'20 Panasonic NASCAR Asia-Pacific Series (entries open)

Post by Shawn040217 »

Welcome, lads, to a brave new world. It's 2020, and Gene Stefanshyn, with a helping hand from 16-year-old Malaysian-Chinese blokey named Shawn has decided to take the ol' show to the East, with a huge slew of manufacturers and a massive 30 races spread over 15 countries. Not only that, it means these beastly, burly machines will be racing on any type of circuit imaginable, from ovals to flowy road courses and tight twisty street tracks, which is sure to be a sight to behold for spectators as they witness a different, exciting form of racing (at least in many of these countries). All these and much more will form an entente to create possibly one of the most popular racing series in the East, alongside such giants such as Supercars and Super GT. Will you make your mark?

Here's the juicy stuff:
-You may run up to three teams.
-Each team gets a starting budget of $15,000,000.
-Purchasing of RECs:
Full Time RECs: $1,200,000 each (maximum of 3 full-time RECs per team)
Part Time RECs: $315,000 each (maximum of 1 part-time RECs per team) (Maximum of 12 races per season)

-Basically if you buy one REC you run one car ; if you buy two RECs you run two cars.
-You can choose to sell back your RECs if you so wish.
-Teams can go into debt. If you are in debt to the tune of -$3,000,000 your team will be declared insolvent and ejected from the series.

Car Manufacturers:

Nissan (Altima L34 NASCAR) (Maximum supply of 10 cars)

-As detailed above, you will be bidding for works, semi-works and customer support.
Here's how it goes:
Works Teams will be allowed to develop their engines/chassis, focus the developments of their package on any particular aspect (there's power, reliability and drivability), and will be given an extra cash incentive of $500,000.
Semi-Works Teams will be allowed to develop their engines/chassis, will not be able to focus the developments of their package on any particular aspect (what a works team decides on, the semi-works team gets) and will be given an extra cash incentive of $250,000.
Customer Teams will not be allowed to develop their engines/chassis, will not be able to focus the developments of their package on any particular aspect and will not be given any financial incentives.
Each manufacturer has two Works slots, three Semi-Works slots and unlimited customer slots.

As for Teams:
-Now this is lip-smackin' stuff, hehe.........
Create Your Own Team
-This is non-canon, therefore they have to be based off real-life racing teams, connected in some capacity to your selected brand and/or from series including:
(other NASCAR series/touring cars/junior single-seaters/sportscars/Super GT/Supercars/S5000/Super Formula/any other Asia-Pacific racing series.) Or, basically anything that isn't F1/F2/FE for that matter.
-Try to keep things restrained: I will allow something like a Joe Gibbs Racing Japan , Hattori Racing Enterprises, a Triple 8 Holden entry or a CORE Autosport Asia Nissan entry, but don't expect me to allow something like, say, a Team Hendrick VinFast foray(though GM owns Holden so they could send Chevy NASCAR drivers over for full/part-time duties) or a Team Penske MG contraption, that sort of thing. Although, if you're bringing in an Asian-Australasian team like Eurasia Motorsport, HubAuto Racing or KCMG you'll be just fine, as does non-Asian-Australian teams competing in Asia-Pacifc-based racing series (i.e Rick Ware Racing HAHA and Carlin in the Asian Le Mans Series for example.)

Drivers:
-You are allowed to bid for a maximum of four drivers per entry. Any extra listed drivers will be ignored.
-Only real-life drivers are allowed.
-Drivers signings are limited to your imagination really, although that doesn't mean I'm gonna let in Sebastian Vettel or Fernando Alonso, for instance. For manufacturers like Holden, Nissan, Honda, Toyota, this shouldn't be too much of an issue; as for other manufacturers this requires a li'l thinking out of the box. RNG will decide on that, so don't get your hopes up or down, if that makes sense.
-Drivers also have the option to reject your offers, so make sure you have a backup plan(s) in place.
-You can try to sign current NASCAR drivers, but for full-time duties that's not impossible, but a bit of a shot; part-time is more plausible. But then RNG's callin' the shots, so don't be surprised if Ross Chastain or A.J Allmendinger steps into a full-time ride (again I'm not saying this is impossible).
-Each team must have at least one Asian-Pacific driver.
-A paid driver is entitled to a minimum wage of $400,000. As for part-time drivers they are entitled to a minimum of $30,000 per race and a minimum of 3 races a season.
-Owner-drivers need not pay or be paid.
-A pay driver, be it full-time or part-time can bring in a minimum of $70,000 a year.
-If a paid driver is sacked mid-season you must pay him or her $30,000 as compensation.
-If you sack a pay driver mid-season, you will lose their money for the races they will not be racing in (for example, you hire Joe Graf Jr. for 2 races and he brings in $120,000. If you fire him after 1 race, you lose $60,000)

And the calendar:

-32 cars will start each race unless specified otherwise.
-Now here's one obvious oversight here, and that is the Twin 125s. Yes, we're bringing in the Clash, but with actual purpose. The racers will be split into two groups, drivers in even-numbered championship positions will be in Race 1, drivers in odd-numbered championship positions will be in Race 2. The top 15 drivers from each race sets the grid for the Honda 500, while those finishing outside 'em will not qualify.

Points Structure:
