2021 Siemens Electric GT Championship (entries open)

Post by Shawn040217 »

In this world nothing can be said to be certain except life, death and a flurry of half-baked series ideas from yours truly that will most certainly go nowhere.

(Ok I promise I'll get it right this time.)

The 2021 Siemens Electric GT Championship

Following the death of the Deutsche Tourewagen Masters after 2020, along with the bumbling lelfest that was the Jaguar I-Pace E-Trophy, there was a gaping gap that needed to be filled, which was filled by the Electric GT Championship, based on an idea that was planned to start off in 2018 but was scruppered due to a lack of investment. That idea has been realised though, now as a support series to Formula E as well as substitute to DTM as the world's fastest saloon car series (excluding Super GT), albeit in electrified form. With technological marvels expected to pump out in excess of 825 kW (1120 bhp), with involvement from some of the leading pioneers in electric motoring, this series is bound to breathe new life into the world of top-class motorsport as a whole....

-For single-race weekends there will be a single 40-minute race (excluding Donington).
-As for two-race weekends there will be two 35-minute races, of which the top 10 finishers of Race 1 will be reversed to form the grid for Race 2.
-For the Donington race it will be two hours, with the usage of co-drivers - I'll get to that later.

And with that here's the points structure:

The Drivers
-You can sign any driver you want, though it is recommended you sign drivers connected to the brand or team in other series.
-You can poach drivers connected to other manufacturers, which RNG will decide.
-A paid driver is entitled to a minimum wage of £435,000 a year.
-A pay driver can bring in a minimum of £100,000 a year.
-If a paid driver is sacked mid-season you must pay him or her one-quarter of their wage as compensation.

-If you axe a pay driver mid-season you will lose their money for the races they will not be racing in (for example you hire Paul Dalla Lana providing he brings £200,000 for the season. If you fire him after 4 rounds, you lose $143,000 rounded to the nearest hundred.)
-You are allowed to list up to four drivers per seat -any other listed drivers will be ignored.
-As just mentioned, there will be usage of co-driver for the Donington event, the costs of which the manufacturers will cover, so you just have to nominate driver(s) and see if RNG's kind to you.

Teams
-For this one you can either straight up pick a manufacturer or simply take a team of your choice.
-Each team will be given the same starting budget of £6,000,000.
-Apart from that we have the purchasing of RECs :
Full Time RECs: $1,500,000 each (maximum of 3 RECs per team)
-You can always opt to sell back your RECs if you so wish.
-Teams can go into debt. If your team(s) is in debt to the tune of -£2,000,000 your team will be declared insolvent and automatically ejected from the series.
