Hello everyone! New members' check in desk

Post by LucaPacchiarini »

EDIT

It's not usual around here, but some new members have been kind enough to present themselves/say hello when joining the forum. That, because of the unusualness, seems to generate the odd comment. This topic is reserved for that, from now on; can't make it a "sticky", but will merge any such topics here.

CarlosFerreira

PS: Sorry to take over the thread, Luca.

Hello, I just registered here
my name is Luca and I live in Empoli, a small town near Florence.

I've been a long time racing fan, my favourite team is of course Minardi, and this year I'm supporting Virgin-Manor
Since I have the same first name as The Magnifico Badoer, I also like him, and I'd really like to see him racing in F1 again, starting directly from lap 59 of 60, to see if he can finally score a point.
Me myself I'm a pretty average virtual driver (GTL, Gp4) with occasional flashes of rejectfulness (ask the real driver Fernando Rees, who I crashed into during a GTLegends race while lapped, in real De Villota style)

Seeing that Campos is likely not to compete in the 2010 season, I've decided to form my pesonal reject team... the PACCHIA - COSWOJUDDHARTLAMBO in Partnership with Nippo-Italian Wildcards
the name of the engine derives from all the pieces which were glued together to make it work.

This is the car, built entirely by me, with willow wood:

At the official presentation

Image

The design resembles glorious reject cars of the 70's, like Kauhsen, Trojan and Ensign.

Our goal for new season is to be consistent point scorers, I'm feeling optimistical

Welcome! I think the car looks like it has good potential to become a reject car with an obsurdely underdeveloped front wing. I also like the fact youhave timed your launchto beat everyone else to grab early media attention! Top Job!

Hi there Luca!

From the look of it, your car must be front-engined! And I couldn't have picked a better pair of Italian drivers myself!

Oh, so it's like the Flintstone car. I would imagine that Lavaggi would get round faster that way.

Get some slightly larger wheels and you should be able to race upside down. That would come in handy with your driver choice.

Awesome idea.

I officially announce the creation of DeCrasheris-TWR Funai Super Aguri Motorsport F1 Super(Reject)Team!
Image
Aguri Suzuki has been announced as Team Principal, Tom Walkinshaw as Executive Director and Andrea DeCrasheris as our driver coach. There is no cheif designer because we don't have any money to update the car.
The above has occured because we spent our entire budget at a 100 Yen shop, buying 3 old Honda RA099s as chassis and the old Honda V8s we nicked from the trash can outside Brackley that have been sitting there for a year now.
The DCTWRFSAMF1SRT 010-SS
Image

We have acquired 4 excellent drivers for the year ahead - two as race drivers and two as testers, as you can see below:
28. Nelson Piquet Jr.
Image
Chosen for his ability to crash at a moment's notice - which fits well with the long-term strategy of the team.
29. Luca Badoer
Image
"OI TOM, WHERE DID YOU SAY PIQUET IS GOING TO CRASH IN SINGAPORE NOW TURN 17 HAS GONE?!"
His technical know-how and untapped talent will see him rise to the front of the grid (only once Piquet has pulled his little trick and deployed the safety car though...)
TESTERS
Plamen Kralev
Image
The official 3rd driver for the team - will step in for Piquet when he inevitably gets suspended for 'cheating'. Pfff, the FIA don't have a clue what they are on about...
Samy Naceri
Image
Will spend this season practising on GP4 from his prison cell while waiting in the wings for a drive next year - hopefully the FIA will have allowed V10s again so he can bring Pug money and engines with him for 2011.

We expect to dominate the 2010 Formula One (Reject) World Championship and win both the W(R)DC and W(R)CC titles in our debut season. Anything less and all team employees, including drivers, will be burned at the stake for crimes against HWNSNBM.

you bought the car, that's not legal... you have to build the car yourself... with wood like I did, or with cardboard boxes or assembling parts of other cars...

If your entry for the championship is accepted, I'll withdraw my team, Pacchia GP, from the F1 Rejects Championship

In my defense it was a DIY kit...they just give you the bits and you have to stick it all together with blu tack. But I only had 400 yen with me - so I only had 1 pack of it. And of course, I didn't have enough left to stick the wings on, so it looks like it's not going to want to go round corners...ever.

There's people here (like me) who believe in HWNSNBM. We vote for a thing called the IIDOTR - and I count the votes. On an Excel spreadsheet. He/she said hi, and so far hasn't tried to sell or publicize anything.

Spambots usually don't wait a couple of days until they start spamming, and they usually have their profile filled with information relating to what they are advertising. So I'd say that everyone should lower their anti-spam defenses for a short while and actually believe that it might be human being posting there. :geek:

Yeah, but wouldn't a person usually make some kind of reference to where they are, rather than such a generic intro? That could have been posted anywhere. No mention of F1. I'm wary of that kind of thing.
