical 500 (Sandown Raceway) (Endurance) (1 race) 9-11 September (32 cars)
10) Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 (Mount Panorama Circuit) (Endurance) (1 race) 6-9 October (34 cars)
11) Gold Coast 600 (Surfers Paradise) (Endurance) (1 race) 20-23 October (30 cars)
12) Ferrodo Triple Challenge (Symmons Plains Raceway) (3 races) 12-13 November (30 cars)
13) BigPond Grand Finale (Philip Island) (2 races) 25-27 November (30 cars)

And here's the teams and regs:

-You can opt to manage up to a maximum of two teams if you so wish, however they have to be of the same manufacturer and be of different tiers.

-Wildcard entries are allowed - I'll get to that later.

-Teams can go into debt. If you are in debt to the tune of A$ 1,000,000 your team will be declared insolvent and automatically ejected from the series with immediate effect, with the RECs left vacant and you automatically re-assigned to the waiting list.

Tier 1 Teams (Starting Budget: A$6,000,000) : Teams that are very much expected to contend for championships, have the most stacked budgets and and sign the best drivers. However these teams will not be able to change car brands unless specified otherwise in a future dilemma.

Stone Brothers Racing (2 RECs) (Wizzie)
Holden Racing Team (2 RECs) (kinnikuniverse)
HRT Racing Team (Holden Young Lions) (2 RECs) (FortiWinks)
Ford Performance Racing (2 RECs) (Reject_Dom)

Tier 2 Teams (Starting Budget: A$ 4,500,000): Teams that are looking for consistent results, with the odd breakout win or two. Usually a good spot for young aspiring up-and-comers, or seasoned, experienced hands. Unlike Tier 1 squads, these teams can opt to change car brands should they please, and also have a high chance of being looked on by potential future car manufacturers looking to enter this great sport.
Triple 8 Race Engineering (2 RECs)
Tasman Motorsports (2 RECs) (kinnikuniverse)
Perkins Engineering (2 RECs)
WPS Racing (2 RECs)(Shawn040217)
Brad Jones Racing (2 RECs)
Dick Johnson Racing (2 RECs) (Reject_Dom)
Garry Rogers Motorsport (2 RECs) (v8fan12)
Paul Weel Racing (2 RECs)

Tier 3 Teams (Starting Budget: A$3,000,000): The least desirable teams, but also the ones with the least expectations on their shoulders. Usually a safe haven for pay drivers, or guys or girls who just want to race simply for the hell of it. Again, these teams can change car brands at their own discretion.

Team Kiwi Racing/Paul Morris Racing (2 RECs)
Britek Motorsport (1 REC)
Team Dynamik (1 REC) (FortiWinks)
Larkham Motorsport (2 RECs) (Wizzie)

As an Aussie who enjoys V8 Supercars I’m compelled to enter this series! (Even though I was only 3 at the time  )

HRT & Dynamik for me please!

Tasman in Supercars in unrelated to the CART team, one of the few teams based out of Sydney :D

Meanwhile, I'll be taking Stone Brothers and Larkham Motorsport
