2017 Japanese Grand Prix - Predicament Predictions!

Post by Rob Dylan »

Welcome™ to the 2017™ Japanese™ Grand™ Prix™ Predicament™ Predictions™!™

I haven't checked the forecast, but we're here this weekend at sunny / rainy Suzuka, with a chance for everyone to win, except the slower drivers and cars who won't win. Suzuka has had many great races in the past, like the one where the guy's wheel fell off and it was funny, or the other one where the guys crashed and then the other one won who nobody knew but then he didn't win again but it was still good because he won that one race. Good times. This next race could be just like that! Get your predictions in before FP3 or there will be major penalties envoked*!
*Major penalties may or may not be envoked

1. Sebastian Vettel
2. Kimi Räikönnen
3. Max Verstappen
4. Lewis Hamilton
5. Daniel Ricciardo
6. Valtteri Bottas
7. Lance Stroll
8. Stoffel Vandoorne
9. Pierre Gasly
10. Felipe Massa

Pole Position: Sebastian Vettel
Fastest lap: Sebastian Vettel
First retirement: Fernando Alonso (and it will be a replica of 2012)
Reject of the Race (ROTR): Fernando Alonso
Infinite Improbability Drive of the Race (IIDOTR): Pierre Gasly (Sainz is nowhere all race)
Deadbeat Teammate of the Race (DBTMOTR): Fernando Alonso
Minor League Premiership (MLP): Lance Stroll
Did Not Start (DNS): N/A

As usual, a point is available for the funniest alternative race title, and double points are free to use for anyone who hasn't used them yet. Good luck!

It's starting to get towards those final few races in the predicaments championship, and though our leader has a gap to his rivals, it is being slowly but surely closed in on. As the end of the season gets closer, it's getting more tense, and this race was interesting in that regard.

Ugncreativeusergname and Aislabie share the win this weekend. This marks the former's third win this season, and as a result we may just have a late contender for the championship if this consistency is kept up! The latter takes their second win this season, with the first having been all the way back in China, when they took the lead in round two. Both Ugncreativeusergname and tommykl close in on Mario, our championship leader, by five and four points respectively. With four rounds to go, tommykl certainly has an easier chance of catching Mario, but anything can happen in the championship. Fullmetaljack wins the funniest alternative race title. Here are the standings:
