After five races, six points is actually our worst finish of the season! McLaren must be absolutely aiming for that "best of the rest" tag this year in third place. A lucky win would be the icing on the cake :)

First R&D + Driver Replacement Period

It is time for the first R&D session along with replacing any drivers. R&D tiers are in the spreadsheet along with driver options. Remember, you do owe a driver his whole season cost even if you replace him.

Your Driver 1 and Driver 2 is listed under the "Contracts" sheet in the spreadsheet.

You cannot replace F2/F3 drivers or promote/relegate them during the season.

"Honestly, it's very exciting," he tells us. "The only thing we don't want to do is lose momentum. Whilst 2021 is very important, I want to learn from BMW's mistake in 2008 and jump at the opportunity we have right now. So I hope that Daniel's win yesterday won't be the only one we get this year. At the start I would have said that top 3 was our goal. Look at the scoresheets and Red Bull isn't even that far away. Therefore it's full steam ahead for the rest of the season."

Second R&D + Driver Replacement Period

It is time for the second R&D session along with replacing any drivers. R&D tiers are in the spreadsheet under "Chassis and R&D" along with driver options under "F1 Drivers". Remember, you do owe a driver his whole season cost even if you replace him.

Your Driver 1 and Driver 2 are listed under the "Contracts" sheet in the spreadsheet.

You cannot replace F2/F3 drivers or promote/relegate them during the season.

IMPORTANT! Look at the first post again and read over the rules to look at any new changes you might have missed. A new addition for next year is the factory level system, which will cost money to upgrade, so do keep that in mind. Next year will also feature 3 R&D periods.

I would like these in by Sunday, April 11th at the very latest, but the earlier the better.

McLaren will not make any R&D, nor will it change either driver.

AutoPilot Magazine wrote:Zak Brown says that the team are now putting in all their eggs to the 2022 basket, be that with or without their current drivers. Whilst Brown spoke highly of Daniel Ricciardo and his shock win in Azerbaijan, there are concerns about McLaren's second driver Lando Norris, who has been consistently off the Australian's pace and had a few retirements in the middle part of the season. It may be that Norris is out for next year and will need another drive for next year if he doesn't improve quickly. McLaren's expectations have risen now that they're moving ever closer towards championship contention, and Norris will have to meet those expectations.

We are right in a dogfight with Ferrari, but they've gone and committed to an A-tier upgrade. I'm not entirely sure that'd be worthwhile for us.

We're going to go with a C-tier factory upgrade if that's allowed; if not then we'll just hoard our money
