My choice is Racing Point Force India for their brilliant "debut". Amazing qualifying, great race! :)

1. The extended five-minute post-race coverage of Lewis Hamilton scratching his arse - glorious.
2. Racing Point - of course, probably a dead cert. to win after that wonderful "debut" race :D let's hope this is the end of the outfits money woes for the foreseeable future.

HM - That battle between Hartley and Ericsson - A real legendary reject scrap.

Gasly, another solid job. Horner and Marko could be onto something

Sauber & Ericsson: Sauber's shoulders must have dropped after the first corner, but they regrouped well with Ericsson and still bought a point home.

Hon. Mention: Halo, I still think you are ugly, but you did a good job out there. Well done.

1) Racing Point: More than quadrupling Williams' point totals over the season in the course of a single race.

2) The halo: It may be ugly as sin, but I don't think Leclerc will be complaining after it deflected Alonso's wheel.

Racing Point Force India - Who would have thought a team so new to the sport could perform so well? :deletraz: Maybe the fumes from the paint still drying on "Racing Point" was having an effect on the other drivers.

Ericsson - Trading with Hartley lap after lap, really pushing that Sauber, it was one of the few entertaining things to watch in this race.

Actually, I take back my nomination. Instead, we need to nominate Alessandro Zanardi for IIDOTR for his inspiring drive at Misano.

I can't believe a team joining F1 mid-season is instantly best of the rest. My second choice is Alonso, for being involved in both the 2012 crash and its sequel. It's a shame he's retiring, all he has to do is cause it and he'll have the full set!

Racing Point: What a debut for them. There's something about Spa that just makes this team whatever guise it's in come alive

The Halo: I think we've witnessed the first major case of it saving a driver's life. It's not pretty to look at but I've always said that I don't care because of the job it's meant to do

Marcus Ericsson: 3 points finishes in 5 races now plus he's now comfortably expected to make Q2 with no fuss, Good job.

Poll is up. 48 hours as usual. Get your answers in for the most unexpectedly great thing about Spa-Francorchamps in 2018. There are a lot of choices this weekend.

Our other slamdunk winner for the weekend was Racing Point Force India, for one hell of a successful weekend! With rumours of talks falling through, there was serious worry for Force India and the team's future. Thankfully not only did a buyer come through, but they bounced right back with a fantastic result, landing themselves on the second row for qualifying and scoring fifth and sixth in the race. Already they looked able to get back on their feet and score major points for the rest of the season. Good luck to them!
