Russell's FW42 was caught up in another incident as it returned to the pitlane on the recovery truck, as the crane that had extricated it made contact with a bridge and was damaged, spilling liquid onto the F1 car sat on its flatbed.

The circuit is so shambolically awful I can't help but love it. We should rejoice every time the F1 circus goes here.

To be fair its happened at Monaco a few times, and they have been doing it for 80 odd years, Button back in 2016, Barrichello in 2010.

Raikkonen's been disqualified from qualifying as his front wing failed the flex test. He'll be starting from the pitlane with Kubica and Gasly...which might be a safe choice given the carnage we're likely to see on the first lap.

Meanwhile, this joke of a sport continues to deliver pearlers like this.

And the prediction turned out to be true - the reason for that is because the pit lane is still open up until that point and the drivers are allowed to go through the pit lane if they want to do another reconnaissance lap, so parking Kubica in the pit lane too early meant that Williams were effectively blocking it.

Mercedes must be wondering what the hell everyone else is doing. Their most dominant start to a season in a year when we expected it to be a real scrap for them!

At least Bottas is making things interesting. Let's hope he can keep it up!

And Ferrari may be determined to lose, but we still seem to have a good championship battle.
